CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO (A SPY)

"My Hanra grew faster than children her age, she is very smart and beautiful. She always topped her class and it made me happy, always."

"The princess is very special," Sangth said with a smile.

"I am not able to believe that anymore. When Hanra was born and her lamp was also in the Tangale shrine, I thought my daughter would be able to protect me and that she was really special but the gods played a cruel joke on me. Her lamp is just there glowing, she does have any powers. If the people should find out, she might be banished and lose the throne forever." Queen Memma said and looked away.

A young man covering his head with the hood of his cloth stood by palace walls eavesdropping on the palace guards who were busy discussing the princess's condition.

"The princess was badly hurt when she was brought back." Said the older guard.

"Yes, and this is causing the Queen a lot of trouble." Said the younger guard in agreement with what the older guard said.

"Poor Queen Memma, her daughter's condition has made her weak." Said the older guard with a sad expression.

"She doesn't even stay in the palace anymore." The younger one said and the older one asked.

"Really?" They continued talking in the distance while the eavesdropper smiled and went away.

Behind an abandoned building, he moved the grasses that surrounded a tunnel and crept into it. He kept crawling in the dark tunnel for a while until he finally saw a tiny light, he went towards it and came outside.

It was the outside of the kugama kingdom but there were people, men, women, and children dressed beautifully. It was a marketplace where they were all busy buying and selling their wares while children ran about playing. The young man took off his hood.

They bowed down to him and he walked passed them. He went straight to a huge palace bigger than that of Kugama, and the guards greeted him in the same manner.

"Welcome Your Highness."

Your highness!!! The young man called to a woman seated on a huge chair and knelt on one leg with his head bowed and his left hand on his bent leg.
