Scott had no idea Angela was the daughter of his CEO, he was certain none of his staff knew either or they would not have been teasing him all this time. Angela was the owner of a school which the company serviced and his team was assigned to manage and support her account. Never in the last two years of working with her did she ever mention her relationship to the company’s CEO. There really was no need to because her school was a separate entity to be treated like all other clients of theirs. Having the same last name should prompt one to think of their relationship, but in this day and age, surnames really do not say much about a person’s background.
“Angela mentioned you and your fiancée make quite a bowling team!” The CEO continued.
The word fiancée hit him like a ton of weight on his chest. What was he going to say now? Deny his engagement and run the risk of Angela drooling over him with gifts or be a moron and let this lie stay as the truth.
