Let's Go Home

His jaws clenched hard. She could see how his hands were clenched into a fist as he tried hard to digest her word and did not reply back.

"Very well, I will make sure to remember that she already has a father figure in her life when her real father did not even know about her existence. Shall I add it too in the list of heinous crimes you have commited?" his voice was so low and so calm yet she could feel the storm building in his eyes and flinched.

For some reason, she felt guilty. Even though she knew there was nothing between him and Jack, she felt the need to explain to him though she was the one who wanted to spite him in the first place.

"That is.." not the case, words died in his mouth when he turned with a cold look.

"We are leaving in half an hour. Since Penny is young, we can not take the teleportation doors, so it is going to be a two day long journey. I have already asked for all the needed medicine from the physician. Do tell me if you or Penny need something else for the journey?" his voice was so calm, almost tender as if they were going to travel like family. But it could not hide the fear in his eyes. She had seen how much he hated him.

What if he really sent her into prison for the crimes she had never done for. For the crimes she didn't even know about.

"For what? Are you going to send me to prison like Damien had told me?" she asked in a spiteful voice but he just shrugged his shoulders as he left the room, "wait.. You know that I have not committed any crime. If you want to get rid of me. I will…. I will sign the divorce papers but do not send me to the prison.'' It hurt her pride to do that but she had responsibilities now. She could not indulge in a fight with a strong man like Tyrone when she had nothing to protect herself.

But even when she bowed her head, let go of her self respect, he did not even turn to look at her. He did not acknowledge her words but kept walking towards the door.

"Wait.. Penny needs me. If i.. She needs me, Tyrone! Do not be so cruel." she begged as tears started to form in her eyes. How could this man be so cruel? Why had she never realized in the past that he had no emotions?

Or she did when he found him with others but she never felt that he would behave that way with her because he used to look at her with such tender eyes!

"She had me now!" was the last words he spoke when he left the room while she slumped on the ground, broken, frail and vulnerable.

It was an injustice but she could do nothing about it! No! She was not going to accept it, she was going to fight for herself and her daughter till the end.

Before she could hold herself, the door was opened again and Damien entered. He looked surprised to see her sitting on the ground but the shock was soon replaced with that cold and detached look again.

"We need to leave now. Penny is already in the carriage but she is making a fuss since you are not there. Can you hurry?" Cassey wiped the tears off her eyes as she stood up and walked out of the room without replying to Dami.

If he did not acknowledge her now, she did not need him too.

When she reached the carriage, she saw Penny struggling to stay away from her father who was trying his best to hold her.

She was still angry with his comments and did not want to give him another chance. She was stubbornly refusing to stay in his lap while the carriage was not like before. It was going to ride between many towns and the road would not be that smooth.

It was not going to be a smooth journey but the young girl was adamant into not sharing a carriage with him,

"Mother, help me." she groaned as soon as her eyes fell on Cassey. "He is taking me again." this time Penny did not even know where!

Tyrone had realized that his daughter was really angry with her over Jack as Cassey had told him.

He looked at Cassey with a look of resentment as if it was her fault. If only she had spent all the time with him, Penny had recognized him as her father then she had never given a stranger more importance.

"We are going to the capital, baby. Did you not want to see the large lake of the capital? And you always wanted to visit those famous sweet shops, right?" Cassey sat there and held her daughter in her arms.

Penny smiled in the lap of her mother as she nodded her head.

"Will I get sweets too?" she asked, blinking her big doe eyes, that Tyrone melted in a second.

"I will buy the whole shop if you want, precious. Will you come to me now?" he asked softly but the young girl casted a glare at him and snuggled into the arms of her mother ignoring him again.

Cassey smiled for once she felt that it was her victory. No matter how childish it felt, she did not want to give Tyrone the feeling he had trampled all over her. If he was trying to discard her, he had to forget about their daughter too for she was only going to follow her mother.

"Mommy, you always told me that father is waiting for us there, are we going to meet him too?"
