Cindy Richards stared at the red marriage certificate in a daze. Never in a million years did she think that this would happen to her. Alexander Sterling was right by her side carrying the same book. He was holding it a little too tight.
Cindy Richards stared at him, "I know this may have been not what you wanted but let us do this for a year then we can go our separate ways."
Alexander Sterling's jaw tightened all of a sudden, "Do you want to separate that badly?" He asked.
Cindy Richards thought about it for a little while, "We don't really like each other so there is no reason to stay together that long."
She thought her answer was very right but Alexander Sterling's face became uglier. Talking about such things now was not ideal. There was one thing they had to agree on though and that was where they were going to stay.
Alexander looked at her, "Are you comfortable staying at the Diamond Palace?"
Diamond Palace was the place he had shared with Carmen for the last three years. Cindy Richards felt as if staying there would be a little disrespectful so she declined, "Let us buy a new place. We can have someone clean Diamond Palace once in a while."
She could not bear to let it go either. The place held a lot of Cindy Richards' memories.
Alexander Sterling did not object. They could do this her way, "I will have someone buy a place or we can have a house built, your choice."
Cindy Richards felt like building would be a lot especially since they were going their separate ways soon anyway.
She looked away, "Let us buy a place. It will be easier to sell later."
Alexander Richards nodded and said nothing more. He took out his phone and made a quick call to someone. Cindy stayed by the side to wait for him to finish.
She looked at the red book in her hands once more. Hers and Alexander's signatures were clear as day and the stamp danced around her eyes madly. She had actually married Alexander Sterling, this was just as crazy as it sounded.
She watched as he spoke on the phone. He was very tall and his devilish handsomeness shone in the morning light. It was this face of his that Cindy fell in love with first. She had fallen deep.
If this marriage for convenience did not happen then she would have definitely stayed single for the rest of her life because no matter how much she thought about it, Alexander Sterling was really the standard. No one could surpass him in her heart.
She was going to stay with him for a full year and she was suddenly scared of what would happen in the future. She needed to lay some things straight like what she was going to do after this.
She was still going to school so when Alexander walked over to her after ending his call, she started, "I have one year of school left, I will still have to travel abroad for the classes."
Alexander looked at her, "I will speak to the administration. You can still attend the classes while staying here."
Cindy chuckled, "Is everything that easy for you?"
Alexander raised his eyebrows slightly and Cindy immediately understood.
Alexander was the youngest person ever listed in the Forbes Under Forty magazine, he was also on the cover. Sterling Corporation was big and their revenue was extremely high as the Chairperson, Alexander would definitely be the man to receive all the glory.
Cindy chuckled and walked away towards the waiting car.
Alexander Sterling looked at her back and then down at the certificate he was still holding in his hands. A small smile suddenly spread on his lips brightening up his impeccable features. He sighed deeply, "One day, Cindy Richards, one day."
He followed her to the car.
The ride back home was silent. They needed to pack some of their stuff to move to the house Alexander had bought. The rest of the things would be sent over later.
The house Alexander had bought was a bit close to the Sterling Corporation for convenience purposes. They even passed by the building on their way.
Cindy Richards looked out, "I have not been inside the Sterling Corporation for a while now, I wonder how much it has changed."
Alexander put down the documents he was holding, "Do you want to see it now?"
Cindy smiled, "No need, I will see it in the future anyway."
The car remained silent after that.
They arrived at the house minutes later.
The house Alexander chose was a bungalow. It was smaller than Diamond Palace and it fit Cindy's personality best. She looked at the house in satisfaction. Alexander Sterling looked at her from the side, "Do you like it?"
Cindy nodded slowly and entered inside. The design was simple and very homey. There was even a small fireplace at the side. Everything had been decorated according to Cindy's liking. She looked at it and felt strange.
There were two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a dining area. There were two bathrooms as well. Alexander probably thought this through before he got the house.
They were not going to share a room anyway so this was not such a bad idea.
Cindy suddenly realized that Alexander really understood her. From what she liked and how she thought, he seemed to have all of these in the palm of his hands, it was a bit strange.
She put her things in one bedroom while Alexander put his on the other.
It was still a bit early so Alexander had to go back to work. He looked at Cindy Richards deeply before he left, "If you need anything just give me a call."
He turned around but Cindy Richards suddenly realized and called after him, "I don't have your phone number!"
It was strange for a husband and wife to not have each other's numbers. It was also a little embarrassing. Alexander turned around and chuckled, "Don't worry, I have yours. I will give you a call later!"
