Chapter 60- Simple plan~

A/N: - HUGE PATREON DEAL. THIS STORY WOULD ONLY PUBLISH ON- just kidding~

I hope you guys like the chapter~

--------------------------------------------------

[Haru's POV: ]

I had a purpose for allowing the Monarchs to touch even a strand of my body.

I wanted Sunbae to grow and know that I wouldn't be there to finish every fight in a blink. Well, I could do that without much hassle but what about the Shadow Monarch's emergence and the war with the Monarch of Destruction?

The reason why the rulers didn't act on their own was because they trusted Ashborn but not Jin-Woo. If things don't proceed how it was supposed to there would be a major shift in plot and maybe the Rulers might just activate the Cup of Reincarnation on their own.

I need to allow Sunbae's growth through battles with beings who are stronger than him. There surely was that event of the Architect but he needs to be stronger and better than he was right now to face that trial.

I had no idea why the Monarchs emerged as now but there was something I was sure of.

I won't let them kill a single person under my watch.

I have used my aura to protect others from being crushed under the intent of the Monarchs. These guys are just maniacs to emit such intense blood lust but well.

[You won't be able to maintain your defenses for long. ]

I didn't understand what the cheap copy of Avatar said but he seemed agitated by failing to freeze me up. I mean I could manipulate Infinity enough to decide what hits me and what not.

Exchanging blows with the Monarch of Claws and Fangs was a different thing but being a bonafide mage, I wouldn't allow my pride to get hurt by getting damaged by some cheap ice magic tricks.

[DIE! ]

The wolf roared like a fool from behind before I twirled in mid-air and launched a round hose kick with the help of the momentum.

The kick connected even though the beast had its claw reach me sooner than my counter. All hail infinity, that didn't let the sharp claw penetrate my skin but my kick to his torso surely connected.

**BOOOOOM**

I didn't hold back in that blow which surely could have killed even an S-rank or injured them heavily but expecting the same result from a Monarch...yeah, kind stretch.

'Sneaky bitch... ' I tilted my head to dodge the ice spear that rushed past the place where the center of my head was previously.

I turned to look at the elf who already had summoned dozens of ice lances after he froze Sunbae's shadow and the group of hunters while I was busy with the pup.

[You can dodge one but.... ]

Again, no idea what the hell he was spouting but currently my attention was congregated on the incoming lances.

I conjured my ring in the form of a dark raven spear. The head of the spear was half a meter long and the other end had a round tough marble embedded. I designed this weapon in my free time before coming to this raid.

*SUUUUU*

The lances pierced through the empty space and advanced in my direction at the speed of lightning. Maybe it was because of their streamlined structure, the speed seemed to have enhanced than the previous attack.

The first one was targeting my solar plexus and the following one, was my forehead. Two distinctive targets that could have made many confused about what to guard first, more so when the delay between the two lances was merely 0.2 seconds.

However, if I had gone down by this much, it would have been nothing but a shame on the teachings of my instructors back from Goddess Domain.

*CLING*

*DING*

A simple swat of my spear downwardly shattered the first lance and the butt of my weapon aligned to hit the second one.

It all went as I processed in my head.

Soon all the lances began to attack my vital regions but with the help of my spear, nothing else, I either dodged or shattered them into shards.

[Annoying...] The ice elf seemingly looked frustrated since despite manipulating all those lances independently, he wasn't able to land a single blow.

Soon mist began to gather around the elf's mouth, prepared to launch another attack but I didn't pay mind to him as my spear soon turned into a sledgehammer double the size of a baseball bat before I swung it with both hands, targeting the pup who was trying to sneak attack me from behind.

*BOOOOOOOM*

A thunderous roar made the ground shake as the beast monarch landed near Sunbae's group. I looked back at the elf and using my infinity I threw him away so I could reunite with the group.

Since it would have taken some time for the frosty to return, I decided to sort things out.

"Everything going well on your end, Sunbae?"

Jin-Woo was stunned to see Haru in this condition for the first time. He never was pushed to this extent even in the dungeons Jin-Woo put him into one after another, when they first met.

It made him realize once again, how unprepared they were to fight such beings as of now.

"Are you alright? Can you continue to fight?"

Jin-Woo asked with traces of anxiety blended in his voice. It surprised Haru but he didn't point it out and assured his senior, "I am good to go for three or four rounds. But before that... "

Haru extended his left hand toward the incoming hordes of huge insects and undead. Those things easily could be regarded as in three digits yet Haru seemed nonchalant about it with his eyes never turning toward the incoming danger at all.

"Hunter Cha, wait. " Jin-Woo raised his arm to stop the blond hunter who was about to launch herself toward the stampede.

"Hunter Jin-Woo!?" Baek Yoon-Ho exclaimed in an apprehensive tone yet Jin-Woo remained rigid at his spot wordlessly.

The White Tiger guild master was about to break Jin-Woo's command to seize fire and was about to claw the lives out of those pests when suddenly he felt mana gathering around the youngest hunter and a dark blue whirlpool appearing at the front of his palm.

"Curse Technique: Lapse Blue."Only some simple words of a fancy skill yet the implications of those words were devastating.

All the insects and undead, big or small, strong or not began to get pulled into the vortex which levitated in the middle of the horde after being released by the chanter.

The Monarch of Plague pulled the Beast monarch away from the vortex before she made some distance from the humans to rejoin with the Monarch of Frost.

Thanks to that, Haru got himself some time to send those people away who would only become a liability by remaining here.

"Hunter Baek, I will heal Hunfer Choi and throw you all toward the water. You and Hunter Ma escort everyone to the nearby ship and alert them about the situation, alright?"

"But Hunter Haru we can fight as well..." Baek's voice died down when Haru side glanced at him with those peculiar yet cold eyes of his while he continued healing Hunter Choi.

"I doubt that Mister Baek and needlessly arguing here would only be advantageous to our enemies. Please retreat now and strengthen the backup, alright?"

Baek Yoon-Ho nodded bitterly as the argument died down soon after.

Once, Baek Yoon-Ho, Ma Dong-Wook, Choi Jong-In, and the cameraman were thrown away, only four of them were remaining on the island.

Using his skill, [Regrowth] Haru helped everyone replenish their condition.

"So what's the plan?"

Jin-Woo asked as he sensed the danger was about to reappear very soon. For some reason, the monarchs weren't using their teleportation like earlier but that was a plus for the group after all.

Haru remained silent for a bit before he looked at Jin-Woo and with a mischievous smile announced, "It's simple. You have to kill them all, Sunbae."
