Our War!

Early the next day, Kosuke's phone call came in.

"I say, Dad, did you really play the game at all? Why are you calling back so fast?" Homura said speechlessly.

"You have so little confidence in your own work?" Kosuke's voice sounded playful.

"What are you talking about?" Homura was a little confused.

"I wouldn't bother to stay up all night immersing myself to conquer your game if that was the case."

So, doesn't that mean that his father was deeply attracted by the game?

Homura breathed a sigh of relief. "So, what do you think?"

"What do I think? How about we use the best voice actors from our Minamiya family's voice actor agency?" Kosuke's answer surprised him.

"I think that suitability should be the top priority, and the best may not always be the most suitable," Homura offered his opinion. "Each voice actor has their own traits, and although I know that voice actors from the said agency are all talented, my work requires voice actors who have a good understanding of dialects. they don't have to be a big name, but they must be suitable."

Listening to his own son's words, Kosuke nodded in satisfaction, not being swayed by the words "the best".

However, this condition... Kosuke pondered for a while, and finally said, "How about personally selecting them? You can come and do it yourself."

Homura was also surprised. He didn't expect that he would have to come and select them himself.

After considering for a moment, Homura agreed, "No problem, when?"

"Afternoon! I'll notify them immediately. Half a day is enough for them to prepare. You can take the afternoon off from school. I'll send someone to pick you up!" Kosuke said quickly.

"Okay, I understand."

During breakfast, Homura brought up the topic of the voice actor selection process with the girls and they all understood. Then, Homura looked at Nanami and said, "Nanami, could you also take the afternoon off?"

Nanami was a bit confused as to why she needed to take time off.

Utaha also nodded in agreement and said, "Nanami should take the afternoon off. After all, she is the female lead. Even if it's just a formality, we need to make it clear to others that she was chosen based on her skills, not just because she was pre-selected. This is to avoid any gossip."

After hearing her explanation, Nanami understood the situation and said, "Alright, I will ask for permission from the teacher."

She felt excited as this was the day she had been waiting for. Her hard work had finally paid off, and it was all thanks to Homura. She looked at him with gratitude in her eyes.

Homura made a fist and said, "Let's do our best!"

Nanami also clenched her fist in response.

Toyogasaki High School, lunch break.

Homura quickly finished his lunch and waited outside the school gate. After a while, a car stopped in front of him.

"Young master, please get in the car!" said the driver.

Homura stopped the driver who was trying to open the door for him and got in the car first.

"Let's go to Suimei first."

"Yes."

Homura was impressed by the quality of his father's subordinates. They didn't ask any questions and just did as they were told. He quickly arrived and called Nanami, soon they were on their way to the voice actor selection place. He felt a bit disappointed as he had hoped to see his father there.

Upon arrival, he looked for any famous voice actors that he recognized from his past life, but he was unsuccessful. He didn't know if it was because they hadn't come or because they simply didn't exist in this world. Nonetheless, he focused on the selection process.

The process was quite boring, so it wasn't worth detailing. After five hours of selection, Homura finally chose several suitable voice actors. After notifying them that they would officially start work the next day, Homura and Nanami left the place.

The two of them returned to the Minamiya Residence. Nanami was fine, but Homura collapsed onto the sofa as soon as he arrived.

Eriri was puzzled, "Homura, why are you so exhausted?"

Homura replied weakly, "It's not my body that's tired, it's my heart."

"With each voice actor who came for the selection, I had to communicate with them personally, explaining which section they would be performing. As they performed, I had to continually integrate the impressions of both the voice actor and the character itself. For those who didn't perform well, I needed to give them some guidance and see if they could do better."

As they listened to him explain this long list of tasks, the girls' heads began to spin. Given how things were going, how could he not feel exhausted after doing this for five straight hours?

"Every industry is quite tough, isn't it?" Utaha sighed.

"Yeah!" Homura agreed, "I really don't feel like doing anything today. Can I leave dinner to you guys?"

Utaha and Eriri instantly stepped to the side, while Mashiro who wanted to speak up, suddenly got pulled back by Eriri.

Sagiri, who was well aware of her own shortcomings, retreated to the side.

The four members of the cooking-challenged team immediately backed away, leaving only Nanami and Megumi. He sighed helplessly and took out his phone.

"Elf, can you come and help us out?" Homura chose to ask for help from outside, "I don't feel like cooking today because of some things that happened. Could you come and help us out, and we'll all eat together?"

"Sure! This lady will be right there!" Elf's triumphant voice came through, "Today, I'll let you all taste this lady's true cooking skills!"

After hanging up the phone, Homura looked at them and said, "There shouldn't be any problems this time!"

"Yeah! I didn't know Elf-chan was also good at cooking!" Sagiri exclaimed, suddenly understanding.

"The food that Elf makes is also very delicious," Mashiro added, without any objection.

Megumi said, "Then let me, Nanami, and Elf take care of the cooking today."

Homura shifted to a more comfortable position and lay down on the couch, saying, "It's not bad to do this occasionally! You guys have learned a lot by helping me out cooking normally, and this time you can see your own progress!"

The other four, who were not cooking, all had a black line on their faces. They looked at him, who was giving directions but they couldn't say anything. They could only secretly complain to themselves, 'He just wants to slack off but still talks so self-righteously!'

*BANG!*

"This lady has arrived!" Elf pushed open the door and entered.

"I say, Elf, why don't you just have dinner together with us from now on! After all, we are all in the same circle," Homura said, looking at her.

Seeing his posture, Elf's eyes twitched and then exclaimed. "You're saying all that just so you can slack off right?!"

Homura slowly sat up and said confidently, "No way! Today, I took a day off because of the voice actor selection. It's our war tomorrow!"

Her attention was instantly diverted. "Huh? Voice actor? Is that for Your Name.? When are you starting to record?"

Homura nodded and said, "Yes. We'll officially start tomorrow!" Then he looked at Nanami and said, "Nanami, take another day off tomorrow. This is... our war!"

Nanami clenched her fists tightly and nodded heavily.
