As if the danger looming below just about a hundred feet beneath them had not been enough, it started raining heavily. There had not been a need for torches afterall.

Every now and then, jagged sabres of lightning would dart here and there from cloud to cloud, illuminating everywhere in a spectral light for a brief moment, before plunging them into darkness once more.

Bren made a futile attempt at shaking off the pelts of rain drenching his face and everything else he wore, but it made no difference.

More ice cold water poured down from the heavens in rivers. Darian was beginning to feel that he could not bear the agony of this thin drawn, silent wait. The suspense was becoming too unbearable for him.

A loud boom of thunder shattered through the silent night, followed by Sharp streaks of lightning slicing through the clouds as finely as a knife through cheese.

Darian turned to face Dexter. "How long do you think we're going to have to remain like this brother?" He asked.
