Chapter 99: Puppet

"Hehehe!"

"Time Keepers?"

Jack looked at the three lizard-like creatures high above with cold eyes and sneered, "Is this what Time Keepers look like?"

On the opposite cliff of the platform hung three thrones, each occupied by a humanoid creature over three meters tall with a unique skin. Just as Jack thought, they really looked too much like lizards.

"Your words are very rude, Time Criminal!"

The lizard man in the middle seemed a little unhappy, swaying his big head and looking down at Jack. "You have caused enough trouble, and now that you have met us, do you not plan to surrender?"

"I have no such plan."

Jack glanced at Sylvie, who looked eager to fight and had to comfort her with his eyes first before turning back to the Time Keepers. "I need your help with something, if..."

"Hahaha!"

"Hehehehehe!"

.....

Before he could finish, the three lizard people above suddenly burst into laughter as if they had heard something particularly funny.

"Fine."

Jack naturally knew why they were laughing and sighed helplessly.

"Bang!"

The sound of a gunshot echoed around them, and the center of the Time Keeper was directly shot in the head. A bullet hole appeared on the head of the big lizard, but strangely, no blood flowed out.

Sparks and electricity burst out from the bullet hole, and immediately afterward, the three Time-Keepers slumped down on their thrones as if their battery had been drained.

"As expected!"

Jack looked towards Sylvie without surprise, saying to her, who didn't quite understand the situation, "See that? These are the Time Keepers, just three robot puppets."

Since he had first come in, he had felt that something was off. These three so-called Time Keepers were just too ordinary. Other than their lizard skin, they had nothing unique about them.

He had originally thought that, as the hero who put an end to the great multiverse battle, he would surely have considerable fighting power. But he didn't sense any strong presence from them.

And in the face of his madman killing right from the start, they didn't even fight back but instead talked to him.

This made Jack even more suspicious.

So he attacked them unexpectedly, and as he expected, these three were all robots and very crudely made robots.

The Time-keepers were definitely someone else!

"Robots without souls?!" Even Sylvie was dumbfounded. The Time-keepers, who were said to have created the TVA, were actually just three robots. If this got out, the entire TVA Minuteman would go rage.

However, most importantly, she has been searching for the Time-Keepers her entire life to seeking revenge against them. Now that she had finally found them, they turned out to be three robots.

She doesn't even know where the real mastermind is. Sylvie couldn't help but feel discouraged. Has she been wasting her time for the past decade?

Seeing Sylvie feeling lost, Jack patted her shoulder and encouraged her, "The Time Keepers may be fake, but the Time Variance Authority isn't. There must be a way to find the person behind this."

"How do we find them?"

Sylvie looked at him with dull eyes, "We don't even know who they are and where they are!"

He then turned around and looked at the elevator. "But there must be someone in the TVA who knows."

Sylvie also turned to look at the elevator, seemingly realizing something, and her eyes brightened as she regained her composure.

"Ding!"

Just then, the elevator door opened again. The woman Jack had seen before led many Agents out and immediately spotted the three dead Time Keepers.

"What have you all done?!"

The woman looked at the three robots in disbelief, completely unable to believe what she was seeing. After taking a few glances and confirming that everything was not an illusion, her slightly dark face suddenly turned red with anger.

She was furious.

"Get them!" The Minuteman tried to take down Jack and Sylvie, but...

"Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang!"

After many gunshots, a few more bodies were added to the pile.

Only the woman was left, staring in shock at Jack... and the gun in his hand.

"This is impossible!" she said, unable to believe her eyes. "It is impossible to use any abilities, power, or items within the Time Variance Authority."

Jack raised an eyebrow, surprised by this, and looked over at Sylvie, who shrugged in confusion.

No wonder her magic didn't work earlier.

"I don't think this is the time to discuss that."

Putting his gun back into its holster, Jack picked up a stick from the ground and walked a few steps to the woman. He grabbed her neck and said coldly, "I'll ask you one question, and only one question, where are the Time-keepers, and are the pruned people really dead?"

"I... I don't know!" The woman felt her breathing becoming difficult and tried to remove Jack's hand from her neck with both hands, but even so, she chose not to say anything.

"I advise you to tell the truth, Judge Renslayer." Sylvie walked over, looking at the woman with a smirk. "He just lost his comrade, so his emotions are very unstable. Look at your subordinates. He didn't even blink as he killed them. If you don't want to be pruned, say everything you know."

"She's mostly right, but there's one thing that's different."

Jack threw Renslayer to the ground, pressing the sharp end of the stick against her neck and saying coldly, "I won't prune you. I'll fucking skin you."

Renslayer's body trembled slightly, glancing at the short stick on her chin, feeling Jack's cold gaze. She struggled for a moment before finally surrendering to his pressure.

"The prune people will be sent to an alternate reality called the Void, It's impossible for us to go there!"

"As for the Time Keepers..."

She looked up at the three robots, her face somewhat sad. "I don't know who he really is or where he is. I only know that these three robots represent him and manage the TVA. That's all I know."

Jack and Sylvie looked at each other and nodded.

However, Jack was a bit troubled, rubbing his temple.

'How were they going to rescue him?'
