Exhausting the Mental

Samael's eyes flashes excitedly as he saw about six people wearing black loose garments with leather armor on top. Even though he hasn't seen the world much, he can't mistake these people for any other than bandits.

It's either bandits or mercenaries, but he leans more toward the first.

Out of the six bandits that are responsible for killing the Demon Imp, two of them are driving a wooden wagon and one of them is wearing more protection. A belt strapped with a sword and also a chainmail underneath his leather armor.

From the looks of it, the brown-skinned man driving the wagon should be the leader.

Assessing the situation, Samael was surprised when there was an interface appearing right beside the leader of the bandits. 'Anti-System, what is this...?' he asked with his eyes fixated on the interface.

[It's called Analyzer Feature, a feature that can help the anti-host gauge the enemy's power]

[Notice: The Analyzer Feature can be upgraded at the expense of Anti-Points after the anti-host has fulfilled the requirement. In further upgrades, the Analyzed Feature will be able to analyze multiple enemies and tell how strong exactly the enemies are]

Upon reading this, Samael was thrown back by the convenience of this feature.

Some mages are equipped with detection spells that can gauge the enemy's strength, the Analyzer Feature should work like that but the thing is, detection spells can only be used by gifted mages.

Not all mages can learn this spell, and this shows that Samael is really lucky to have this.

[?????]

Race: Human

Level: 10~20

Ability: Earth Mage

Looking at the interface generated by the Analyzer Feature, he was only able to see the rough estimation of the brown-skinned man's level and also his ability. It's not a perfect identification but this can change as the Anti-System said in the future.

'10 to 20? Can I take on that guy?' Samael thought with a frown.

As of this current moment, he was not even level 10 yet but the brown-skinned man seems to be in the two digits which makes him higher-leveled than him. Knowing this, he has become cautious.

But then, a red holographic box appeared which erase Samael's will to disengage.

[Situation Quest is initiated!]

Realizing the betrayal of the anti-host's previous head maid, a burning seed of anger lingers inside the anti-host's chest. Vent the anti-host's anger at the six bandits until the anti-host is satisfied!

Quest Reward: 2,000 Exp, 500 Anti-Experience, 1,000 Points, and 500 Anti-Points.

Quest Failure: Rewards will be given to a person from the opposing side.

Just like the Situational Quest that he got before which leads to the incident of the Demon Serve, he gained another one which can lead to the same incident if he still refused to complete it.

Samael doesn't want that to happen again so the option of disengaging is no more.

On top of that, he still kinda wants to vent out his anger. Although he doesn't know how he's going to feel by venting his anger out on other people, he would stop thinking about it now and tend to it later.

'I need to aim for the leader first, but how can I do that...?' Samael thought.

While he was still hiding in the bushes, the group of bandits is already moving once again. Two on each side of the wagon to protect the flank, it seems the person inside the wagon is quite important to them.

But as Samael stalked them silently, his eyes lit up as he got an idea.

Casting a mischievous grin at the group of bandits, he disappeared into the bushes to commence the plan inside his head. Preferably, he wanted to do this without the help of Asher.

If he wants to be stronger, he would need to do these things himself as part of his growth.

"Stop smiling, I fucking hate it when you smile"

"What the heck is that supposed to mean? Are you picking a fight?"

On the left side of the wagon, two men with regular blades strapped on their waists seem to be bantering with each other. As they are tasked to guard the wagon, they are forced to walk on the side.

Maybe at first, it's not a problem. But in time, it gets boring for them.

Snorting at the man with long black hair that reaches his shoulders, the man was peaceful until he was mocked suddenly and then said, "I'm just imagining what I'll do with my part of the money from this transaction, maybe I'll go to the Deep Brothel. Sally is in town, I think I'll go ahead and do it with her"

"Damn degenerate, is sex all you can think of?" the long-haired man shakes his head.

But this clearly angers the other man that is only sharing his fantasy to kill the time and ease boredom. Just as he was about to defend himself, his attention suddenly shifted to the side hearing some movement in the bushes.

At this moment, the wagon is going down a road.

On either side of the road is a small slope covered with bushes and trees, it's quite a distance away so there's no way a magical beast can leap out of the bushes and catch them in surprise.

"Did you hear that?" the man asked with a frown.

The other man with black long hair glanced at where the man is looking before he shrugs his shoulders, "Hear what? Are your ears clogged with those lustful thoughts inside of your thick head?"

"Come on man, that's just fucking harsh!"

Just as the man was about to rebut that harsh remarks, his head snapped around once more at the rustling sound of the bushes. However, this time, his eyes stared in shock and terror as he caught sight of a creature leaping toward him.

Due to the distance between them, the man is able to react properly.

Counting on his reflex alone that has been honed for battle, the man unsheathed his sword and instinctively hack it at the creature with a decent swing. But instead of slicing the creature, the sword was stuck to its skin.

Looking up at the creature while clashing, the man can feel his blood runs cold.

"Wait a damn minute, didn't this thing was killed before?! Fuck, help! It's the same ugly bastard from before!' the man shouted, realizing that the winger creature that attacked him is the same one that the group dealt with a moment ago.

It's unclear whether it was really the same creature or if there were more of them.

The man with black long hair also unsheathed his sword in surprise catching sight of this winged creature, he then quickly jumps at the rescue and tries to fight off this grotesque winged creature once again.

Clang!

Clang!

Each of their clashes creates sparks, and also clanging sound that rings the eardrums.

Although the winged creature is clashing against its swords with its own skin, the sound produced was not a sound that a blade-hitting flash should make. It was like steel hitting steel instead.

Upon hearing the commotion, the wagon stopped as the others look at the fight.

The brown-skinned man who is driving the wagon looked back and saw that the winged creature is back once again, a hint of shock can be seen in his facial expression when he saw this scene.

"Another one...? Just what is that thing?" he mutters as he got down from the wagon.

Despite his men being trained in combat of swordplay and also have years of experience in battle, they could not defeat this hideous beast in front of them that seemed to crawl out of hell itself.

It was he that disposed to this winged creature earlier, and it seems he ought to do it again.

While the brown-skinned man was unsheathing the sword from his belt, a layer of brown energy cloaked the blade of the sword before it was fully out of the sheath. "Get out of the way, I'll deal with it again"

Nodding their heads, the two men jumped back and let the leader deal with this.

Both of them sustain a few scratches here and there as the winged creature's claws were sharp enough to tear through their leather armor, and if not for the leader then they would have trouble taking this creature down.

Like a berserk animal, the winged demon went straight after the brown-skinned man.

Moving weirdly as it wails its claws left and right, clawing the air in front of it, the winged creature reaches the brown-skinned man in a couple of seconds. With a firm stance, the man readies his sword in front of him.

Clang!

Just as he blocked the winged creature's attack, the man frowned in surprise.

'Did it get stronger...? I didn't think the last one has this much strength' the man thought finding that the winged creature hits harder than before, but that doesn't dissuade him from being confident in taking it down.

Swish!

Exposing his mastery over the sword, the man fluidly blocks any attack that comes his way.

Although the winged creature is ferocious with its attack, keeping on the advance despite the counterattack it received, it eventually succumbs under the blade after dealing minimal damage to the man.

Slash!

Using a rising slash, the man was able to decapitate the winged creature cleanly.

The others cheered at this sight as the man's magically-infused sword sliced through the tough skin of the winged creature. Like before, it then quickly dissipated into a small flame before vanishing completely.

Even though alert arises inside of them, the group of bandits continues on their journey.

Many wondered where the hideous beast came from since they have never seen something like it, but they refrain from talking about it lest they jinxed themselves and got attacked by the same winged creature once again.

It was about five minutes later, the group has come to a stop like this.

Each of their hands started trembling slightly at the sight of the same winged creature coming out to block their way, including the leader that still has heavy breaths from the fight he did earlier.

A frown appeared on his face as he look at the winged creature dead in the eyes.

"What on earth is happening...?"
