Chapter 31: I am sorry

Yun Cheng was sitting in the car, staring out the window with a crestfallen expression. He missed his third uncle, who had been away for too long, and he was also sad that he was unable to meet his pretty sister today. He leaned over the front seat and asked Li Ming, "Uncle Ming, when will Third Uncle come back?"

Li Ming was about to answer when he suddenly gasped, pointing out the window. Yun Cheng followed his gaze and saw his third uncle, Feng Yuansheng, walking towards the car. But there was someone in his arms, and Yun Cheng couldn't make out who it was.

As they got closer, Yun Cheng's eyes widened in surprise and happiness as he realized that it was his sister, Jiang Yan, in Feng Yuansheng's arms. "Pretty Sister!" he exclaimed, unbuckling his seatbelt and jumping out of the car.

Meanwhile, Li Ming's eyes was still widened in shock as he watched Feng Yuansheng carrying a woman in his arms. He couldn't believe his own eyes. His boss was known for being extremely particular about his behaviour in public and avoiding women at all costs. It was a well-known fact that Feng Yuansheng's personal life was a mystery, and he rarely interacted with women outside of work.

As he stood frozen in disbelief, Li Ming couldn't help but wonder what had happened to cause such a drastic change in his boss's behaviour.

Yun Cheng ran up to Feng Yuansheng and Jiang Yan, and hugged his sister tightly. "Pretty Sister, are you okay? What happened?" he asked, looking at her worriedly.

Jiang Yan was surprised to see that Yun Cheng was here too. She smiled weakly and said, " I sprained my foot, but I'm fine. Thanks to your Third Uncle."

Feng Yuansheng turned to Yun Cheng and spoke calmly, "Let's get your pretty sister into the car first." Yun Cheng nodded eagerly and quickly opened the back door, allowing Feng Yuansheng to carefully place Jiang Yan on the seat.

Once Jiang Yan was seated comfortably, Feng Yuansheng turned to Li Ming, who was in the driver's seat, and gave him a clear order, "Take us to the hospital." Li Ming quickly started the engine and drove the car towards the nearest hospital.

As they drove away, Yun Cheng couldn't take his eyes off his pretty sister and his third uncle. He looked at them in awe, wishing he could be like Feng Yuansheng and carry his pretty sister too. He then looked down at his hands and legs and frowned. He knew he had to wait and become strong like his third uncle.

Feng Yuansheng who had been looking at Yun Cheng was amused at his actions. Did he wanted to carry Jiang Yan himself?

Li Ming, on the other hand, was still in shock, and couldn't help but glance at his boss and Jiang Yan in the rear-view mirror. He wondered what had happened to make Feng Yuansheng break his own rules about being around women.

As soon as they entered the room, the doctor looked up and was surprised to see Feng Yuansheng. But more than that he was shocked to see Feng Yuansheng carrying a woman.

"Third Master Feng, what brings you here today?" the doctor asked, his eyebrows raised in surprise.

"She has sprained her ankle," Feng Yuansheng said, his voice calm and composed.

Though the doctor was actually startled to see a woman beside him, he maintained his professionalism and gestured for Jiang Yan to sit on the examination table. As he checked her ankle, Feng Yuansheng stood beside him, looking intently at the doctor's hands. Feng Yuansheng stood beside them, watching the doctor's every move with intense concentration.

The doctor couldn't help but feel nervous under Feng Yuansheng's gaze. He felt like he was a doctor in a royal court whose slightest mistake could cost him his hands

After a few minutes of examination, the doctor finally spoke. "It's a normal sprain," he said, handing a prescription slip to Feng Yuansheng. "She'll need some rest and these medicines."

Before Li Ming could take the prescription slip, Feng Yuansheng snatched it from the doctor's hand. He skimmed through it before handing it over to Li Ming. "Go buy these medicines," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Jiang Yan protested, "I can buy them myself; you don't have to-"

But Li Ming quickly cut her off. "It's no trouble at all," he said, bowing respectfully. "You are our Young Master Yun saviour, so buying these medicines is the least we could do."

With that, Li Ming left to buy the medicines before Jiang Yan could protest further. The doctor, too, left hurriedly, feeling relieved that the examination was over.

As Feng Yuansheng and Jiang Yan waited for Li Ming to return, they sat in silence, both lost in their thoughts.

Just then Yun Cheng climbed over the bed, and sat beside Jiang Yan. "Pretty sister, I missed you so much," he exclaimed.

Jiang Yan smiled and hugged him tightly. "I missed you too, silly. But we just met yesterday, didn't we?" she replied, amused by his affection.

Yun Cheng shook his head. "No, I really missed you a lot," he insisted, looking up at her with big, innocent eyes.

Jiang Yan's heart melted at the sight of her adorable little boy. "Oh, you're such a cutie," she said, ruffling his hair.

"Guess what!" he exclaimed to Jiang Yan, "I saw you at the concert today!"

Jiang Yan looked at him, surprised. "What? You were at the concert too?" she asked.

"Yes, pretty sister! I was waiting for it to end so I could come talk to you," Yun Cheng said, grinning.

Before he could say anything else, Feng Yuansheng, cleared his throat loudly. "Yun Cheng, come here," he said.

Yun Cheng obediently walked over to Feng Yuansheng. "Let Jiang Yan rest, she's probably tired," he said, glancing over at her suspiciously.

Jiang Yan's eyes narrowed at Feng Yuansheng. "What's going on?" she asked, confused.

Li Ming entered the room holding a paper bag with the medicine, interrupting their conversation. "Sir, here are the medicines for Miss Jiang," he said, handing the bag over to Feng Yuansheng.

Jiang Yan felt annoyed by Li Ming's gesture. "Excuse me, I'm the one who needs the medicine," she said with a hint of irritation.

Feng Yuansheng gave her a knowing look before walking towards her. "We will drop you at your hotel," he said, extending his hand towards her.

Before Feng Yuansheng could carry her again, she abruptly stood up, testing her foot and confirming that it felt much better than before. "Thank you for your help, but I can walk on my own now," she said, smiling at him, "And I can make my way back to the hotel alone as well."

Feng Yuansheng nodded, understanding her embarrassment. "Of course, Miss Jiang. I apologize for any discomfort I may have caused you earlier," he said, his tone sincere.

Jiang Yan couldn't help but be surprised at Feng Yuansheng's sudden apology. She had always known him as a cold and calculating businessman, and this kind of gesture was completely unexpected.

Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked at him, trying to read his expression. Is this really Feng Yuansheng? What's with his apology?

"Uh...it's okay," she said, still a bit stunned.

Feng Yuansheng fixed his gaze on Jiang Yan and suggested, "Allow us to accompany you back to the hotel."

Jiang Yan hesitated for a moment, but then Yun Cheng piped up, "Please let us take you back, Pretty sister."

Jiang Yan couldn't resist the cuteness in Yun Cheng's voice. "Okay," she said with a smile.

Madam Tian had been waiting anxiously for this call for what felt like an eternity. She had been anticipating this news all day, and the suspense was almost unbearable. She had paid a great in these people to get her work done, yet there was no news at all. What was taking so long?

As the phone finally rang, Madam Tian's heart skipped a beat. Without any delay, Madam Tian answered the phone, her voice trembling with excitement. "Hello?" she said eagerly, holding her breath.

But as she listened to the voice on the other end, her anticipation quickly turned into frustration and anger. The news was not what she had been hoping for. The person she had entrusted with this crucial task had failed to deliver, and Madam Tian was furious.

As Aunt Chen observed Madam Tian's reaction, her heart sank. She had been the one tasked with overseeing the mission, and she knew that she had failed. Her hands trembled at her sides as she watched Madam Tian's face darken with anger.

The disappointment was too much to bear, and Madam Tian slammed the phone down on the table, causing the people around her to turn and stare. Her face twisted with rage, and she muttered a string of curses under her breath.

"Jiang Yan!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the empty space. "You sl*t!"
