Alexander's scent enveloped her, familiar and comforting. Cindy leaned back into his embrace, taking solace in his warmth. "It's Olivia," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alexander tightened his hold around her, his touch gentle yet reassuring. "I know," he said softly, his breath warm against her ear. "I heard about her leaving."
Alexander already knew about Olivia after the incident at the bar and since she was one of the people closest to Cindy, he kept an eye on her.
Cindy nodded, her eyes still fixed on the photo in her hands. "It just feels like a part of me is leaving too," she admitted, her voice laced with emotion.
Alexander turned her around to face him, his gaze soft and understanding. "I understand, sweetheart," he said, his thumb brushing away a stray tear from her cheek. "But you're not alone. I'm here for you, always."
