Ultimate Power I

Irwin had experienced teleporting twice in his life. Once when he used his then-last Monster Banishing Sigil, whereupon he collapsed into a wheezing diuretic lump of human coal and the other was when he used Scattering Wind with the help of the runic pillars on the Castle of Endless Agony.

The second time was not that great either. It took all his willpower not to vomit his breakfast. In fact, he was impressed by how sturdy and put-together his army was when he ordered them to start the raid. It made him wonder how they were able to do that when they were physically weaker than him.

Nevertheless, the third time he teleported was with the help of Hadriel and, frankly, it was therapeutic and soothing, much better than the other two times combined. He even felt some chinks in his muscles pop into normalcy the moment he landed on the unstable ground.

Waves of heat, however, broke through the refreshing ambience the teleportation had created as dark flames rose from the ground and sent debris hurtling through the area like broken comets.

Through the hazy fog of ash and dust and fine mists of blood, the hulking form of crimson-eyed, vein-popping, foam snarling Hephaestus swung haymakers after haymakers against an impossibly agile and devilishly maniacal Prince of Hell. Even when one out of ten punches hit the demon, she merely guided the power of the blow into her vessel's organs.

Met with an impossible win scenario, Hephaestus had chosen to succumb to his base instinct and forgo any sense of purpose that had stalled the chaos within his very essence from years of non-worship.

The pagan god would be dying today and that was if Irwin didn't do anything about it.

Hadriel brought out her Angel's Scythe and tried to march forward, but halted when Irwin brought a finger up in the air.

"She already knows we're here. Let her finish her fun." He said as he twirled his Angel's Blade in his right hand.

Hadriel was reticent, of course, to take suggestions from a mortal–even more for an order–yet she saw the readiness with which Dagon had put up the moment they arrived here.

One by one, the remaining angels in the Garrison appeared around the area of the much destroyed pavilion as Dagon began to match Hephaestus with every blow and slowly gained an advantage in speed and strength. It was not surprising, however, as the pagan god was now merely acting on instinct and raw power and certainly not at all surprising when Dagon pushed her fist through his chest.

"Should we do something about that?" Asked the dark-skinned man with face tattoos.

"No, let her be," Answered Malkanthor before ordering them to reveal their weapons.

Dagon tore through much of Hephaestus' chest, ripping out his still-beating heart, one of his lungs, and his kidneys before throwing him into the heart of the pavilion, where his body crashed helplessly into the metal throne.

Irwin gripped his blade tightly as his left hand went into his pants pocket. He would soon fulfill a long awaited promise, and it would be to his fucking pleasure.

"Long time no see, Dagon." He shouted, twirling his blade around his fingers like it wasn't sharp enough to cut steel.

Dagon tilted her head to one side and turned towards him with a vicious grin on her face. "Well, well, well… if it ain't the prodigal son? How's boarding school, baby boy?"

"Very well, mother…fucker." He replied politely, stepping forward to meet her. "But I find myself missing home and you, most of all."

Irwin brought his hands out of his pocket, a glowing light within his palms were emitting lightning arcs that scored his very flesh. The moment he procured the item out of his Trade Counter, the sky trembled with wrath as the wind picked up with a hearty blow.

Thunder and lightning roared up above as the ground shook with the same anger as of heaven. Natural phenomena were hard to recreate, even with their might yet merely the existence of such an item caused all of them to happen.

"As above, so below." Malkanthor whispered as he stepped back in fear.

Irwin grinned as crushed the light within his palm as the lightning arcs grew larger until was scoring his whole body, tearing off flesh and burning his organs.

"LET ME SHOW YOU HOW I FUCKING MISSED YOU!"

Irwin felt his body overloading with energy. His very being was being transformed into something other than a mortal. His magik was collapsing in on itself as it tried to defend against the changes happening within his form.

He felt the world was angry at him, calling him an abomination. Yet, for all that anger, there was fear. Complete and utter fear.

Irwin's senses were being overloaded and so was his body, as evident by his status.

He roared against the heavens as shadowy tendrils formed on the ground beneath him and transformed into a set of dark wings. He activated his Overmode, allowing himself room to breathe as the inhuman changes within his body became bearable to his still mortal brain.

His eyes lit up with a heavenly glow as another message appeared on his retina.

Under the shocked eyes of the angels and one demon, Irwin flapped his wings and arrived in front of Dagon with a winded fist. The demon could not even respond before Irwin gave her a well-meaning uppercut. Her vessel cut through the blustering winds and tore through the paper walls and wooden posts that held the pavilion aloft.

His complete control over his temporary and powerful abilities astounded even him, owing it to Overmode's powerful effect.

He lifted off the ground and followed after Dagon before she could take stock of the situation. Dark balls of flames, however, were what he met atop the pavilion, which he redirected using his newly formed Angel's Grace.

The celestial energy flowed from within his chest towards his left arm before slapping the fireball away. The flow of his Grace was akin to a highly viscous yet extremely runny jelly and he felt as if he could command the jelly to form anything within the limits of his imagination.

He mirthfully gazed at Dagon's floating form as she glared at him. The skies trembled over their heads as their sheer might threatened to spill the island below the deep ocean.

"Do you really think you can defeat me?" She roared before she teleported above Irwin.

Her hands, clenched into a tight fist, swung downwards, along with it was a massive gravitational force that bore down on Irwin with great intent. Even with his angelic capabilities, he fell from his place and crashed down to Earth like a vengeful comet.

A massive crater a dozen feet deep was formed upon his landing, causing the already destroyed pavilion to tilt down towards him. With a roar, Dagon unleashed another wave of telekinetic energy and brought down the entire building on him.

Irwin couldn't see much with his normal eyes, but when he used his Grace, however, it was as if there was no cloud of dust and debris in front of him.

Hadriel, Malkanthor, and the other angel attacked Dagon simultaneously, scarring her face. But that was the extent of the damage for, even with one-arm, she was still incredibly strong.

That was why he decided to risk his life and consume an unstable, artificial Angel Grace. A creation of Lucifer's right-hand woman, Lilith, and taken from Raphael's Grace, diluted and experimented with for millennia.

What he consumed was the latest and last product of the demon forces and would only last for fifteen minutes. The effects were clear, but so were the aftermath, as the residual power would wreck through his body like it was a demolition site.

But, for fifteen minutes, he could go toe-to-toe with Angels and Demons alike.

Wings fluttered in the distance before Balthazar appeared next to him with a bottle of wine and two glasses.

"Care for some?" He asked.

"That's mine, you know?" Irwin replied, groaning up and out of the crater.

"You said it yourself: Mi casa, su casa." The angel chuckled, finishing the bottle and throwing the glasses into the crater.

Irwin unfurled his wings, casting a dark shadow past his glowing form. "Shut up and just join us!"

He flew up with a flap of his mighty wings, leaving Balthazar to his wine.

I'll be focusing on New Dawn, but still expect 5 chap/day for now. Give it a read if you can.
