CHAPTER 53- ADJUSTING TO CHANGE.

Mera hugged her pillow tighter, immensely enjoying her sleep. Blindly searching for Dexter, she reached out to the other side of the bed, but he wasn't there. Frowning, she slid her eyes open, rubbing them to clear her fuzzy vision.

It wasn't that late, but the sun was already quite up, letting some warm rays of sunlight into the room. Where was Dexter? Mera thought, her eyes searching for him in the room.

Just then, she noticed that their bed was covered in rose petals. Mera gasped, letting out a chuckle in delight. Picking up a handful of rose petals, she inhaled deeply, before blowing on them so that some flew right to the floor.

Her eyes caught sight of a small note on the bedpost and she snatched it up immediately, unruffled when she recognised Dexter's handwriting on it at once.

'Good morning, dear sweet wife,' the delicate writing read. 'Please come to the garden for breakfast, just you and me. Wear something nice.'
