…
Daniel Owens had noticed something was wrong as well. He knew the madam was not quick to anger as he had come to realize but ever since she started working here she was always frowning at all times.
The first time Daniel met Cindy was at Alexander's wedding to Carmen Richards, Cindy's sister. Back then she did not speak much and was jovial. She walked with a soft smile but he had yet to see the smile these days and that had to do with something or someone at the company!
Daniel had to find out what was happening!
…
Cindy walked out of Alexander's office in quick steps.
Joanna Bloom and Sharon Toll were standing by the side looking at her with identical smirks on their faces.
All of this was because of Cindy's face which she now realized looked quite puffy after crying in Alexander's office. She quickly made a trip to the bathroom to was off the tears and to cool down before getting back to work.
She wanted to be left alone but the person she did not want to see the most was looking at her through the mirror. There was a small smile on Joanna's lips, "How does it feel, being scolded by the boss?"
Cindy Richards felt like plucking the hair from Joanna Bloom's head strand by strand. She did not know whether she would ever be on good terms with this woman.
She scoffed, "Why is it that you are everywhere like a ghost?"
Joanna Bloom laughed sarcastically, "Of course I have to be everywhere! I have to curse the people who are an eyesore until they realize they do not belong here!"
This again! Cindy Richards thought.
Ariana had told her about how Joanna always sent away new female employees or interns away if she did not like them. She always says bad things about them to Sharon Toll who would send the report upwards and the female employees would either be fired r sent away to a different branch.
It was such a shame that Cindy knew Alexander personally or else with Joanna's methods, she would have already been sent away!
Cindy looked at Joanna and scoffed, "How about we wait and see, who will stay and who will leave?"
Joanna Bloom's eyes changed, "Are you challenging me?"
Cindy nodded, "I already took away your biggest artist so you have nothing to account for. You are only left with the option of dealing with the smaller artists and making life hard for people in the office. What are you going to do now? A good for nothing who only gets respect by using the CEO's name!"
Joanna Bloom's face turned red from anger, "You…you…what did you just say?"
No one dared to speak to her in such a manner and even their department boss, Sharon Toll respected her so much that she dared not breathe in front of her yet this little intern dared disrespect her!
It looked like Cindy was truly angry this time because she quickly spat, "You don't know who I am and you don't even know the methods I can use to make your life miserable. Go use the CEO's name on someone else but not me! This is my last warning!"
She then walked out leaving Joanna stomping her feet in anger!
Cindy returned to her seat and found a worried Benjamin and Ariana.
The latter looked distraught. He sighed, "Did he scold you?"
Ariana Stephens looked at Cindy Richards with her puppy eyes. Everyone was afraid of Alexander Sterling in the office. He was cold and ruthless and everyone who dared cross him face dire consequences and so Arianna was truly worried that Alexander had said something to Cindy to make her look like this.
There was pity inside of them that did not pass Cindy and immediately she started feeling sorry for herself too.
Alexander's words brought her heaven but his actions took her direct to hell.
She could not fathom why she still liked him so much despite everything that happened. Every time she saw him her heart would do some weird summersaults yet she still did not like it that he treated her the way he did.
He said they should have a deep talk on the weekend which was an excellent idea. They needed to have this conversation and Cindy Richards hoped she would have the courage to tell him she did not like his relationship with Joanna Bloom!
She sometimes could not fathom what sort of person he was even when they had known each other for a very long time now.
Benjamin was the only person who knew the relationship between Cindy and Alexander and the latter asking the former to meet him in the office may have not been out of anger but jealousy.
He was a man and when he recalled Alexander's eyes back at the club the other day, the worry inside them and how he looked at Cindy then he also knew a man who liked a woman like that was bound to get jealous when he interacted with other men.
He sighed as he looked at the flowers he had tucked carefully inside his arms, "I could talk to him, explain things."
Cindy heard that and surprise quickly flashed in her eyes. Benjamin knew something.
She smiled, "No need. We will clear the air another time, now I should probably tell you about how we will work."
Benjamin Clarke nodded his head, "Tell me…"
