Jaden looked at Azrid and asked, "What do you plan to do now, my son? You've awakened now so you could enroll in a university like your sisters."
Milane also looked at him, wanting to know his answer. Razmi continued to eat his dinner without interrupting the father and son conversation.
"I think I'm planning to stay here for a few months," Azrid answered. He had already made up his mind about his future goals.
"I see... So you're planning on becoming an adventurer, right?" Jaden nodded and asked in a low voice.
"Yes, father," Azrid nodded seriously.
"Little Azrid, do you know how dangerous it is?" Milane asked worriedly.
"Don't worry, mother. I'm planning to stay here for a while to strengthen my stats first. I just awakened, so my strength is still low," Azrid assured his mother with a gentle smile.
Adventurers were people who ventured into unknown spaces. They were like mercenaries, but they were much more focused on exploration and fighting other species.
Jaden nodded in agreement. "It's true that you need to train and improve your stats before becoming an adventurer. But even with that, it's still dangerous. You have to be careful and always stay alert."
"I understand, father. I will be careful," Azrid promised.
Milane smiled at her son. "As long as you're safe, we support your decision. But you have to return here once in a while. Don't be like your sisters."
Razmi looked up from his plate and said, "I want to be an adventurer too!"
Everyone turned to look at Razmi in surprise. Azrid chuckled and ruffled his little brother's hair. "You still have a long way to go, little brother. But who knows? Maybe you'll become a great adventurer one day."
Razmi beamed with excitement at the thought of becoming an adventurer. Azrid smiled at his little brother's enthusiasm. He knew that Razmi had a long way to go, but he also believed that his little brother could achieve anything he wanted if he worked hard enough.
"Well, it's also some sort of training before I head to the military," Azrid laughed lightly.
"That's right. Military service is mandatory for everyone," Jaden nodded.
Military service for at least one year was a requirement for every human being. Humans needed to have various knowledge in case of a full-blown war, as there were dozens of hostile races out there. They needed some experience in battle to survive.
In military service, both men and women were included, regardless of gender. In the past, even women had to fight for their survival as other races almost wiped out every single man of the human race.
After finishing his meal, Azrid left the house. His parents were nobles on this planet, so they had a vast land. He ran around with all his might until he expended all of his stamina. According to his [Great Devil Bodies] ability, he had to train his physical body to the limit first.
He spent most of his time training his endurance. Of course, Azrid didn't forget the importance of resting. Plus, he had plenty of time since he wasn't in a hurry.
On the next day, he continued his training.
"Ah, fuck, this is harder than I expected..."
After a few hours of training, Azrid collapsed on the ground. He had never trained like this on Earth, so it was quite challenging for him. The only reason he could endure this training was that he wanted to experience the feeling of supernatural powers and accomplish his other goals.
He took out his phone and played some movies to watch while recovering some of his stamina. Azrid wasn't just a bored person who only knew how to train. He also wanted to enjoy his time, so sometimes he would watch movies and eat various snacks.
"Hahaha, damn, this is too good. I wonder if I could do this in my life too. Previously, I couldn't because Earth didn't have supernatural powers, but now... it's different. I awakened great abilities."
Azrid laughed as he tried to imagine what he would do once he becomes more powerful.
*Ding!*
Azrid snapped out as he heard a sound in his mind. He looked over and saw that it was the system. He received some sort of notification.
"Huh? The system...? I thought I could only view my status with it." He wondered as he moved his eyes and looked at the message.
[Proficiency increased!!]
[Great Devil Bodies: 0% › 0.01%]
"Fuck! The increase in proficiency isn't that much!" Azrid sighed. "Well, at the very least, I can track my training speed."
He smiled and shook his head. Step by step, to build up a solid foundation, that's the right way.
The next day...
Azrid received his package: the Super Nutrients that Sisi promised him. She really kept her word. It was important to him as he couldn't afford such expensive things with his current situation. Even if he borrowed money from his parents, he wouldn't be able to buy a box full of Super Nutrients.
"I owe you one, Sisi," he smiled as he carefully pressed the button on the front of the box. A mechanical sound echoed as the upper lid of the box opened slowly. It revealed twenty-five transparent test tubes filled with bluish liquid. These were the Super Nutrients.
"Sisi didn't even take one of these...?" Azrid was a little surprised. He wouldn't have minded if Sisi had only given him five of the test tubes, so it was beyond his expectations that she would give him the entire box. After all, Sisi had worked hard to earn the box of nutrients by joining the youth tournament of engineers and winning it as the prize.
Azrid carefully took out one of the test tubes and looked at the blueish liquid inside. According to Sisi, these nutrients were specially made for people who wanted to increase their physical abilities quickly.
He then opened the cap of the test tube and drank the liquid inside. It tasted like a mix of fruits and vegetables with a hint of sweetness. He felt a strange sensation as he swallowed the liquid. It was like something was flowing inside his body and it made him feel invigorated. It was as if burning his body from the inside. The only way to lesen this feeling was to train his body.
"Whoa... This is amazing."
He could feel the nutrients spreading throughout his body, enhancing his physical capabilities. He then continued his training with renewed vigor, determined to make the most out of the Super Nutrients.
Azrid pushed his body to its limits, running tens of kilometers and lifting hundreds of kilograms of weight repeatedly until he had drained his stamina.
By the time he finished his training, it was already noon. He went to the bathroom and washed the sweat off his body, then went to have lunch with his family. Eating together was very important and it was also a way to bond between family members. They would talk about various things while they ate.
"Son, are you going to apply for graduation? You've become a Tier 1 now so if you're not focusing on professions like engineering then it's better to apply for it," Jaden asked.
"Isn't that too early, my dear? Little Azrid said that he is going to stay here for several months. Also, I want my son to become an educated person," Milane said. She then turned to Azrid. "Right, Little Azrid? You will complete this semester first?"
"Ah... Um... Mother, I already sent an application to my school. They knew that I chose the profession of adventurers," Azrid said hesitantly to his worried mother.
"Why?! Are you going to leave your mother just like your two sisters?!" Milane hugged his arm as she behaved as if she was about to cry.
"Hey, dear. Your son has already made a decision," Jaden tried to stop his wife, but he was met by a fierce glare.
"Shut up, my dear! You didn't even try to stop Leila and Faye when they went to another star system! You even agreed easily!" Milane raised her voice, causing Jaden to flinch.
"Brother, are you going to leave? Does it mean that you are gonna stop bringing me to an amusement park?" Razmo suddenly asked.
"Ah, Little Razmo, your brother is going to leave us too. He's heartless," Milane said.
Azrid smiled wryly while scratching the back of his head. "I will stay here, but your brother will be busy so I don't think that I can bring you out to play." He apologized to his little brother.
"Stop that. Our son has already made up his mind," Jaden said to Milane.
"Yes, mother," Azrid stared into his mother's eyes seriously, wanting to convince her.
"..." Milane couldn't handle it anymore. She sighed as she averted her eyes. "Just promise me, my son. You will take care of yourself."
"Yes, mother," Azrid nodded.
After eating lunch, Azrid called Naoya and Sisi. He told them his plan to become an adventurer first before taking military service. Military service was mandatory and anyone below twenty should attend it. It was preparation for the worst possible scenario. After all, the Milky Way wasn't entirely safe since other races would launch an invasion every month or so.
Regarding this, Azrid recalled the piece of news that he watched on television. The soldiers of the Union Government repelled the people from the Four Arm Race.
"Seriously! Why?" Naoya and Sisi were shocked by his decision.
"I think I will be able to grow faster if I become an adventurer," Azrid explained to them.
"Do you know how dangerous it is? You just become a Tier 1 even higher-tier people die in other dimensions." Naoya said.
"I know." Azrid nodded.
"So why?" Sisi asked.
"That's also one of the reasons. It's dangerous so I will be able to force my potential to the limit. Virtual combat isn't enough." Azrid answered calmly.
"After all, as an adventurer, I will have access to better training resources, equipment, and experience that I won't be able to get elsewhere," Azrid continued.
"But still, you have to be careful," Sisi said with concern.
"I will. And besides, I won't be alone. I plan to join a party and travel with them. I won't take risks recklessly," Azrid reassured them.
"Okay, if you say so," Naoya sighed. "Just don't get yourself killed."
"I won't," Azrid said with determination.
There were other dimensions in the Milky Way Galaxy, and the human race wasn't the only one living there. Other races also inhabited this vast expanse, some of which came from these other dimensions.
"Well, I will not go to any places that are beyond my current level. You know there are rankings in the adventurer community, right? They use them to limit people who want to delve into dangerous territories," Azrid added. He didn't want to risk his life unnecessarily, so he would avoid areas with high death rates, even for higher-tier experts.
"Oh, I see. That makes sense," Naoya nodded in understanding.
"Rid, do you want me to send you some of the gadgets I have?" Sisi offered.
"It's fine. I'm prepared for it," Azrid smiled.
"Okay, then I'll train myself too! I won't let myself be beaten by you!" Naoya exclaimed with excitement.
They chatted for a while longer, discussing their plans for the future and catching up on each other's lives. After the call ended, Azrid felt a sense of relief. It was good to have friends who understood and supported him, even if they were worried about his safety.
Then, he continued to train his body with the help of Super Nutrients. Azrid used all the money he had earned to order the things he would need for exploration.
For an entire week, Azrid worked hard to enhance his physical body. He wanted to purchase specific training technology, but it was expensive and he couldn't afford it even though he was a noble. The technology that the military used to train their personnel was very advanced and costly. Despite his desire to attend military service, he held himself back and focused on becoming an adventurer first.
Azrid checked his profile and saw that his proficiency in [Great Devil Bodies] had reached 0.3%. Although it was a small improvement, he could feel that he was growing stronger with each passing day.
He wasn't in a rush to become a Tier 2 adventurer since it could take several years for some people. Azrid was happy with the progress he had made so far, and he knew that he would reach his goal eventually.
In his free time, Azrid studied various topics that he needed to know as an adventurer. He also trained in the virtual community to improve his combat skills.
Milane initially wanted to stop him, but she could see his determination and held back. She stood in the shadows, observing his training sessions.
