Chapter 124 – Emi’s pov

Emi's POV

After I said goodbye to Robert and my other allies, I went back to the Old Faction's hideout on foot.

Later, at 5 o'clock, I arrived at that hideout, the Old Palace, and went in via the underground door. Not long after, after passing through the gate and another door, I meet up with the Grand Founder, who was actually the uncle of the current king, and greeted, "I'm back, Grand Founder."

I then kneeled before him for a few seconds.

"You're pretty fast, Emi," the Grand Founder spoke while looking at the mural of the emblem of the Old Faction, "Why is that?"

"I'm having a meeting with a new recruit at a tavern," I lied in response before biting my lip in hopes that the lie would work.

"New recruit? Who's that?"

"I-It's someone from the kingdom of Vanworth," I lied again.

"I see, when we will see him in person?"

"About 3 days more," I lied once more, "and he's from the Earthheart and Lightheart clans."

Then, the Grand Founder turned around, and replied back, "I see. I think he is strong."

"Yes, he is," I responded while smiling slightly at him.

"Okay, you may rest for now," the Grand Founder replied back.

"Thank you," I replied, before turning around and went to my sleeping quarters.

There I put my leather utility belt, bow, and quiver of arrows on my desk and lay on the straw bed to rest up. Then, I began to think about that boy, the one who spared me this morning, thinking about his possible identity.

I am particularly smart on the knowledge of the elemental and spiritual clans, including those of the Lighthearts and its enemy, the Necrohearts. But I'm yet to learn about the rest of the elemental clans.

"I think I love him," I thought to myself while staring at the ceiling.

My room was only lightened by an oil lamp, making it a bit dark.

"I hoped he would be alright on the day of the coup," I continued on thinking. "Don't worry, whoever you are, I'll be there for you."
