VACATION II

I stared into the dressing ceiling-to-floor mirror, watching my pale face nervously as blush was applied to my face by one of the maids to enhance my cheekbones. Today is the first time I'm having breakfast with the Andersons again after fully recovering from the harm that was inflicted on me.

I'm not particularly nervous about eating with my soon-to-be in-laws, what I'm more concerned about is crossing paths with him, which I haven't done since my last encounter with him that resulted in our lips almost sealing.

I frowned when my wandering eyes around the corner of the mirror landed on the reflection of my bed. It's been a week since the incident with Liam in this room, but I can't seem to get anything that happened off my mind.

It was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I had told myself countless times that this was all just a charade, a means to an end, but the way he had looked at me and the way his lips had hovered so tantalizingly close to mine had shaken my resolve.
