POV Jade/Hermione
After the expected announcements and predictable conversations, we set off for Gryffindor Tower when I decided to step aside, it was when Peeves' expected attack on Percy began, I now pitied Filch a little, having to clean up Peeves shameless messes was tedious when you didn't know when it was going to happen. When I got to Gryffindor Tower I went up behind the girls to rest, it had been a long day.
It was time to go to classes, setting the alarm on my mobile phone I got up early, and after finishing my preparations I went out in search of my breakfast, soon more students were arriving, and Harry was the talk of the school.
I was looking for my first class, and unfortunately for me, I was suffering from all of Peeves' attempts to make me late, the blocked doors opened easily, so he decided to throw papers at me, which I dodged by changing the rhythm of my walk to the transformations class, when he saw that nothing worked he left me alone for a while to go and bother other students.
Transformations class passed without much difficulty, although many complained about the amount of homework that Professor McGonagall set, it was also clear that it would take time to master the class, as we made many notes before we started practicing with the wands, all the efforts of the boys to transform a match into a needle.
I sighed and did it, I received a smile from the teacher and she showed the result to the others, she seemed satisfied with the fact that at least one person succeeded.
Quirrell's Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons was as disappointing as I expected, although I didn't bother to pay much attention to him, I just read the book, which was a thousand times more interesting, even if I had learned it completely, it didn't hurt to reread it. My moments of inspiration came when I went to visit the library, I did my homework and I could freely read everything there, Harry's fame was starting to go to his head a bit, but I knew it wasn't so bad, at the end he was just a kid who discovered he was famous.
Soon Friday came and it was time for potions class with Snape, he did the roll call and stopped at Harry's name, it was then that he started to bully him, I was just writing the answers to his questions on my parchment, but with everything that happened I sighed, the noise of my quill annoyed him, but my sigh made him angrier.
- "Apparently, someone thinks my subject is too easy for her to deliberately ignore me" - The Slytherin laughed under their breath - "Can he answer the questions I asked Potter?"
- 'That's a wrong decision on your part,' - I thought more to myself.
- "The Asphodel root powder, in the Wormwood infusion, are for the filtering of the living dead, a sleeping potion, the Bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and serves to counteract many of the poisons, and as for Aconite and Luparia, they are the same plant." - As she answered, the Slytherin's laughter faded. - "Just because I don't look at you doesn't mean I don't pay attention to you, Professor," - I replied cheekily and the whole room succumbed to silence.
- "Minus ten points Gryffindor" - At that, I just kept silent, I would have my revenge in the next Quidditch match - "It doesn't do you any good to memorize the book, the real test is in the performance of the potions."
After that, things didn't get any better, at least for the others, we started to make a potion to cure boils, but he kept going around the tables bothering and scolding the others, I just put on a headphone and covered it with my hair, When he started insulting me and calling me useless, I just concentrated on the music, before Neville could mess up I stopped him, to which Snape said to let my classmates fail, earning back the nickname of insufferable know-it-all. Since the potion had turned out perfectly and he could see that his insults did not affect me as they did with my other classmates.
He only praised Draco, but I didn't care and that also made Malfoy angry, so the class ended, with me avoiding disasters and putting up with Snape scolding me for sticking my nose where I shouldn't.
.
The news of the flying class arrived, most of them seemed nervous, many muggle children didn't know how they were going to do, just like me, because although I had learned how to transport myself from one place to another, I hadn't learned how to fly, at dinner time I lent the book of Quidditch through the ages to Neville, since he was the most nervous of all, I pointed out some important parts that he had to read to calm down.
It was then that the mail arrived, Neville got the reminder, then Malfoy who was passing by took it from him and Harry with Ron got up, I could have jumped in, but I knew there was no problem here, as Professor McGonagall arrived.
It was time to go to class, I knew it would happen, the brooms were lined up in front of us, and soon the teacher arrived and made us stand next to a broom, they seemed to be in bad shape some of them, although they were functional.
- "Extend your right hand on the broom and say 'up'." - Said the teacher decisively.
- "Up!" - I said like everyone else, different from what I thought, the broom went into my hand at once, and the same thing happened to several of my classmates.
My eyes went to Neville, who seemed very nervous and his broom didn't move; at the end, the accident in which he broke his wrist, being carried by Hooch, Malfoy's conflict with Harry, when McGonagall arrived and seemed furious, everyone in Gryffindor was worried about Harry, but I already knew what the result would be, so I didn't worry, making Ron annoyed with me.
- "Don't worry Ronald, he's not going to be expelled I think his punishment will be more like a prize." - He looked at me like I was crazy. - "You'll find out later..."
- "If I were you I'd think about it, to hope that Potter will get out of this after breaking the rules is impossible," - He said with superiority.
- "Well, that's your problem, I'll see you later throwing a tantrum, Malfoy."
Before he could answer me, Hooch returned and the class continued. I received praise from Hooch, she also said it was unfortunate that I couldn't make the Quidditch team because I was a first year, Ron was still somewhat resentful of my indifference to Harry's situation.
Eventually, we got back and Harry broke the news that he would be the Gryffindor Seeker, which made Ron apologize to me.
- "But Hermione, how did you know this was going to happen?" - He said intrigued.
- "Gryffindor needed a Seeker, last year they lost the match against Slytherin, and because Harry showed a natural talent it was impossible to expel him, so the 'punishment' I would decide for Harry would be to be their new Seeker, even if he is a minor, that can be solved just by talking it over with Dumbledore." - I said simply.
- "You're scary sometimes..." - Ron said in a voice that showed some panic.
I just rolled my eyes and went up to my room, I had to write and do my homework, starting the second book. It was going to be a long year.
.
Dinner came and the news had arrived, you could tell everyone was already aware of the news, Draco approached the boys to tease them, and that's when he challenged Harry, it was time for me to tell them not to go, we still weren't friends per se, but I wouldn't be quiet. In this situation I agreed with the original Hermione in the book, they were being selfish and not thinking of others and how it would affect them if they were discovered.
They got mad at me, and like immature children, they decided to ignore me, ungrateful brats; soon the night came and I confronted them, saying the same thing as Hermione and that it was probably a trap. They ignored me and left, so I went in search of Neville, who was outside as he couldn't remember the password to get in, leaving Neville inside I turned to face the pair of idiots I would have as friends.
- "I'm going to tell you one last time, go back inside, I don't think it would be convenient for anyone..." - They looked at me and Harry sighed.
- "If he's not in there, we'll be back before Filch finds us." - He said trying to reason with me.
- "You know it's not just Filch, that nagging Peeves can also be a problem, only the bloodthirsty male can control him, and there are few teachers he respects, in any case, you'll get into trouble." - I said trying to convince them to come back.
When I turned to point to the entrance the fat lady wasn't there, I sighed and in the end, I ended up accompanying them, when we arrived at the place Draco wasn't there, just as I had told them, I scolded them with my eyes and they gave me a bad look, then we heard Filch and we ran out of there, hiding in the charms room, finding Peeves.
- "Lingering in the middle of the night, newbies?" - He said mockingly. - "I must tell Filch," - He continued.
Before Ron could screw up, I pushed him back and spoke.
- "If you help us I can give you something you'll have more fun with than this." - At my words, he turned to us with interest.
- "And what would that be?" - He asked, to which Ron and Harry looked at me nervously. Thinking I was just pulling his leg.
- "These," - I said, pulling out three balls and showing them to him.
- "What good would that do me?" - He replied suspiciously.
- "What good would they do you? They may look like normal balls, but they're stink bombs," - He turned his gaze to the balls with more interest, - "I'll give you five, one for you to test on Filch and one on Draco Malfoy of Slytherin," - The last I whispered so the boys wouldn't hear, - "the only condition of use is that you don't use them against Gryffindor, don't you think that's convenient?"
- "Done, I'll take him away so you can go to your tower" - He said excitedly and I gave them to him.
The explosion was heard and that was the signal, we ran out of there straight to the tower, Peeves' laughs sounded far away, some other time they would find out about Fluffy's existence, but this was not the moment. As we ran up we said the password and went inside exhausted.
- "A little toy I made," - I said seriously, but they didn't pay attention to my tone, my condition was much better than theirs, it was at this moment that the training I had was serving me better than I expected.
- "That was surprising, I didn't think you could handle Peeves." - Said a happy Ron, happy to get out alive and with help from the ghost that was constantly bothering them.
- "I hope this is a lesson to you, now I'm off before you think of something else to get us in trouble," - I said angrily and went up to my room.
The next day I ignored the boys, they seemed to be fine with it, so I spent more time with Neville, big surprise when Malfoy came in along with Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle emanating a foul smell, they all laughed while the Slytherin boys just walked away from them because of the strong stench.
I smiled as the Gryffindors commented on the possibilities of what had happened to them, the most excited were Fred and George, it was then that big mouth Ron decided to speak out of turn, as usual. - "That must have been Peeves," - He said, laughing out loud.
- "Peeves?" - Commented his brothers with interest.
- "Yes, yesterday Hermione gave him the strange bombs in exchange for a favor, and also on the condition that he didn't use them on Gryffindor," - He told his brothers confidently, but then Harry kicked him.
- "Who knew that the proper Hermione Granger would turn out to be a prankster with potential," - Said Fred in astonishment.
- "That's an invention with my patent young Weasley, but it would be a pleasure to share and work on a future project with you," - I said confidently making them smile.
- "Is that a promise?" - Asked both twins at the same time.
- "It is a promise" - I said shaking their hands.
