Shaking the useless thoughts that would not bring her to any conclusion out of her head, the little girl took a step forward. She stretched out her little hand and suddenly patted Gilead's large one, much to the man's surprise.

Gilead's first reaction was to frown. He had wanted to back away from such close contact, but he suddenly heard the little girl say in a childishly soft and gentle voice, "I know."

To be honest, Venera had initially wanted to pat the man's head just to see if his hair was soft or not, but he was just too tall for her to reach so high upwards, so she could only settle for the second best thing, which was to pat the man's hand.

Gilead frowned even more when he heard the little girl's words. He was confused. What does the little girl mean by saying the two words "I know"? What does she actually know?
