Chapter 30: Jiang Yan sprained her foot!

Jiang Yan took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice firm.

The leader of the group stepped forward, a wicked grin on his face. "We're the ones you don't want to mess with," he said, his voice deep and menacing.

Jiang Yan didn't flinch. "Why are you following me?" she asked, her eyes fixed on the leader.

The leader of the group looked at the girl in front of him. She hardly looked like a teenager and seemed fragile. He was impressed that she had found out that they were following her. Unfortunately for her, she was going to be ruined by them soon.

"Little girl, I don't know if I shall call you brave or simply foolish. Instead of asking us why, you should have run away when you had the chance," The leader laughed at Jiang Yan's foolishness.

She looked at the leader of the group and asked again, "Who asked you to follow me?"

The leader laughed at Jiang Yan's foolishness and told her, "You should have run away when you had the chance instead of chatting with us. It's too late now."

Jiang Yan stood her ground; she was not afraid. Though, she was in a tricky situation, she needed to solve to get the bottom of this, else these kinds of attack will keep happening with her.

Jiang Yan narrowed her eyes. "Who hired you to follow me?" she asked again.

The leader chuckled. "You're a feisty one, aren't you?" he said, shaking his head in amusement. He signalled two of his men to make a move.

Jiang Yan was quick to react. Within seconds, she had subdued the two men, leaving the rest of the group stunned. The leader's expression hardened as he realized he had underestimated her.

"You're a skilled fighter," he said, his voice dripping with contempt. "But you won't be able to defeat all of us."

Jiang Yan didn't back down. "I don't have to," she said, her eyes blazing with determination. "I just have to defeat you."

The leader let out a low growl and ordered his men to attack her. Jiang Yan didn't hesitate. Instead, she assumed a fighting stance, her fists clenched and her eyes focused on her opponents. The men began to close in on her, and she could hear the sound of their heavy footsteps as they approached.

The first man lunged at her, his fist flying towards her face. Jiang Yan moved with lightning speed, dodging the punch and delivering a swift kick to his midsection. Her movements were fluid and graceful, but her strikes were deadly.

The man stumbled back, clutching his stomach in pain.

The next man came at her from behind, but Jiang Yan was ready for him. She spun around and delivered a powerful roundhouse kick, sending him crashing to the ground.

The fight continued like this, with Jiang Yan moving with incredible speed and agility, taking down one man after another. She was a blur of motion, her strikes precise and deadly.

The leader of the group watched in disbelief as his men fell to the ground, one by one. He realized too late that he had underestimated Jiang Yan's fighting skills.

The defeat of his men had sent the leader into a fit of rage. He gritted his teeth, his eyes blazing with fury, and charged towards Jiang Yan, his fists raised high.

Jiang Yan had just defeated the last of the men and was preparing to leave when she heard a sound behind her. Instinctively, she spun around, her fists raised and ready to fight. However, it was too late. The leader of the group had launched a sneak attack, catching her off guard.

With lightning speed, the leader of the group landed a blow on Jiang Yan's side, causing her to stagger backwards. Pain shot through her body, and she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. She knew that she was in trouble.

But just then, someone intervened. Jiang Yan turned her head and was surprised to see Feng Yuansheng standing there, his face set in a grim expression.

"Feng Yuansheng?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "What are you doing here?"

Feng Yuansheng didn't say anything. Instead, he moved with lightning speed, launching a series of devastating attacks on the leader of the group. Jiang Yan watched in awe as Feng Yuansheng's fists flew through the air, striking the leader with incredible force.

Within seconds, the leader was defeated, lying on the ground in a crumpled heap. Feng Yuansheng stood over him, his expression unreadable.

Jiang Yan couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Feng Yuansheng standing before her. She had always known him as a businessman, and she had never seen him in such a dangerous situation before.

"How did you find me?" she asked, still trying to process the fact that Feng Yuansheng had come to her rescue.

Feng Yuansheng didn't answer her question. Instead, he turned his attention to the leader of the group, who was writhing on the ground in pain.

Jiang Yan followed his gaze and turned to face the leader as well. She knew that she needed to find out who had hired them to follow her.

"Who hired you to follow me?" she demanded, her voice firm.

The leader groaned in pain, but managed to look up at Jiang Yan. "I don't know," he said, his voice strained. "We were just following orders."

Jiang Yan turned back to the leader, her eyes narrowing. "What kind of orders?" she asked, her voice tense.

The leader hesitated for a moment before finally speaking. "We were ordered to ruin your innocence and take scandalous pictures of you," he admitted, his voice low.

Jiang Yan felt her blood boil at his words. She could guess who was behind this. Infact her kidnapping at the village was also done to ruin her reputation. So despicable!!

Feng Yuansheng glared at the leader, and the atmosphere suddenly got colder. Jiang Yan could feel the tension in the air, and she couldn't understand why Feng Yuansheng suddenly got so worked up.

Jiang Yan asked the leader again," I am giving you one last chance, tell me who ordered it." She needed to confirm her suspicion.

The leader looked up at Jiang Yan, his expression filled with a mix of fear and shame. "I...I don't know who ordered us to do it," he finally spoke up, his voice low and hesitant.

Jiang Yan's eyes narrowed. "You expect me to believe that?" she retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You and your men were sent after me with a specific mission, and you expect me to believe that you don't know who gave the orders?"

The leader flinched at her words, but remained silent.

Before she could ask anything else, she felt a pair of strong hands pulling her up by the arms. Jiang Yan looked up and saw that it was Feng Yuansheng who had lifted her. She was surprised at how easily he had lifted her, despite her struggling.

Yet she felt a strange sense of comfort in Feng Yuansheng's arms. She couldn't explain it, but she felt safe with him.

Suddenly, the place was swarmed by men in the same uniform as Feng Yuansheng. They quickly handcuffed the defeated leader and his men, securing them for transport to the police station.

Jiang Yan watched as the men moved with military precision, their movements quick and efficient. She realized that they must be part of Feng Yuansheng's security detail.

Feng Yuansheng stood beside Jiang Yan, watching as the group of attackers were led away by his men. Feng Yuansheng turned to Jiang Yan. "Are you alright?" he asked, his eyes searching hers.

He had always been there to help her, but he never said much. Jiang Yan had grown used to his cold and silent demeanor, but she still appreciated everything he did for her.

As Jiang Yan removed her arm from his, Feng Yuansheng felt a pang of regret. He missed the warmth of her touch.

Jiang Yan nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the man who had saved her. "Thank you," she replied softly. "I owe you, my life," she said, her voice filled with sincerity.

Feng Yuansheng merely nodded; his expression unchanged. He looked at Jiang Yan, "Let me drop you off at your hotel," he said. Jiang Yan hesitated for a moment, then softly refused. "You have already helped me a lot. I don't want to bother you anymore," she said.

Feng Yuansheng was firm in his decision. "I won't leave you here alone," he said. Jiang Yan was touched by his kindness but still hesitated, she didn't want to bother him. Before she could reply, she winced in pain, clutching her foot.

Feng Yuansheng quickly bent down to check on her wound. "It's sprained," he said, looking up at her. Jiang Yan was surprised at his warm gesture. The Feng Yuansheng she knew from her previous life was not this kind. He didn't even come home when she had a high fever. It was the house butler, Uncle Wang, who took care of her.

As Jiang Yan was lost in her thoughts, her world suddenly spun around, and she found herself scooped into Feng Yuansheng's arms. "What are you doing?" she asked, surprised.

"I'm taking you to the hospital," he replied, his voice firm.

Jiang Yan tried to protest, "It's really okay, I can walk by myself." But Feng Yuansheng remained silent and started walking.

Jiang Yan felt a strange warmth spread through her body as she looked at Feng Yuansheng's expression. It was different from what she remembered. His face was soft, his eyes filled with concern. His behaviour really confused her.
