Spiritual and Elemental Hearts

The day after that second meeting, this morning, me and my cousin and friends are at the Windheart estate's training ground doing our daily morning training in preparation for the upcoming coup tomorrow. I focused more in my katana training more than my lightning or wind magic so I could gain an upper hand. I even wondered how to do Lightning Rod, an ability that requires a metal weapon to do so. Since I have a metal weapon, which is my katana, I need to learn how to do it.

As we kept on training, Emma and Zarah came to us and Zarah greeted, "Good morning, Robert-kun."

Upon hearing that, I interrupted my training, held my katana in my right hand, and responded with, "Oh, good morning, Zarah-chan. What's up?"

Before Emma would say something, Zarah goes first and asked me, "So, after breakfast, do you want to go out with me?"

That question really shocked me severely, and my cousin and friends heard this, too, causing me to drop my katana to the ground.

Emma seems to be upset and irritated by it then.

"WHAT?" I responded back with shock.

"Woah, dude, a date?" William said to me. "With a princess?"

In my previous life, although I watched a lot of manga videos of high school romance on the internet, I never went on a date with a girl, so I have barely any experience.

"Yes, just you and me," Zarah replied happily.

But then, Emma said to Zarah, "I supposed to ask him out first!"

In response to that, Zarah turned towards her and retorted with power and pride, "Hmph! I'm the princess of this kingdom. You can't do anything about it."

Emma was more irritated by it, and she made up her mind and said to her, "Fine! I'll come then!"

This shock me and Zarah a lot more, including Peter, who was training with us, too.

"You can't do that!" Zarah responded to this. "You'll be the third wheel!"

"Seriously, cous?" William commented.

"Because I love him, too!" Emma replied back.

"How he will love you when you have such an arrogant attitude?" Zarah asked.

"Look who's talking here!" Emma retorted.

Then, I stammered in response, "A-Are you sure about that? Does the king mind it?"

Zarah then looked at me, and replied, "Don't worry, he won't. He said that I can go out with any boy I like."

To that I thought, "What does a father would allow that for their daughter?"

After that, Emma looked at me, and she and Zarah asked simultaneously, "Choose one of us, Robert-kun."

Eventually, I sighed in giving up, made up my mind, and said to Zarah and Emma, "Fine, let's make it fair. I'll come with both of you."

I then picked up my katana from the ground.

My decision really shocked Jeremiah and my friends, a lot.

Then, Jeremiah come closer to me. "Dude, how about your dignity? This might ruin your public image and pride of our clan."

I then responded to him in a low voice, "I have to do this so this situation will not escalate more, you know."

After that, I looked at the two girls, and said to them boldly, "Alright then, a double date, at 9 in the morning. Let's go around the city, shop for some stuff, and watch plays at theaters. But no fighting, okay?"

Seeing that I am the grandson of the current head of the Windheart clan, Emma and Zarah had no choice but to accept it without objecting.

Seeing their calm attitude to each other, I thought, "This gonna be hard."
