Is God There

"Phew... phew," Brandon took a deep breath after escaping from the bee. Leaning back, he tried to catch his breath and regain his energy.

"That terrifying presence couldn't be a high-level bee, could it be an elite bee?"

[There's a high chance that it is, Master] Luzbel commented.

His eyes lit up at the thought. 'If it's an elite beast, then it exists. Still, that power was too immense; I doubt even if I maximize my strength, I will be able to give it a battle.

Plus, I don't see any gain in sacrificing myself since it will give me the same as the other beasts.'

When he regained his energy, he remembered that he had gotten a new rune. He couldn't take off his clothes to find out where it was, so he decided to save it for later, but the AI interrupted him.

[The Rune was placed on your back after you eliminated the bee]

After knowing where his rune was located. He directed his energy to his back and activated the tattoo. A bee-shaped mist manifested and flew towards his back, turning into two pairs of wings.

"Wow" was all he could say.

Flying was the dream of many, but unless you were strong enough to control your energy and fly, you would need a skill. The wings were made of energy and looked like a mirage.

Soon his face fell. 'I look like a fairy with these wings; what will others think when they see a demon with fairy wings?'

Anyway, he couldn't do anything, so he accepted the wings. Moreover, they would be of great help to him. Now he could move without spending energy, and he could fly as well.

[*If the master allows me, I can analyze the wing's code and reform it into a new model.]

"How could I not think of that?" He said quietly, although, in truth, he had very little trust in the AI. Still, it was always there in the necessary moments.

'What can you do?'

[Changing the wing's design is possible with the current level of the master, but it's the only thing possible for the moment]

'Well, you can do it. I want bat wings,' he was excited about the idea of changing the wings.

[Rewriting code...]

[Estimated time... 21 hours]

"What, why does it take longer than healing my body?" He thought he could change it in a short time, but he would have to wait.

[The power is external to the master. Therefore, it consumes more energy and isn't as easy to modify as your body, which is a code in itself]

'Anyway, I don't have all day.' He got up from the ground and shook off the dust as he took position and flapped his wings.

The wings were like a part of his body after synchronizing, so he flapped them forcefully and took off at full speed.

Crack!

A tree creaked after Brandon crashed into it at full speed after taking off.

"Agh, my head... It seems that although the wings feel like a part of my body, I still have to learn how to maneuver them."

Flapping again, he took off again, although slower than last time. He moved between the trees at a considerable speed while getting used to his body's changing direction and leaning when necessary.

The practice was wonderful. He had been flying for an hour and felt more comfortable controlling the wings.

"Time to speed up." Flapping a bit faster, he flew deeper into the forest near the treetops.

Although he could fly, he stayed inside the forest because he could quickly find flying beasts outside the trees, though he avoided them.

*** 5 hours later ***

The sun was already starting to set and darkness was getting closer.

"The shelters always close at night, and almost no one leaves them," Brandon didn't understand why this was happening, and although he asked, everyone said the same thing.

"You can't say your names, or you'll die; if you go out after 6 hours after dark, you'll die."

This started after arriving at the shelter, and he really didn't understand what it meant;

He woke up on the top of a tree with back pain. "I'll have to bring a bed for these all-nighters," he thought as he felt sore.

Something else he took into account was that people avoided walking on the ground at night. He still didn't understand why this was, but it was a rule that everyone followed in the shelter.

He took out his magic tablet from school, which he still had and opened the map.

"I'm only a little more than halfway there. How much more do I have to go?"

After a while, he slowed down, looked around, and managed to see a branch connected with others and created a space large enough for a group to camp.

He landed on the branches, and looking around carefully, he picked up some small branches and used them to make a kind of leaf wall.

"Time to rest."

He took out packed meat, which he kept in his storage space and began to eat. Within this space, the meat doesn't rot or lose its temperature, so the food was still warm.

While eating his succulent leftover meat, a voice resonated in the forest.

"Help!" The voice seemed to be from a girl.

Brandon approached one of the leaf walls he had created and moved some to look down.

He could see a dark-skinned, long-eared girl being chased by three green beast-men.

Their bodies were robust and their faces round, while some fangs protruded from their mouths.

"Orcs," he commented in a low voice.

Sigh... "I guess I'll have to do what any average person would do in a situation like this."

Staring where they were heading, he flexed his neck and then leaned back.

"Not getting involved in things that aren't my concern; that's what any sensible person would do."

[I think it would be the opposite]

"You haven't lived much yet, so you don't know about these things, look at me and learn," he said with a smile.

Soon the screams disappeared into the forest, and Brandon continued to lie down. He was falling asleep when the same noise sounded again.

Opening his eyes again and covering his ears, he waited for them to leave again.

"Well, they're gone, now let me sleep..." Before he could continue his thought, the same girl came back again, asking for help.

The afternoon passed with the noise of the girl asking for help. Brandon's patience was almost running out when suddenly the noise stopped right under the tree he was standing on.

"Why didn't you come out to help me?"

A voice was heard loudly from the leaves. It was the same voice of the girl who had spent the afternoon asking for help.

Brandon took out his crossbow and loaded it with an electric arrow as he aimed it at the girl.

"Don't shoot, don't shoot."

Brandon was surprised to know that the girl knew he was aiming his bow at her. The hands stretched slowly through the leaves and the girl came in. "Can I stay here?"

"Who are you and how did you know I was here?" he asked, still aiming his bow at the girl.

With a slightly timid and scared look, she responded, "I could feel your presence here, that's why I came many times to ask for help. Still, you didn't come out to help me blatantly."

An electric arrow passed by the girl's face, cutting a tiny hair.

"Watch your words. I have no obligation to help you."

The girl trembled as tears ran down her face. Brandon didn't think about it, so he asked.

"Why were those orcs chasing you?"

The girl hesitated to speak, but she saw that he had another arrow aimed at her. 'Did I fall into a worse place?' she thought.

"First, let me introduce myself; my name is Mia and I belong to the tribe of Night Elves. I was on a team with the orcs you saw and another orc leader; we were hunting when we discovered something buried."

The girl's face became a bit serious when she said this, and she continued speaking.

"We saw a body with 6 wings, 6 faces, and 6 arms. Despite being buried, it retained its color and had a scroll in its hand. Everyone tried to take off its clothes and equipment, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't."

"I took the scroll, which did come off, and we all opened it. Inside... Inside there was a map and a note that said: 'Is God there?'"

Brandon's face became a bit gloomy. The gods could only be called those who had reached their peak of power, but this spoke more of a god in general.

"What is this?"
