Ardala let herself be nudged out the door, hearing Lady Dorwenna start ordering the others around as the door closed behind her. The two men surrounded her, Sir Ebon bringing up the rear with Sir Timothy in the fore. She was glad for that, if Sir Ebon had been in front she wouldn’t have been able to see where she was going. He was the largest man she’d ever seen in her life and intimidated her no small amount. Sir Timothy was smaller, but radiated intimidation as they passed down the hallway. No one approached and most of them clung to the walls to get out of the way of Sir Timothy’s ire.
“My love, you’re being too intense.” Sir Ebon said quietly from behind Ardala. “No one is going to harm the High Princess in the palace.”
