CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE (A WAR WITH SOMEONE YOU KNOW)

"Welcome home." The elegant woman said and got up from her chair, she walked towards him in her sequin flowing black gown and placed her hand on his back. She then asked.

"Speak, what news have you brought for your people?"

"Kugama has lost its balance, its Queen is weak and vulnerable." The young man replied.

"Is it?" The woman asked with a smile. "Kugama will fall and Vang will rise." The young man said with every ounce of confidence and looked up at the woman with a smile.

"Tell me more." The woman said placing her hands on his slender face.

"My Queen, there is chaos in the kingdom." One of Queen Memma's guards came running to inform her one evening after she came back from seeing her daughter.

"What's happening." The Queen asked raising her head sharply, Then she heard a loud noise suddenly even before she could reply.

"What's that noise." She asked in fright.

"Chaos my Queen." The guard replied.

Queen Memma got up hurriedly and together with the guard they went up to the large balcony of the palace and from there with the aid of Faywi (the magical binoculars) she saw the massive destruction that had taken place in Kugama and was still taking place.

"Who is behind this?" The Queen asked almost to herself.

"A woman in black who is riding a strange object more like a golden banana leaf." The guard replied.

"We are being invaded. Gather the entire guards in Kugama and bring them to the palace, immediately." Queen Memma ordered.

"Yes, Your Highness." He said and walked away quickly.

"After I am done with these little creatures, I will be coming for you, my dear. It will be a reunion." The woman in black war clothes said to herself with a smile.

"Commander, gather your men and make them surround Kugama. I want no one to escape." She said to a strong-built man by her side.

"Yes, General." He said and went away calling out to his men as he walked away.

The Kugama soldiers assembled in the palace leaving only a few soldiers to safeguard the gates and some others to lead the people in defending themselves in case the enemies make their way inside.

"We are at war and we must do everything possible to protect ourselves and protect our people. No one must die today, Kugama is strong." The Queen addressed them with sad but confident emotions showing in her eyes and then she asked them to recite the Kugama defence pledge;
