You Look so Good

Venera smiled and giggled in response.

"Brother, are you here to pick me up? You look so good."

There were stars in her eyes as she said this.

The big brother in front of her looks really, really good, with pale skin, hair the color of the silver moon, and eyes as dark as the pitch-black night sky. He looked exactly like the prince of the night she read about in comics—the epitome of perfection. Very, very handsome.

No one has ever dared to praise him like this before, and Emily, who was watching the two's interaction, was also nervously sweating for Venera.

She was afraid that the ferocious vampire king would get offended by the little girl's words and was also afraid that both she and Venera would die in the vampire king's hands before the wedding ceremony. Hence, Emily could only glance anxiously at the two from a distance, hoping that the vampire king's temperamental self would not be unleashed.

Caius felt novel at Venera's praise. Although he knew that his appearance was top-notch, even by a vampire's high standards, no one had ever praised him so straightforwardly before.

And did his little bride just call him brother?

"What did you call me?" Caius smiled and asked.

"Brother," Venera easily repeated her words unabashedly. There was a very innocent and harmless smile on her face that somehow, in one way or another, melted the vampire king's stone-cold heart.

His liking for his little bride was undeniable, and he also laughed unknowingly.

The vampires behind their king opened their eyes wide at the scene. They were in shock and disbelief.

Was this still the vampire king that they knew? This vampire king was almost like an impostor!

"Aren't you afraid of me?" asked Caius. "I am a vampire."

Venera once again giggled at his words; her curved eyes looked impossibly clean and pure as she responded very naively, "Good-looking people must be very kind, and my brother is especially good-looking, so why should I be afraid?"

Being praised again by Venera, the slight smile on Caius' lips grew bigger, especially when hearing his little girl call him "her brother."

"Brother," Venera suddenly called out.

"Yes?" asked Caius while looking at the little human girl in his arms.

"Can you help me take this off?" Venera gestured to the veil in her hands. Some of the cloth was still stuck to the headpiece on her head, which she was not able to remove. "It is stuck in my head."

"Sure, that's easy to solve."

With a wave of Caius' hand, the red veil stuck on Venera's head was easily removed, and he threw it far away. The red veil slowly sailed in the wind and fell on a deserted area a distance away from the two.

Venera turned her head from left to right, seeming to be looking for something as she actively looked around the new environment she found herself in.

Where was Emily?

"Brother, have you seen sister Emily?"

Emily hurried over when she heard the call of her little girl.

"Your Majesty, I am here, so you don't need to be afraid."

At this moment, Emily had completely forgotten that Venera was in the arms of the cruel, bloodthirsty, domineering, temperamental, and intimidating vampire king. She stretched out both of her hands, seemingly wanting to reach out and carry the little girl in her arms.

Caius secretly approved of this human woman's address for his little bride, and his opinion of this female human was increased by one of ten thousand points from before.

His little bride will soon be his wife, so calling her "Your Majesty" was just right.

"Brother, this is Sister Emily." Venera gently tugged at Caius' suit that was in her little hands and introduced Emily to him.

Venera's thinking was very simple. She likes her sister Emily, and she also likes her brother Caius, so she wanted both of them to know each other. And therefore, they can all be one big happy family!

She is a genius!

It was only then that Emily realized that the great vampire king was still present in front of her, so she hurriedly performed the etiquette of the vampire race.

"Your Majesty the vampire king," Emily bowed and greeted with a hand crossed on her chest.

"Hm?" Venera blinked and asked, "Is Brother the vampire king?"

This one simple question quickly arouses Caius' curiosity. He wanted to know what his little bride's reaction would be after knowing that he is indeed the vampire king, and more so because he wanted to tease the little girl a little.

"Yes, I am the vampire king; are you afraid of me now?"

Venera looked at Caius and then huffed, her cheeks protruding out very cutely.

"Of course not, I am not afraid," she said. "All the people told me that I would marry the vampire king, and I don't think Brother is like what they had described."

"Hm, is that so?" Caius raised a brow. "Then what do they all say about me?"

"That you are bad and fierce, like a big bad wolf," Venera answered. "And my mother cried for a long time because of me." With that said, she lowered her head, and her starry eyes lost their luster.

Caius looked at the sad little girl in his arms but did not know how to comfort her, so he only gently patted her head. Then he turned his body and walked to the boundary, leaving a short sentence behind as an order for the rest of the vampires in the area.

"Let's head back."

Venera was chattering non-stop along the way in Caius' arms, like a little lively lark, and the vampire king's subjects could only watch as the vampire king carried his little bride into his castle.

This nineteenth bride of the vampire king does not look afraid of the vampire king at all. And Caius found out that the little girl's twittering was quite interesting; he patiently hummed and nodded in between her words as his response to her conversation.
