Getting to know the place

Heading back the same way she came Shiy decided to stop by a bookstore to pick up anything she might need to smoothly adapt to her unfamiliar environment. She doesn't plan to stay in this place and is eager to go out and experience it.

Once her body recuperates enough, she's going to start practicing the skills from her first life and see if any of the skills she knows from her second can be used.

It's common knowledge the method to accumulate mana so thankfully she doesn't need to search for any scrolls or books on how to do that, but she wants to grab some books on herbs, beasts and see if they have any maps so she can get a grasp of where she's at.

Going through the threshold of the shop she can smell the decades of information stored within these walls.

Walking to the shop clerk she asks:

"I'm looking for books on beasts, plants, and herbs if you have them, and does your shop carry a map of this region or do you know where I could find one?"

Not even bothering to look up from his book, the old man pointed her where to go and went back to putting all his focus on the book in hand. Walking to the rustic shelves Shiy scanned through the options and chose a few to flip through.

After getting a general grasp that more or less she knew most of these plants just under different names, she packed up the books of the ones she didn't know.

After grabbing some books on beasts and plants to take back and study she headed for the maps.

Flipping through the maps she really started to understand just how massive this planet was. From the look of it if she wants more detailed information she'll have to go to a bigger city.

Who knows when that will happen so until then she'll just take it slow and enjoy the ride.

Taking everything up to the counter, the clerk didn't even bother to look up again but named a price. This time it was her turn to be baffled since he gave the correct price, shaking her head she paid the amount and packed everything in her sack.

She didn't buy too much since it would be too heavy for her to carry, satisfied with her trip to town she trotted herself back home.

Arriving at her cozy abode she took a better look around while there's still daylight out. Scanning the yard, she couldn't help but nod her head with glee. The cottage is tucked away at the very outer edge of the town where few reside.

There's a small stream going through the backyard and a small well to the side of the house. Granny had a small garden in front with a variety of things growing. The latrine is also outdoors but thankfully it's covered.

Happy with what she saw Shiy carried her things inside.

Unpacking everything she cleaned herself up wanted to get a better look at the internal condition of this body. In her previous life one of the things those bastards branded in her soul was an unknown tomb they found in an ancient burial of eastern civilization.

Unbeknownst to them it was a breathing practice that allows one to see the condition of themselves, there were plenty of cases like that with those damn mad scientists.

They just kept branding and filling her soul with anything and everything they could without any care to if I or the other test subjects died.

Shiy would secretly practice those things in her last life to prepare for her escape, but it was like God was playing some sick game and the week before she was ready to escape the damn facility got blown up. If she could, she really wanted to find the bitch that is playing these games with her and bend them over her knee.

Feeling her bloodlust rise she calmed herself down and began to take a look at the condition of this little body of hers. Looking at her body she can see that her veins are pretty muddy, and her bones are weak due to never receiving proper nutrition.

Her muscles have almost completely atrophied and some of her organs are in horrible condition, getting a grasp of her overall situation she wants to see start practicing a body strengthening method and would cook later to get some more meat on her bones.

Once she gets some more body mass, she wants to open her mana veins and start on the path of practicing magic. Shiy was genuinely not set back by her attribute results, she had a feeling that it would be a waste not to try and see if her conjecture is correct.

If it is, it will revolutionize magic for non-attribute mages let alone attribute mages.

The way she looks at it, she is currently like a walking akashic record, she has countless information stored in her and as a result of her testing she can remember anything, and every bit of information given to her.

So, she doesn't intend to keep every bit to herself, not to mention it's too much to learn but she'll have to practice from the beginning, so she simply does not have the time.

By releasing information, she won't seem so odd to the outside and when she begins practicing these things herself, she hopes this will also keep dogs from coming to bark up the wrong tree.

She doesn't want to be a tall tree that is easily knocked over but a fat and thick tree that's able to bear all storms.

Shiy doesn't want to kill too many people so early on in her new life, although just in case she'll release her information under a code name.

On the outside she'll use the name Shiyanna and she'll use her test subject name as her code name and to publish books under the alias of K5.

With somewhat of a plan set in motion Shiyanna began to practice a breathing exercise that promotes your body's natural functions to help her heal a little faster. She stayed like that for the next 6 hours.

Breathing out the turbid air she was satisfied with the results of her practice. The next urgent thing on her agenda is to eat.

Getting up she walked to the kitchen and pulled out some oats, beef, and some green vegetables.

Currently Shiy isn't in the position to care too much about taste and focused more on nutrients. Without energy she couldn't practice magic let alone exercise. Lighting a fire and moving a pot over the flame, Shiy filled the pot with water and threw everything into the pot.

Boiling everything until it's cooked, Shiy scooped a hearty portion and began to devour her very first home cooked meal since arriving here. Although it wasn't super tantalizing, it is exactly what she needs at this very moment.

Having more energy, Shiy grabbed the items she bought from the bookstore and began to read everything. Condensing their information, she remembered the new names to the plants and herbs in the book compared to what she previously knew them as.

There were plenty listed that she didn't know so she noted their attributes and uses as well.

After doing the same with the beasts and wildlife Shiy went to the map. She saved the best for last, scanning over the map she noticed at the edges of the map were hints of other land masses at the edges of the map suggesting there are other continents not listed.

She wondered if the Black hall had better maps available and decided to keep that in mind to ask the next time she went. Focusing back to the shown information she now knows she currently resides in Cantel Continent.

It is separated into three segments: lower, middle, and upper level. Each level is separated by natural barriers that become increasingly dangerous to cross according to the level. Looking to the side at the regional map she knows she is currently in the lower level of Cantel in the town of Rist.

Rist is a medium-sized town with an extensive history. It's known for hosting a branch of Million Academy which in turn allowed a flourishing trade network.

Rist is the town located near the nearest city of Lunar. Lunar City is a large city that is known for its unique architecture and beautiful scenery. It's a city located on and around high mountains.

It got its name from when the founder first arrived and saw the way the moon just kissed every ounce of scenery and so henceforth the name Lunar in honor of that first sight.

Making a mental note of interest in Lunar City, Shiy continued to solidify the new information she's learned.
