You're tired of me, and I'm tired of you

Gossip about Selah's closeness to Aeneas is getting hotter and starting to be colored by stories that are not true. It's a bit worrying, but Selah tries to hold on to the growing gossip. Although well, it must be admitted that sometimes she wants to strangle someone because of their annoyance.

Especially the times when Selah attended tea parties. The mouths of the women are really terrible. Luckily Selah managed to answer all the questions she got.

But strangely, Evanthe remained silent. She seemed to be waiting for something. The look in her eyes looked so sure. No matter how suspicious, soon something will definitely happen.

And sure enough, just as the rumors were running hot until Duke Dulcia left their residence, Selah received an invitation from Blair.

"Stay here, Janette," Selah said as Janette was about to accompany her to the Palace.

"B-but, what if something happened to you, My Lady?" asked Janette worriedly.

"That's precisely why you should be here. If I haven't come back by tomorrow morning, you have to look for me. Tell Prince Aeneas I went to see Blair."

"My Lady… Alright. May your matter go smoothly."

Like I'd go anywhere, Selah thought.

The atmosphere of the Palace was pretty lively at that time. Selah has repeatedly crossed paths with Palace officials who eyed her cynically. Even more surprising, Selah ran into Duke Dulcia there. His eyes looked cynical and angry at Selah, indicating he wanted to kill her right now if he could.

It couldn't be that Father had initiated this meeting, thought Selah as she reached Blair's room.

The door opened, and Blair opened it himself. He immediately instructed the maids and guards to leave his room.

It was a sign that Selah and Blair were going to have a big fight.

"Even though I told everyone to leave, it doesn't mean I want us to fight," Blair said, opening the conversation.

"Me too," Selah replied sarcastically. "If we fight, you will tell Father, and he will beat me up."

"Therefore, just obey Duke Dulcia," Blair said tiredly. "Do you think you're the only one who doesn't want this relationship?"

"Now then, that further strengthens the reason for us breaking up, right? You're tired of me, and I'm tired of you–"

"But does your tiredness have to be Aeneas?!"

Finally, he mentioned his name, thought Selah.

"You're just trying to test my patience, right?" continued Blair. "Stop it, Selah. Really. People out there are starting to pressure me to break up with you."

"Oh, that's why I saw the ministers just now," Selah said lightly. "As the crown prince of this kingdom, it's best if you listen to their opinion."

"This conversation isn't progressing at all," Blair sneered. "Selah, remember again the reason why you got engaged to me. You want the highest position in this kingdom and beat your father, right? Aeneas cannot give you the queen's position."

"But Prince Aeneas promised to protect me."

Blair looked surprised to hear that.

"Prince Aeneas didn't get me beaten by my father. Prince Aeneas held my hand as we walked together. " Prince Aeneas knows my preferences without me telling him," Selah continued. "Prince Aeneas treated me better than you. I'm sure other women out there can treat you better than me."

"You…" Blair hissed in disbelief. "You're talking about how you feel right now?"

"You chose me as your partner because I'm strong and everything, right? I may be strong, but that doesn't mean I don't have a heart." Unknowingly Selah's tone became shaky. "When my father beat me, I felt no pain. I just felt sick after realizing that you were the cause. And already knowing that, you never looked regretful after seeing my wounds!"

"That's because you kept quiet. You can't do this, Selah; suddenly say you're sick of me even though you never said anything to me."

"But you can ask how I'm doing. It's that simple. You never do it!" shouted Selah. "Is two years not enough for you to understand me?"

"Have you ever tried to understand me yourself!?"

The question sounded like a trigger inside Selah.

Blair asked if Selah ever tried to understand Blair?

This man, Selah thought, annoyed. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms.

Who has Selah fulfilled all the party invitations amid her busy schedule? Tired of dressing up for whom? After wearing painful high heels, for whose sake? Having swallowed all the bad words of Duke Dulcia and the other ladies because of who?

Selah has never questioned their marriage even though they have been engaged for 2 years because of whom?

Selah didn't expose Blair's affair because of whom?

Selah's hand quickly and firmly grabbed Blair's collar. "Tell me again, what nonsense did you just ask," she hissed.

"I don't like it when my efforts are called into question," Blair retorted. "You sound like you're underestimating me, Selah." He roughly removed Selah's hand from his collar.

"I was indeed questioning your efforts," said Selah. "You think I will only be satisfied with the small gifts you often give as a token of your apology? I can buy all of that with my own money."

"Hah! So you're gonna play like? Feel bigger and taller than me?" said Blair in disgust. He opened his mouth to Selah's ear and whispered, "Just watch what happens when you break up with me. You think you can survive the death threats I've been refusing?"

"You threaten me?"

"I'm not threatening. I'm just reminding you, Selah. Remember what happened to your late mother. Because of her stupidity, now he is buried in the ground," said Blair. "Poor woman looks like her daughter will soon catch up with her."

For Selah, all of Blair's words were more than enough to break through the limits of her patience.

Selah's hand subconsciously took the nearest vase. She had already raised the vase high and was ready to smash it on the back of Blair's head. But the door to Blair's room suddenly opened, and someone immediately pulled Selah away. The flower vase in her hand fell to the floor.

"Lady Selah, wake up. You can get into bigger trouble," Azel whispered soothingly.

Blair looked shocked when he realized that Selah had almost attacked him. He looked between the flower vase on the floor and Selah alternately.

"You…" Blair whispered.

"Sorry for my impoliteness, Your Highness. His Majesty King Tristan is now waiting for you with Prince Aeneas. Right now," said Azel emphatically. "I think His Majesty is more important than your bussiness with Lady Selah."

Blair looked at Azel coldly. "You are safe because Aeneas trusts you, Sir Azel," he hissed sharply at Azel. "And Selah. Go. I don't want to see you for a while."

So Blair came out of his own room.
