His Sleeping Bride

From Micah's point of view, Caius is just interested in his little queen. Even Micah himself is quite curious why the human race decided to send a little girl here.

"Yes, Your Majesty is the king, and whatever Your Majesty says is always right," Micah said. "Nonetheless, I am a little curious about what the little girl sent by the human race looks like."

A purple light flashed in Micah's eyes. It fully shows his current excited state.

When a vampire's eyes turned purple, it usually meant that they had seen, or their mind was locked on prey.

Seeing this, Caius was immediately displeased.

"Micah, pay attention to your words; she is my wife, my queen," Caius said. His tone was full of warning; his last two words were very clearly emphasized.

"Hm?" Micah hummed in question, raised a brow, and said, "Don't tell me that the great vampire king, Caius Acheron, actually cares so much about a little human girl."

Micah was only joking when he said this, but when he saw the look on Caius' face, he immediately frowned, and the purple light in his eyes disappeared.

It looks like his friend did care about the little human girl.

"Caius, listen to me," Micah tried to explain amid his friend's darkening face. "I was just looking forward to the little human girl's arrival, so you don't need to get so angry, Caius."

"Leave," was Caius' stern order.

Micah didn't expect Caius to talk to him with such a strong tone. And even more so for a little human girl that Caius himself has never met before.

"Okay, okay, I'll leave." Micah sighed loudly and walked out in a fit of anger.

Micah is one of the vampires who dared to act so boldly in front of the vampire king himself, and he is one of the vampires who can gain the vampire king's goodwill and trust.

When Caius saw Micah storm out of his chambers, he suddenly felt that he might have been a little too angry before. His temper was out of control. He felt irritable and was outraged at Micah for being interested in someone he had never even met before.

That was strange.

But why did he feel so angry at that time?

Caius picked up the goblet on the table and quickly gulped down the red liquid inside.

Boundary

The horse-drawn carriage of the human race stopped at the border between the vampire realm and the human realm.

Venera, who was sitting inside, had no idea where she was, nor could she see what was outside with a thin, translucent red veil placed over her head. All she knew was that the carriage she was sitting on had stopped.

Has she arrived at her destination?

While thinking of this, she finally nodded off into dreamland.

Speaking of carriages, it was the first time that Venera saw such a traditional, ancient princess-like mode of transportation that she only read about in fairy tales. Who knew that she would one day sit in one? And now she was to be sent to her prince.

In such a modern world with cars, airplanes, and digital devices, seeing this carriage was just as rare as seeing a blue moon in the area she lived in.

Outside the carriages, the vampires stood in line at the border. They have been waiting here for the arrival of the human girl for a long time. In front of them stood the vampire king, Caius Acheron.

Caius glanced disapprovingly at the humans surrounding the carriage.

"Vampire... Vampire King, we... we have brought you your... your queen," a man said tremblingly.

Seeing that those humans were all slumped on the ground with limp legs and only a woman was left standing, the vampire king has a slightly better opinion of this female human. If he guessed correctly, this female human should be the one who will accompany his little queen to the vampire realm.

Even with many vampires present, the horses that were pulling the carriages looked normal since the vampire race's menacing aura was not aimed at them, only at the humans.

"Aren't you humans going to leave yet?" Caius said sarcastically. Following his words, all the humans who surrounded the carriages hurriedly fled the scene.

Caius' gaze swept past the fleeing humans, past Emily, and then onto the carriage, where his bride was silently waiting for him.

He was finally about to meet the little human he had heard of.

He walked closer to the carriage and opened the door, gently raising the delicate curtain covering the inside view of the passenger. Then and there, he saw his bride.

She was smaller than he had thought, and his little bride had already fallen asleep.

Caius could hear the steady breathing of his little bride, and the corners of his lips were unconsciously raised.

When Caius brought his little bride out of the carriage, the little bride covered by a red veil in his arms was startled awake, shocked, and a little confused. Caius greatly frowned when he realized that his little bride's dress did not fit her tiny body.

"Why does my—Caius'—wife not even have a suitable dress for her wedding? What do humans even eat and live for?"

His sudden roar completely woke Venera up from her daze, and she directly lifted the red veil on her head. Emily, who saw Venera's actions, wanted to go forward to help the little girl, but she dared not get close because of Caius' intimidating and terrifying presence.

Venera, who lifted the translucent red veil, held it in her hand as a makeshift blanket and rubbed her eyes, trying to get rid of her sleepiness.

"Hmm," Venera hummed softly. "Have I arrived?"

The soft and adorably immature voice of the little human in his arms reached Caius' ears, and he immediately turned his attention to her.

Venera also looked at Caius; her bright eyes seemed to be able to speak her thoughts.

"You are not afraid of me?" Caius asked. There was a hint of tenderness in his tone.
