Chapter 44

“Nah, she’d be happy to have more people at the table.” Jake pulled out a clump of wires and set them to one side. “The pack’s separated again and Rosa and her wife are off on their honeymoon so Granny’s probably lonely rattling around in that big house with only the two of us for company.”

Siana left soon after getting the directions to Maria’s house but agreeing to meet Jake and Jon at their place at sunset so they could go together. From there she wandered, she had no idea how to contact Pryderin and in the absence of Gladys, no way to really find out. Maybe Naerin would know.

So that was her next stop, she’d go talk to her fake boyfriend and see if he knew how to contact Pryderin. She walked back through the town, out to the beach. He’d said that he lived out by where the beach went to stone, so she’d walk along the tide line until she found it. Siana took her shoes off, no sense in getting them wet and sandy and the cool sand of the tideline felt nice on her feet.
