THE CONFRONTATION II

"Did you follow me there?"

His words were like a tasteless dish, but I couldn't ignore the sudden shift in his demeanor. His intense gaze that bore into my soul, added to the tension. Taking a deep breath, I composed myself.

I decided to match his casual tone.

"You keep flattering yourself, Liam. Do you consider me so petty that you came up with this assumption like I have nothing else to do other than following you around like a puppet?"

"You haven't given me a reason to believe otherwise. Prove me wrong and explain to me what you were doing at Club X."

Admitting it was tough, but Liam's instincts are pretty good. His suspicious mind when things weren't hitting off well is probably what made him so successful at his young age cause nothing goes unnoticed by him.
