Opal's Point of view

I pace the floor. It was almost dinner time. Rriel hasn't shown up. I know in my heart that it was too good to be true. He's a prince and so handsome in his human form. He would never want to be with me, no matter how intense his heartbeat was.

Yesterday we were almost caught. My mom was shocked that Rriel left the house without her seeing him walk out the door. It took me a while to convince her that he just snuck out.

I spent the day watching a movie by myself, which makes me even sadder. Everything makes me think of my prince boyfriend. Maybe he decided that Emmy was the better choice. If he did, I didn't blame him. I know that deep down inside, she is a better choice.

I hear my mom. She walks through the door, and I automatically smell pizza. I skipped lunch, so my stomach growls.

"No, Rriel?" She asks. She looks disappointed almost as much as I am.

"He must be busy with something." I hope that was the answer. What if I never see him again?
