Chapter 110 – Exploring Around Zanid

Jeremiah's POV

Later after breakfast, me, Robert, Blaise, and their friends, including Sol, went out to show them around Zanid, including some of its historical landmarks. Ever since I was born, I know almost every place in this huge city, from the marketplaces to the oldest of all buildings. In fact, I had a habit of conducting tours to newcomers and tourists in my free time. And this time, I'm ready to do this for Robert, Blaise, and their friends. Tanaka and Tadashi, on the other hand, decided to go around the capital themselves.

And as we walk down the cobblestone street, I explained to them about the buildings we passed by. Robert and his group are very interested by my explanations, with Robert and Harold jotting some notes in their notepads. I had seen it, of course.

Along the way, we stopped at one of Zanid's most iconic landmarks, the Old Palace. It was the original palace for the royal family that rules Saheda for generations, but the previous king and his family decided to move to another place, which was the current palace complex, leaving the old palace to be a tourist attraction. Although it's now partially in ruins due to occasional neglect, it's still a great place to explore.

I then explained all that basic information to Robert and his group.

"Wow, I didn't know they used to live in that place," Robert commented while looking at the exterior of the Old Palace. "I kinda learned a bit of this place in my geography class."

"Yeah, at least they had a better place to live," Blaise added.

"That place was smaller than the current one," Emma commented.

"Yes, and that would be one of the reasons why they decided to move out," I responded to the last comment.

They then get what I had said.

Not long after, we arrived at our next stop, the Zanid Market Bazaars, and we went around as a group while looking at some of the kingdom's most popular products. I long knew that the majority of these products are manufactured by the people of Saheda, making them more high-quality than imported ones.

Along the way, William found a pair of daggers, with an interesting pattern on the blades, for 35 gold coins at a weapons stand, and decided to buy it.

Upon seeing that, I asked, "Do you want that, William-kun?"

William then looked at me and answered, "Yes, I am more of a dagger collector."

"Oh, okay, that's why," I responded, before gesturing to grant his desire.

And so, William bought the said pair of daggers for 35 gold coins.

To that I thought, "I think he is rich. After all, he's the prince of Saverfort."

In the meantime, across the corridor, I then looked at Robert, who was looking at some cloth made of silk.

He then asked the seller for its price.

The seller then answered, "That'll be 70 gold coins per yard."

But then, Robert was a bit dumbfounded by its high price tag, and he decided to skip it out.

"I think Robert-kun doesn't like expensive stuff, "I said to Blaise.

"Well, remember what Robert said that he slew a giant cobra with a katana?" Blaise responded back. "That katana's price tag is 75 gold coins."

This surprises me a lot. "Wow, it's a bit more expensive than a yard of silk cloth."

"Yeah, and it was imported from Kita, too."

"Wow, he must've been so lucky."

"He was."

After that, me and Blaise looked at our right, and we saw Emma and Harold eating some buttered corn with cheese sauce on it.

"Wait, you guys are eating already?" I asked. "We just had breakfast."

Emma then stopped eating, looked at me, and muffled while food was in her mouth, "What? It's so good."

"It's one of our favorite foods," Harold added. "We eat this in Saverfort, too."

"Oh, okay then."

I can't object so they would not be upset, and I don't like that at all.

Shortly thereafter, Peter ran towards us while holding a book saying, "Hey guys, this book is so awesome!"

Upon looking at him, Emma asked, "Really, big brother? Another book? Have you even finished the other ones?"

"Yes, 3 of them before we left," Peter readily answered back.

"Woah, are you an avid reader or something?" I asked.

Peter then nodded. "Yes, I had a vast collection at home in Peacewood."

"Oh, that's why."

Blaise then smiled at them.

After that, I looked at Sol, who was not buying anything and just looked at the merchandise and products the sellers are offering to him.

I then walked up to him and asked, "Hey, uh, you're not buying anything?"

"Nah, I don't need anything here at all," answered Sol back.

"I see."
