Chapter 92: Memories

Just like a seal in his mind was shattered, Jack's brain screamed instantly with countless images that flooded out from the deep of his soul like a tsunami, rushing towards his brain.

Jack's mind was immediately swept away by a flood of memories, like a leaf floating with the wind.

His consciousness and the wave of memories seemed to have returned to the forgotten past.

.....

1943

Snowy mountains, steep cliffs, and a train

"Bang, Bang, Bang!"

In one fell swoop, Jack took care of the culprit who caused Bucky to fall off the cliff in the original story, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

To prevent the tragedy of Bucky falling off the cliff from happening again, he swapped tasks with Steve and headed straight for the front of the train while Jack and Bucky cleared the Hydra soldiers on board.

"Whew, that was close!" Bucky crawled up from behind the cover and breathed a sigh of relief.

"This guy is really well hidden." Jack smiled and was about to continue forward when a bright orange light door suddenly appeared in front of them, causing Jack to freeze for a second before quickly preparing for a fight.

Although Bucky was also a little confused, his actions were not slow. The two of them aimed their guns at the light screen.

As Jack and Bucky watched, several people in orange and black combat suits, holding strange short sticks, walked out.

"The location is correct, the timing is right, this is it, another earthly criminal who violates the normal timeline."

The leader was a fat woman who held a strange device and examined it for two seconds before nodding in confirmation and looking at Bucky, who was ready for battle.

"Bucky Barnes, You have to come with us!" Of course, Bucky couldn't just surrender. If it wasn't for Jack holding him back, he would have started shooting.

"No, they are not," Jack answered Bucky's question on behalf of the other side. It was obvious from their appearance and equipment that they weren't Hydra.

"We are the Minutemen. Now, on behalf of the Time Variance Authority, we declare that Bucky Barnes, you are suspected of violating the sacred timeline and creating unauthorized branches in time. You have to come with us."

"..."

Jack and Bucky looked at each other, both confused.

Well, Jack was confused even as a time traveler himself. 'Did these things exist in the MCU?'

"Who are you?!" the Minutemen seemed to have just noticed Jack's presence, and their faces immediately turned serious. Looking around, the fat woman asked, "Where's Steve Rogers? And who are you?"

The Minutemen all held their short batons, which lit up with a mysterious yellow light and became alert towards Jack.

Meanwhile, Bucky was ignored.

"I guess I need to introduce myself," Jack smiled. He had no idea what was happening, but the Time-keepers certainly did.

Putting his handgun back in its holster, Jack stretched his hands, ready for hand-to-hand combat. Since they weren't carrying guns, he didn't need his either.

It seemed that the chubby woman had sensed his intentions and quickly turned her short stick, and the end of the stick lit up with purple light, striking at Jack.

Jack grabbed the glowing end of the stick with his hand, looking at the other person strangely. "Is this all?"

"This is impossible!!" However, those self-proclaimed Minutemen were shocked, their eyes bulging as if they had seen a ghost.

"Don't be so surprised!" Jack wasn't sure what was going on and grabbed the stick. He raised his foot, and the chubby woman was sent flying. The remaining Minutemen returned to their senses and rushed forward with their sticks. One of them rushed towards Bucky.

Jack grabbed a stick in one hand and was about to take action when he suddenly heard a shout behind him. He instinctively turned around to look.

Bucky was mimicking him, holding a Time-keeper's stick in his hand. He was frozen like a statue. Even his expression and flowing hair were frozen in place.

Jack finally realized that the Minutemen stick could manipulate time.

"What the hell?!" Jack turned his head and looked at Bucky, then looked at the fat woman uncertainly, "You can control the time of the object?"

No wonder he was surprised. So far in the MCU, nothing could control time except for the Time Stone.

It was unbelievable that someone with an item could control time so easily.

He was also a little confused about why it didn't work for him.

Looking at the fat woman on the ground with horror in his eyes, Jack cut to the chase and said, "Come on, tell me about the so-called sacred timeline, the Time Variance Authority."

The fat woman swallowed hard and looked back at her colleagues before turning to Jack once more.

Soon after hearing the other person's explanation, Jack sorted out his thoughts and turned to look at Bucky, who was frozen, sighing with a headache.

'What the hell has Disney been filming?'

In simple terms, a long time ago, there was a great war in the multiverse, which nearly destroyed more than 90% of the multiverse. It's worth mentioning that the multiverse here actually refers to different timelines because some people's different choices, even if it's just whether to drink milk or chocolate milk in the morning, will create a new timeline, and thus this would create a whole new parallel universe.

The timelines were originally separate from each other, but somehow they began to connect and interact with each other. As they interacted, conflicts naturally arose.

War broke out.

Later, three so-called Time-Keepers appeared, and they ended the war in the multiverse. To prevent another great war in the multiverse, the Time-Keepers established the Time Variance Authority, shortened as TVA, to monitor the timelines.

Once the TVA detects a timeline with the potential to cause a multiverse war, they will take action, take away the person who caused the timeline, and erase the newborn timeline.

The Sacred Timeline is made up of all of the timelines that won't start a war between universes.

But in this Sacred Timeline, Bucky falling off the cliff and becoming the Winter Soldier is something that will definitely happen.

However, now Bucky did not fall off the cliff, so they came to arrest him, erase this timeline, and time will go back to before the action, until Bucky successfully falls off the cliff, and then it will stop.

After sorting out these thoughts, Jack's brows furrowed more and more.

'Something's not right.'
