Chapter 61

Siana blushed, the want for him to kiss her rushing through her head with tidal force. “I’m a mess, Naerin, sometimes that’s all I can see from where I’m standing.”

“Where does the magic light in you?” Naerin asked quietly, letting her go. “Mess is part of being human, Siana, give yourself some grace please.”

“I-“ she looked down at the magic and concentrated. The pull in her chest became a glow and the magic began to wind faster and faster. It condensed into a small, bright ball that was visible even when her eyes were focused. The glow got brighter and brighter until the tiny sphere burst in a wave of concentric circles that spread out and out until they hit something and bounced back. The waves went back and forth and for every pass, she watched Naerin wince a little bit.

Siana reached out and grabbed the wave, pulling it to a halt and looking at Naerin. “I don’t know what to do with it now.”
