Final rest

"It looks like we are on time," Juvia said as she breathed out a sigh of relief.

Roughly a hundred people worked on the show that was bound to start sometime soon. Some kept on adding more blocks of wood to the massive pile, and others poured oil onto the wood from the vases they scavenged from the city.

The small group of people at the top of the pile of wood completed their task of inserting a long, wooden pole and then securing it in place with some ropes.

But that still wasn't enough.

Even though the ropes were more than enough to keep the stake in place, they would also be the first part of the entire thing to burn away. As such, a new procession of people formed to carry huge stones up the pile of wood and lock the stake in place with their weight.

'At this point, I can pretty much tell what this is all about,' Theo thought, struggling to stop a grim expression from appearing on his face.
