Chapter 9

Tears were flowing down from her glistening eyes sparkling in the night. Startled by the sad or so moment, Rin hesitated before asking.

Rintarõ.... _W-wha... What's wrong Ai?_

Her voice sounded a bit pale and shaky, scared for some reason.

Merumi.... _Oh sorry if i startled you, it's nothing. I was just expressing how happy i am for being your friend. Thanks for the wonderful day and for reuniting me with Kiyo._

Rintaro felt a downpour of relief as she calmed her pounding heart. Having thought of something bad happening reminded her of how little joy knocked on her life's door. Often more she would think her life was cursed.

Rintarõ.... _Don't mention it, you're my best friend after all._

Merumi.... _Thank you so much_

Blinking with tearful eyes, Ai tugged her friend in an embrace. Later Rin was busy cracking up on Merumi's jokes. Not to mention the funny faces she was imitating as a time passer. Both still waited for the princess who had said she was going to bring in a surprise. Patience failed as a tendency towards Haruno's quick-to-lose hope mind. Boredom, eerie persistent mosquitoes plus the noisy groups of people entering the park for the festival. She surrendered to the inside voice telling her to give up and go home. But amidst such turmoil, blinding lights flashed before her wide open eyes. "At last!," she exclaimed releasing a deep sigh under a weary voice. In front pulled over the black limo and first to come out was Kiyohime beside Takami. Rintaro remained a bit still but she became even more surprised when her eyes met the gaze of Keisuke and Takahiro. She was shocked to find her smooth lips stretching out to release a scream. And more so when her body moved on it's own jumping into Kei's hands. The amazing cologne, warmth and tender touch of his hands wrapped around her back, all flowed in from forgotten plains. His blood moon red eyes gazed directly into hers as she found herself being poked by the youngest prince.

Takami.... _Ahem hello?_

Rintarõ.... _Oh uhm sorry about that, how are you doing pri..._ *cut off*

Takami.... _Don't say it, you can't call us with any honorifics or respect for that matter. Takami or Kami is ok for the time being._

The young prince acted a bit shy. His voice lessened after mentioning his nickname from Kiyo. But like always, he quickly got back to his normal self, and no doubt Rin was a bit amazed by his sudden smile.

Rintarõ.... _Ok then Kami it is._

Takami.... _Well now that wasn't so hard. See you around_

Done talking, the young boy ran inside the crowded park. Kiyohime followed him accompanied by Merumi while shouting something at _little miss genius_.

Kiyohime.... _Sorry i couldn't say it properly but surprise!. Unfortunately they were the only ones i managed to snatch from their packed schedules! See ya later!..._

Rintarõ.... _You too! (So she practically forced them into coming here?, that's just scary)_

Left together with hardly ever spoken in a week or more Hiro and silently waiting to be answered Kei, Haruno felt a chilly chuckle not just from the cold weather. The air was stiff, quiet and none of her friends were there to save her. With trivial moments trickling down, Akamaru decided to break the ice.

Takahiro.... _Er...umm....., i'm just gonna go join the others. It was nice meeting you Rin_

Rintarõ.... _Uhh you too. See you later._

It nullified as much of a conversation while both exchanged very few words. After his supposedly greeting, Hiro went inside lip-glued looking a bit depressed. Guilt trapped Rin into blaming herself for causing the new and downright boring Takahiro.

Soon all that remained was nothing but a quiet figure standing face front. The two didn't know what to say, where to start, and she could barely keep hold of the rising emotions within. They would look at each other and turn away, or ready themselves to say something. And yet all heard were cricket sounds plus plenty of chatter from festival-thriving people. Finally one decided to take the stand, of course chained to a quiet voice.

To be continued......
