Specter

*Deadly Forest*

Brandon kept his bow aimed at the girl after the discovery. At that moment, something came to his mind. "Wait, where are the people who were chasing you?"

"Don't worry, it's getting dark, so they decided to stop chasing me," the girl replied.

Brandon put away his bow while still keeping guard against the girl. She was a stranger, so he knew he couldn't sleep.

He wasn't interested in the map, which surprised Mia a lot. Brandon knew what she was thinking, but he didn't try to explain it.

After all, he had many things to do, so he didn't have time to waste.

"At dawn, you're leaving," he ordered.

Mia nodded and stood on the opposite side of the branch from him. Farther down the branch, Mia pulled out an ancient leaf.

This did not escape Brandon's eyes. He could deduce that this could be the map Mia was talking about.

He closed his eyes to rest, but still conscious, he began to mentally go over all the things he would do from now on.

"They're here," murmured Mia as she looked through a gap in the leaves.

Brandon didn't know what she was talking about, so he walked to the leaves and made a gap to look through.

Below, around the forest, there were transparent bodies with chains attached, not making any sound.

"What are they?" he looked at the girl's face knowing that she might know something.

"They're Specters. They're resistant to magic and physical attacks. The only thing that can harm them is light magic, lightning, martial arts, or illuminating magic.

If you don't possess any of these, it's better to run, or they will suck out all your life."

Brandon had previously read about Specters, so he was amazed to see so many in one place.

Specters appear in areas where there was a lot of death. These spirits did not go to limbo but instead roamed looking for life again.

He wanted to test his power and see how he would fare against these Specters and if they could give him any benefits.

Almost everything within the dimensions left an advantage, and these Specters would not be any different.

After thinking about it, he did nothing; he didn't have to show his power in front of the girl.

He stepped away from the wall and leaned against a tree for a while. He closed his eyes to rest a bit, and that's how the night passed.

[Design finished]

[Waiting for your permission to integrate wings]

"Do it." It was almost a day, so he had to get to the plateau soon.

Energy began to leave his body and began to move towards the rune on his back. The process felt like his back was burning as it erased and drew a new shape.

After a few minutes, the pain disappeared. Although he couldn't see the rune on his back, he knew it had changed, as he felt the burning, but he could tell it had a shape.

He opened his eyes and noticed that Mia was looking at him. She turned her head and looked away, only looking at him from the corner of her eye.

"I won't do anything. I just felt the energy coming from you. That's why I was a little alert."

Brandon didn't think twice and stood up from where he was and pulled out his wings.

The same mist turned into wings, but this time it was different from before. It was like worn-out dragon wings with a red tone on the inside covered in Brandon.

"Rune, dragon wings?" Mia's mouth was almost on the ground as she saw Brandon's tattoo. Everyone would know these wings were a rune thanks to the mist that arises when using it.

"How can you have these wings? There's no way there's a high-level dragon beast in the first kingdom. Plus, you'd be offending the dragon race by using them. Aren't you afraid of being their enemy?"

Looking at his wings, he realized they looked like a dragon, but of course, he had ordered bat wings. "What dragon are you talking about? These are bat wings," he said. He knew he would have to explain himself from now on, which would be tedious.

He considered changing them back and waiting again, but he denied that idea. He had no time to waste; whoever became an obstacle, he would trample over.

"Hey, they really do look like dragon wings," said Mia.

Brandon didn't explain and flapped his wings, causing the lush leaves to crumble. "It's time for our paths to separate. I hope our encounter doesn't bring me any trouble."

Flapping noisily, he rose as the leaves swirled.

Mia stared at him as he rose and began to move away from her. "Now, if I can fly with dignity," Brandon thought as he moved through the forest with his new pair of wings (a demon mask, black clothing, and bat wings combined with a crimson tone, a whole entity).

Thinking about this, he remembered the good old days, simple clothing, outdoors. He needed to find a way to become himself again. He sighed. "It's time to speed up and see a new world," he flapped and ascended out of the trees.

Soon he could see how that almost endless forest extended and connected with the desert.

It was a magnificent sight. He felt the wind hitting his clothes and putting pressure on him.

It felt great to fly with so much freedom. As Brandon enjoyed the pleasure, a giant eagle approached from behind.

Unaware of the danger lurking behind him, he continued on, having fun. Soon his senses echoed in his head, pulling him out of his state of ecstasy.

Looking around, he couldn't see anything, then he looked down and still couldn't see anything. But soon, he noticed it;

A giant shadow was approaching from behind at an incredible speed.

*Smile* "Let's see how fast these wings can go," he flapped as hard as he could, and felt a pull as his body began to move at an incredible speed.

If you consider the difference, he was flying at a speed of 80 K/M before, and now he has increased to 150 K/M.

Being in the air made it easier for him to control this speed as he didn't have to dodge obstacles or worry about maintaining a flow of energy in his eyes.

Although his speed increased, the beast was still hot on his heels, getting closer and closer. "I'm flying at top speed with high-level bee wings, and yet it's still getting closer. It can only be another high-level beast."

'How fast will I move if I inject electrical energy to make the wings move faster?' His excitement increased as he began to activate his power.

[Alert! Alert! Alert!]

[The energy is too pure for the rune. It could be destroyed by receiving such power.]

When he heard this, he stopped concentrating his energy and made a sad face. It was like driving at high speed in your vehicle, but when you want to activate the NOS, the police stop you; they take away all the excitement at the best moment.

'I don't have time to fight this eagle.' Reducing his speed a bit, he leaned and descended into the forest. He didn't have enough maneuverability to fly into the forest using his wings, so he had to reduce his speed.

Only at a critical moment would he go at full speed and activate his power.

As if the heavens heard his prayers, the eagle also descended into the forest while chasing him and approaching faster due to Brandon's reduced speed.

'Hm, try to follow me, stinky eagle.' Moving his power, his eyes turned blue and fluttered again, he began to move at full speed.

But to his eyes, this speed was almost in slow motion; moreover, unlike before, he could keep this power more active after increasing his control and reducing the amount of energy he spent.

The eagle also maneuvered skillfully, but its large wings often collided with trees because of how big they were, which greatly slowed down the eagle.

Soon Brandon was out of sight of the eagle. He, on the other hand, had a big smile on his face.

"I've arrived at the wasteland," he said when he saw a giant camp.

"Dragna." He could see this giant name in the camp from afar. The city is controlled by the dragon race.

From its size, one could say that it was a city within dimensions.

'You made it, Brandon,' he thought.
