Chapter 109: Anomaly

"Are you kidding me?" Sylvie, Loki, and Bucky looked at Kang in disbelief. They understood the idea of other versions of themselves in other timelines, but the idea that Jack was the only one in existence in all timelines was hard to believe.

"No, I'm not joking!" Kang said excitedly, "This is a very rare situation, you know? Even Odin, Thanos, the Ancient One, and even the Five cosmic entities who help maintain balance, all exist in infinite versions of themselves in every timeline. But he's an anomaly."

He pointed to the expressionless Jack, who was now standing at the table. Kang's excitement made him lose control of his emotions.

"Here, I can control everything in the Sacred Timeline, but there are always some people who I can't control, and those people are inevitably the best in the entire multiverse. They are not affected by the timeline, and they only have one version of themselves."

"Of course, some people like to create clones and go to other multiverses, but that's not important. What's important is..."

"You."

Kang crouched down, pointing at Jack, and spoke each word deliberately, "You are similar to them, but not the same. I don't know who you are; you weren't supposed to exist in any timeline. It's like you seem to have come from nowhere. Even those people I mentioned earlier leave traces of their existence across timelines, but not you."

"The timeline cannot record your existence, you are a person outside of time."

"..."

Kang's words really confused Sylvie, Loki, and especially Bucky, who was completely lost within all this talk of multiverses, the Ancient One, and Thanos. His headache was only getting worse as time went on.

Sylvie and Loki understood more, so they looked at Jack with strange expressions.

Jack picked up his teacup calmly and took a sip of tea. He looked at Kang coldly and asked, "Are you done talking?"

"Of course not! Of course not!"

Kang jumped off the table and searched through the drawer, pulling out a contract and placing a pen beside it.

"What is this?"

Sylvie frowned, quickly checked through the agreement, and then Loki leaned over, looking up at Kang in shock. "You want to give him the Time Variance Authority?!"

"Yes, I just decided that!"

Kang seemed to have lifted a heavy burden, lazily leaning back on his seat, looking at Jack with empty eyes, and murmured, "You can end my mission, end the multiverse war!"

"Forget that for now, I'm curious about the multiverse you mentioned. What exactly is it?" Jack casually returned the contract to Kang and asked, "What is your mission?"

"About this, it's my story, and it's quite long. Are you sure you want to hear it?"

When it came to this topic, Kang's expression was filled with sadness. He sighed deeply and began to tell his story and the multiverse war.

In short, it was indeed a war that had affected countless parallel universes, as Jack had at least heard. However, the source of the war was none other than Kang himself, sitting in front of them.

Kang was a very talented scientist on Earth in the 31st century, a time of rapid technological development. During a scientific experiment, he accidentally discovered the existence of other timelines.

Different choices would create two completely different timelines, which then led to the creation of parallel universes under the dual influence of time and space. Kang existed in these parallel worlds, and they shared knowledge and helped each other. It was the most happiest time of Kang ever had

Unfortunately, good times never last. Not every Kang in each parallel world was kind. Evil Kangs wanted to conquer other timelines and attempted to control the flow and development of timelines through the Time Variance Authority in order to rule everything.

Naturally, Kang was not the type to just do nothing, It was the start of the Multiversal War.

In the end, Kang defeated the other Kangs and reached at the end of time, where he was all-knowing and all-powerful. However, a problem appeared. Evil Kangs would still come here and start another Multiversal War if the timeline were not controlled.

Therefore, as a last resort, he created the Time Variance Authority, which prevented the birth of evil Kangs by erasing timeline branches. This may seem cruel because many people who were arrested did not know why, and many innocents were among them.

But Kang didn't care about them. Sacrificing them is better than sacrificing billions of living beings.

In the end, this is the current situation.

"You bastard."

Sylvie really hated Kang, She was even angrier when she found out that what she had been through was caused by the multiverse war.

'What? Just because she, as a female Loki, wants to be a good person, she has to be erased? Why does Loki always have to be a villain.'

After listening to Kang's explanation, she didn't hesitate to swing her sword at him but obviously missed.

"Don't be so angry, baby. You're not the only one with a similar experience."

Kang looked at Sylvie with a smile, as if he didn't notice her murderous eyes, and continued: "You have to know that if we don't do this, the multiverse war will break out, and the Asgardians will be the first to be affected. Basically, very few people can survive. I've met your brother Thor. He died many times trying to protect you."

"Do you want to see that kind of scene?"

Sylvie fell silent and didn't know how to answer for a moment.

"And you, your escape really caused me trouble."

Kang looked at Loki again, his face a little troubled

"You know, because of your disappearance, the relationship between Earth and Asgard got worse quickly, and your brother thought the Midgardians hid you. Thor got very angry and fought with the Avengers, which directly led to a complete change in history."

"As for you... You were supposed to fall off the cliff, but it doesn't matter. With him here, whether you fall or not doesn't make any difference. Everything is already in chaos."

Finally, Kang looked at Jack. "You, you're the most special one. I said that because you can end the multiversal war, truly end it."

"Wow, it sounds like I have a big mission."

Jack sneered and gazed at Kang, "Maybe you can tell me why?"

"What does it mean to truly end the multiversal war?"
