CHAPTER TEN: NEW FEELINGS

HYUNA'S POV

" Won't you be having dinner today?" I asked Yuri who was seated in the living room watching tiktoks in her phone," I have already had a large meal, iam stuffed." she said as she went back to staring at her phone," By the way Unnie, I met your secret friend." she said as stared at her curiously," secret friend?" I asked as she walked up to where I was," Min Young, does that name ring a bell." she said as I almost spilt my drink," Where did you meet him." I asked as she stared at me and smiled," At the restaurant, he is my new friends brother." she said," Ohh well that's good I guess." I said as I walked away before she asked more questions.

MINA'S POV

"Done!" what do you think?" I said as I showed my newly frosted cake to Van, he had been sparing some time to tutor me via video chat every day, and I had started brushing up on my cake baking and frosting skills," That looks good, I wish I was there so I could eat it." he said as I looked back at it and smiled," Yah.. should I sent you a piece via e-mail." I knocked as we both burst into laughter," You are a natural, if I didn't know how much you love music then i would advise you to become a pastry chef." he added," Well I can add that to my options." I replied," That's it for today, we having plenty of customers, I'll go help." he concluded as he ended the call, I was happy my friend ship with Van had gone back to the way it was and that we didn't have any form of awkwardness between us and I was also glad I had found this new cake obsession that has kept my mind from thinking about anything else," Dinner is ready." Hyuna said as she walked into the bakery," Why did you have to come all the way here, you should have texted me." I said as she sat down," I had nothing to do any way." she said as she looked around and sighed," Is something wrong?" I asked curiously because frankly speaking she didn't look okay," I feel like every one has finally got something to do here but I've got nothing." she said," Meaning?" I asked as I came and sat close to her," Well let's see, Yuri is finally having her life on the move with school, you and your new cake hobby and working in the bakery seems to be working out for you, while I just wake up every day make breakfast or at times I sleep in stare at my phone, feed the horse, water the flowers then sit at the balcony staring at the sky, I feel idle." she explained, I could understand here we had moved to Aayan all the way from the big city to pick out selves up from the devastating life to a more comfortable life," I told you, you can always come and help me out at the bakery." I said with the intention of comforting her," Look I have three deliveries to make tomorrow, you the only one who knows how to ride a car well who has a driver's licence so how about you help me make those deliveries, it can keep your mind from being or feeling idle." I said as she looked at me hesitantly," Come on!" I added as she smiled and nodded in affirmative," That's good, I'll clean the kitchen up and we shall go have dinner." I continued," I'll help you out." she said as we both stood up to clean.

HYUNA'S POV

" I thought when you said that iam going to make deliveries you would have a car to that." i replied to Mina who was asking me how we were going to deliver the cakes," I asked granny yesterday and she said that the car she was using for those broke down and that we should ask one of our neighbours to lend us one, but remember we are new here so I doubt any of them would be ready to lend us their car." she explained as I sighed and passed my hand through my hair, it was. a habit for when I met with a situation I wasn't sure I could handle," How about you ask granny which exact neighbour, we can ask?" I said as she pulled out her phone," I'll text her." she said as we all waited for her to text back," Granny Shin?" Mina mummered as she stared at granny's response," What has she said?" I asked curiously," She has said that we should ask Granny Shin the restaurant owner." she replied as I recalled meeting with her as I searched for the market on our first day here, she seemed like a nice lady but would she be able to lend us her truck?" all these questions ran through my mind," Do you know her?" Mina asked as I snapped out of my thoughts," I think I do, we'll stay here and pack up I will go and ask for the truck." I replied as I grabbed my jacket and headed out.

" Here, is the key." said Min Young as he without hesitation agreed to lending me the truck," Wow, this worked out easier than I expected." I said as I extended my hand," What did you expect?" he asked," I don't know, I expected your granny to refuse, who would trust their truck with a young lady who they have just met a few days back." I said," You have known my granny for years, she wouldn't have made things hard for you." he explained as a nodded my head is in approval," Well I should go now." I said as I turned to enter the truck," Are you sure you won't need my help again?" he asked as I rolled down the car window and stared at him," Why would I need your help aga..." I said as I was stuttled with the car, it was a vintage style truck, iam not sure I can ride this! " I thought to my self as I stared back at him," Sooo?" he said as he smiled at me.

" Thank you." I said to break the awkward silence that had suddenly made me uncomfortable while in the car," For what?" he replied as he turned back and looked at me," for helping out." I replied as I stared back at him," We are friends, friends don't say words like thank you and sorry for little things." he added as I was surprised by his sudden maturity in comparison to the Min Young from junior high so I laughed," Why are you laughing?" he asked," I don't know, you have changed so much from when we last met." I said as he smiled too," You haven't change at all." he replied as I turned back to him in shock," Why do you feel that way?" I asked anxiously,"I don't know you still as soft spoken and pretty as you were back then." he said and there they were the knots in my stomach," Well I...I" why iam I stuttering?, I thought to my self as I rolled down the car window to get fresh air," You right about that." I said as we all burst into laughter," Okay then tell me!" he said as I turned to him curiously," Tell you what?" I asked," What do you feel has changed about me?" he asked as I stopped to think in comparison to the junior high him," Well I can't say much but you have gotten taller." I said mockingly," And?" he asked," And judging from the way you speak you have gotten more responsible." I said," And?" he asked again," Uhhmmm and more handsome." I said as I looked away," The handsome part had to come first." he said Jockingly as we both laughed," You have gotten funnier too, congs." I added as we smiled and enjoyed the rest of the journey reminiscing about the past.

After the deliveries, I felt relieved and thankful to Min Young, he had been a great help from driving me to locating the places for me and even helping me to talk to the customers, it felt tiring I couldn't help wonder how granny did all this alone," Okay that was our last one." I said as I happily stared at min Young who also seemed to be staring at me," Oh jeez the stomach knots are back." I said as I turned my eyes away quickly and touched my stomach," Uhhmmm it's Almost getting dark, should we get something to eat?" he asked as I nodded," I know a good place around here." he added as we moved back to the car.

The place he talked back was an open restaurant with alot of delicious street food seeing that it was filled with alot of people," What would you like to have?" Min Young asked as I looked around, everything looked so good," Can you help me choose?" I asked ," Okay since she is new here and has never had any of the great food, we shall have egg fried noodles and beef skewers, make them a little spicy, she can't handle spicy food." he said as I stared at him in shock, how did he even know that I can't handle spicy food, right we went to junior high together but I don't remember stating that fact.' I thought to my self," Will that be okay." he asked," Yes!" I replied as we moved to our table and waited for our food," This place has alot of people." I said as I looked around," Yes! many people come here for midnight snacks too, it has delicious food." he replied," Kang Hyuna." he called," Yes." I replied as he looked at me," Iam really glad to see you again." he said as our eyes locked again, ' where was he getting all these words from' I thought to my self," Here is your order." said the food uncle," Thank you!" Min Young said as he gave passed me a pair of chop sticks," Thank you." I said to him as I took a bite," How is it?" he said as he stared at me curiously," It's delicious." I said as I took an even bigger bite," I told you." he replied as he took a bite on his own food and paused to appreciate how delicious it was," Why do you look like this is your first time eating here?" I asked seeing how he was appreciating the food," It feels like my first time, everytime I come here." he replied as we both laughed, the night was young, the wind was blowing and we were having a delicious hot meal together...

MIN YOUNG'S POV

" Come on granny let's use your truck?" I pleaded to my grandmother who was still hesitant to lend the truck to Park Hyuna," Is this about the truck or the person asking for the truck." Granny asked as I stopped and stared at her," What? you think I don't know that you have a photo of Kang Hyuna in your wallet, the one we took during your junior high school graduation." she said," When did you go through my wallet?" I asked anxiously," Well it was a mistake but Iam glad I did other wise I would never have known the reason why my 26 year old grandson didn't want to go to any of the blind dates I set him up too." she replied, she was right though and the fact that I was ready to let go of my 10 year old crush on Kang Hyuna, since I didn't have any hope of ever seeing her again, but then she appeared right at my door step once again with the same innocence she had back in school the same beauty, the same eyes that made me fall for her, I don't believe in things like fate and destiny but there is no other word I could use to explain why after so long, she came back to me...and this time I was finally going to say that word I've been wanting to tell her for ten whole years....I LOVE YOU KANG HYUNA.
