Chapter 69- Inspection

"So, where is Dad?" It was after having a long conversation with the Sung family that Yumiko finally bid farewell and along with her son, boarded the car.

"Busy with his guild work. That place has been in turmoil since the incident of Jeju-do." Haru chuckled hearing that as he heard his mother continuing.

"The Chairman is forcing your Dad to call you back and serve Japan. But you know Reiji. He won't let anyone coerce him that easily."

Haru could envision the immense pressure his father must be under. Witnessing Haru effortlessly obliterate such inconceivably formidable monsters with a mere snap of his fingers was likely a profound shock to Shigeo.

'Should I pay a visit to Japan after all...' The matter with the Japanese Hunter Bureau was turning problematic and Haru had the perfect solution to erase the source.

"Anyways, are you sure we shouldn't consult a doctor first? I am really worried about you, baby." It was maybe the eighth time Yumiko had asked the same thing and Haru's answer never wavered, "I am completely fine, Mom. No fatigue, no internal or external damage, and no trauma at all."

"If you say so..." Yumiko said in a quieter tone.

The ride back to his apartment soon came to an end before both of them got out of the car.

Haru had already explained to his Mom under what circumstances Kuroi and Riko were staying at his place. Well, that explanation mostly contained 'Because of some reasons which I cannot tell you...' yet Yumiko nodded in understanding.

Whether she doted on him a lot or maybe she was just that innocent, Yumiko barely declined any of his requests or scolded him for any of his decisions. Well, of course, going with the Monarch was one of those decisions that earned Haru a good scolding from his mother.

*Ding* *Dong*

After ringing the doorbell, it didn't take more than ten seconds before the door parted, revealing the black-haired caretaker, Kuroi.

"Good evening, Haruka-sama. Umm...are you by chance, Yumiko-sama?"

Yumiko smiled before nodding as she walked inside, "Yes, I am Yumiko. You must be Kuroi, right? I have heard from my son, a lot about you. Thanks for taking care of him in my stead."

Kuroi was slightly taken aback and flustered being praised by the lady of the house since from what Kuroi thought, Yumiko might have been really strict and wary of the uninvited guests.

As Haru entered the house, the first person his eyes landed on was a middle-aged man wearing a white coat and a stethoscope hanging around his neck.

Haru's eyes blanked as he stiffly turned his neck toward his mother...only to see her stealing her gaze away.

"Oh, what a coincidence to see you here, Doctor Kim."

'Coincidence my foot!' Haru snickered at his mother's bad acting before he sighed and led the doctor away to his room.

Since the doctor was already here, Yumiko would undoubtedly remain unconvinced unless a comprehensive body examination was conducted.

"This way Doctor."

Seeing her son consenting to get examined without any resistance, made Yumiko sigh in relief. It was then that her gaze suddenly landed on the person she had been ignoring until now.

"G-Good evening, Yumiko-san." A shy and slightly scared Riko stood in a corner as she bowed in greetings toward the lady.

Yumiko's eyes shone brightly seeing the adorable thing before she practically leaped her way toward the teenager.

"Riko-chan~ I finally got to see you."

Riko was completely taken aback by being hugged by the lady but she didn't resist at all. The warmth the embrace provided just made her mind numb for a moment but she was able to pull herself together soon after.

"It must have been tough for you..." Feeling Yumiko's hand rubbing her back slowly and hearing those heartwarming words made Riko feel slightly emotional.

While she knew that Yumiko had no idea what Riko had gone through, there's a comforting solace in being embraced like this, with someone attempting to shoulder and understand your sorrow.

After the doctor left, all of them decided to call it for the day since they already had their dinner and naturally Haru needed rest the most.

"Okay then, Haru. I will see you tomorrow." Yumiko was sharing the same room with the other two. It wasn't like there weren't any more rooms, but being a gossip queen, Yumiko couldn't let go of this chance.

Haru nodded and after receiving a soft kiss on his forehead, he returned to his room.

"Haah~Home sweet home~" Although it had been less than twelve hours since he'd left his bed, it felt as though an eternity had elapsed in that time.

The day was incredibly hectic and eventful.

He knew the raid of Jeju-do would be adventurous and thrilling but the appearance of the Monarchs was never in his plan. And of course, he could have never thought that those beings would rely on such a disgusting retort of kidnapping Jinah.

'As I thought...I should have tortured them a bit..." Remembering Jinah's crying face and how helpless she seemed, Haru's blood boiled and a feeling of regret emerged deep within that why he didn't vent his frustration on those two clowns when he had the chance.

'Well, I shouldn't focus on that for now...' There are various things Haru had to look out for if he wanted to end this mayhem once and for all and stop the Rulers from using the Cup of Reincarnation.

He has already devised a plan and even Jin-Woo couldn't be a part of that plan. Not just because there was information about the future involved but because this route would make Haru nothing but a murderer.

'Haah...well, everything will be fine until I can retain my memories.' With such thoughts, he closed his eyes and drifted into a sweet sleep.

*Bzzz*

"!!!" It was early in the morning when Haru felt his phone buzzing which urged his eyes to part immediately in the alert.

Taking hold of his phone from the nearby table, he looked at the caller's ID only to find his heartbeat rising.

*Tap*

[Hello, Haru?]

"Morning, Jinah."

"Ah..." Jinah, who was still in her pajamas, lying down on her bed and her phone connected to her ear, yelped in surprise upon finding Haru all of a sudden in her room.

For a moment she entirely forgot that he could teleport but when her composure settled, her eyes began watering, and before Haru could speak his next word, Jinah jumped toward him.

"Ah....easy there." He caught the girl in his arm which was slightly surprising, since Haru was still levitating in mid-air.

Jinah snuggled her face deep in his chest before mumbling, "I missed you...."
