Accorsa carried me for quite a while, we reached an unfamiliar place then she let me down.
"Where are we headed?" I asked after a while.
"You'll know once we get there." Accorsa replied.
Accorsa held my hand and we walked for a few minutes before arriving at our destination.
My eyes widened at the sight in front of me. It was like a maze, no it was a garden but it was filled with roses, red and white roses.
This place was the female lead late mother's rose garden.
And a table filled with desserts was set at the centre of the rose garden.
Throughout the original novel, Accorsa did not let anyone go near the garden, she herself did not go there, so the garden became somewhat of a bush rather than a garden.
But why would she let me in like it was natural, she helped me sit on the chair then she sat opposite me.
The tantalising scent that wafted from the table made me shudder in excitement.
"Don't you like it?"
"What? Of course Tatiana likes it."
There were a lot of muffins, mostly chocolate and strawberry muffins.
Accorsa gently poured tea for herself...
"..."
"What? You want some?"
"What that?"
"Black tea."
"Huh? No. Tatiana is just looking at pretty sister's face."
"Ha." Accorsa chuckled.
"My lady! You suddenly left without me." A voice shouted from behind us.
"Oh, the little princess is here too." Caleb said inbetween pants.
"Stop breathing so loudly." Accorsa glared at Caleb.
"Apologies, My lady." Caleb bowed.
"What is it you want?" Accorsa asked and took a sip of tea.
"What? It's nothing, its just that the lady left without her escort knight."
"If there's nothing. Leave now."
"Yes? But I came all the way." Caleb whined in a not-so-knightly way.
Accorsa sent a hard glare at him that made him shudder.
"Pretty sister, please can brother Caleb join us?"
"When did he become your brother?"
"...I mean Knight Caleb." I quickly corrected myself.
So far, the female lead had treated me differently from the original plot, and I do not want that treatment to end.
"Fine." Accorsa waved her hand.
"Yes, yes. Please join us Knight Caleb."
Thankfully, two more chairs were left at the side. So Caleb sat on one.
"Pretty Sister, here, have some macaroons."
"And have this too."
"And this muffin."
"Ah, strawberry cake! Have some of this too."
Too lost in the moment, I unconsciously filled Accorsa's plate with desserts.
"I don't eat sweets." Accorsa finally voiced out, she stared at the plate filled with various sweets.
"Yes?"
"The lady don't eat sweets, Princess."
"Oh." My head dropped. I stuffed the desserts into my mouth to conceal my sadness.
For a moment, I forgot who the real Accorsa was and I forgot that she never ate sweet, since it reminded her of her mother.
But my mood quickly improved when I remembered that Caleb was here and his plate was still empty.
I turned to him with a smile.
"Knight Caleb, you haven't eaten anything yet? Or you don't eat sweets?"
"Of course, I do."
"Great." I smiled widely and picked some desserts with my spoon.
I quickly dropped everything on his plate.
"Here, eat this."
"This too."
"My-my lady, I don't think I'll be able to eat this all of this."
"Huh? Why?"
***
Caleb smiled as the little princess filled his plates with desert, he looked up at his lady but immediately regretted it.
She starred daggers at him with cold eyes that promised to end his life after this.
"My-my lady, I don't think I'll be able to eat all of this."
"Huh? Why?"
"I have to return to the knight's training ground, I only came to check up on the lady. So, I'll be leaving now." Caleb grab his coat and quickly left.
When he left, Accorsa raised the tea cup to her lips to hide her smile.
"Huh?" Tatiana looked around, enable to understand why the knight suddenly left.
Accorsa kept the tea cup, she picked up her cutlery and started eating the desserts that Tatiana picked for her.
Tatiana's eyes widened in shock, it was just all too unbelievable. The female was actually eating sweets... with a straight face at that, no sign of disgust or dislike.
Accorsa ate the muffins first and then the cake, she drank her black tea at regular intervals.
Tatiana was lost watching her sister eat sweets.
"Ca-can you eat that?"
"Hmm? Can I not?"
"No, no. Of course, you can."
Tatiana lowered her head and ate her desserts while hiding the smile on her face.
The female lead finally ate something sweet, that meant that she has let some part of her past go.
***
I laid on my bed with a smile on my face, the earlier events of today made me happy.
I kicked away my duvet and then I wrapped it around me again.
After the attack that day, I was moved to the a room near Accorsa for safety.
I closed my eyes and slowly fell into the embrace of sleep.
...
I opened my eyes again and what this time I was somewhere else, it was what looked like a graveyard, no it was a cemetery.
But I was the only one there, I was standing in front of a tombstone.
"Where I'm I." My heart pounded loudly, I could feel the chilling cold breeze that accompanied the continuous drops of rain.
I turned around and I saw a boy who had his head hung low.
He was clad in a black suit but his shoulders trembled from time to time and he had his hands covering his face.
The young boy was crying...
I walked closer to him but then he raised his head to look at me.
My eyes widened.
That face was a face I've been seeing everyday, throughout my whole life in the real world.
"Brother?"
I ran towards him but but no matter how fast I ran I was never able to teach him, it was as if the distance was widening with every step I take.
"Brother!!" I screamed and opened my eyes.
It was all a dream but I didn't know if I should be relieved or worried.
The door to my room opened and Accorsa walked in.
"Are you alright?"
"Pretty Sister?" My eyes were still clouded with tears, so I could not see her properly.
Accorsa sat on the bed and hugged me in her arms.
"Hmn, it's me. I'm here."
"Hic."
"Shh, it's alright."
***
Accorsa stared at the crying girl in her arms, it felt nice to be able to console somebody.
Accorsa stroked the little girl's hair, she contemplated on what she was about to do. But then she decided, Accorsa cleared her throat.
"Ahem... Moon so high in the sky, bring my baby to me."
"Let her be happy all her life."
"And let her eyes, I see shine bright like the stars in the night, please moon bring her back to me."
Accorsa sang her most painful memory out, it was the song her mother sang to her every night, it was a memory that had been locked up deep in jer heart and somehow this little girl made her sing it again.
But Accorsa has no regrets...
***
"...please moon bring her back to me."
Tatiana stopped sniffling but the tears did not stop pouring out.
The song was familiar, it was a song she had heard a few times in her real life.
How did the female lead know a song my real mother sang to me.
Tatiana could not ask Accorsa how she knew that song but right now she did not want to know. She just wanted to relish in the lullaby.
"Bring her back to me."
