CHAPTER NINE: NEW FRIENDS

HYUNA'S POV

" Good morning." said Mina as she sat by the table for break fast, I couldn't help notice her messy hair and dark circles," What happened to you, were you fighting in your sleep?"Yuri asked Jockingly as we all burst into laughter," She didn't get any sleep." I said recalling seeing her sitted at the table at around 2am when I went to grab some water," I was so motivated by the thank you text from my first customer yesterday, I stayed up all night writing down cake recipes." Mina said," So you getting into the bakery business with granny?" I asked," Well I don't have anything to do so it ain't that bad." she replied as we all nodded in affirmation," Okay! Good luck with your business, I'll go to school now." Yuri said as she stood up," You haven't had all your break fast." I said as she picked up a bun and her bag the rushed outside....

YURI'S POV

Reaching school I was surprised to not be nervous, I mean I should be since it was the first day at a new school, I had to worry about making friends being judged, bullied but I wasn't all I wanted to do was study hard since it's my senior year then walk out to college," Here!" Mrs Shin my new home room teacher said as she handed me a schedule that I had to follow," We having my class first so you can wait there and I'll show you the way." she said as she smiled at me she had this fair skin tone, blonde hair that she carefully held out in a pony and a gently curved smile," Okay." I said as I sat down and waited for her, as I looked around the room, a boy was pushed to his knees by a certain male teacher, on observing clearly it was the boy I helped out the other day," What has Ye Jun done today." said another male teacher who was having coffee from across the room, Ye Jun on the other hand had his head bowed down," I caught him jumping over the fence." the teacher that bought him in explained," How many times do I have to tell you that I wasn't jumping over the fence!" Ye Jun said in a complaining tone," Hey! are you talking back at me." The teacher said as he pushed his head," Stop it Mr Han." Mrs Shin said as she walked close to Ye Jun," I'll deal with my students." she added in a cool tone the other Mr Han was staring in shock at her, the moment was applaud worthy, as I gave a slight smirk, I was surprised to see Ye Jun staring right at me so I waved because I thought he'd remember me since I helped him but to my dismay he just looked the other side," Aiisshh." I said out of anger," Kang Yuri, did you say anything?" Mrs Shin asked," No no." I replied as I angrily glared back at Ye Jun who was still kneeling on the floor," Lets go then." she said as I picked my back pack and followed her outside," Right Ye Jun, you coming too, bring those papers on my desk as well." she added as Ye Jun stood up and walked to her desk lazily.

You could hear shouting from students in the hall way, I on the other hand was suddenly having sweaty palms as I slowly followed behind Mrs Shin, On entering the class the noise from the students slowly faded as they all turned their attention to me," Good morning class." Mrs Shin said as they all stood up replied and bowed in respect for her," Ye Jun, you can take your seat." she said as he put down the scripts and went to seat down, every one was making funny cheering noises for him," We have a new student, I'll let her use three minutes to introduce her self and then take a seat." Mrs Shin continue as every ones eyes were now drawn to me," Hello, My name is Kang Yuri I hope we can all get along." I said as I bowed, all student's reacted with applauds," You may go sit right there." Mrs Shin said as she pointed me to a seat Infront of Ye Jun, next to a girl with black with bangs, she seemed pretty welcome as she introduced her self to me the moment I sat down," Hello, iam Nana." she said as she extended her hand in for a hand shake," Kang Yuri." I said as she gave me a friendly smile, I started to feel at ease with my self as I looked around the class room," Now that we settled down, I want you to remove all your books from your desks, we having a pop quiz." Mrs Shin said as every one started rumbling," Pop quiz!" Nana exclaimed as she looked back at Ye Jun who had already cleared his table," Ye Jun, you carried the papers inside, does that mean you saw the questions?." she asked as he nodded his head in affirmative," That's good, wait do you know the answers to the questions too?" she asked as he shook his head again," What's the entire point of knowing the questions and not the answers." Nana complained as she looked back at me," Wait will you be doing the quiz too?" she asked and just then I turned to Mrs Shin," Teacher! will Kang Yuri be taking the quiz too?" she asked," No! this is for everyone except Kang Yuri who has just joined us." Mrs Shin clarified as I laid out a sigh of relief," Okay pass the papers to your friends." Mrs Shin said...

" Thank you so much for the help earlier." said Nana, after the papers were given out I took a look at the questions and they seemed do-able so I helped her out," It's fine." I replied politely," It's not just fine, how about I treat you to a nice and warm meal." she said," How come I help you with test alot and you have never offered to treat me?" interrupted Ye Jun who was still pretending not to recognise me," You always have meals at my place, what's there to treat you." Nana replied as Ye Jun turned and stared at me," Well I'll add to the treat too, I owe you one as well." he said in a confusing tone," What! didn't you help me out last time." he added that's when I put two on two together and realised he was talking about that time in the wash room, so he had not forgotten me then why did he ignore my wave in the staff lounge earlier," Owes you, what did you do for Ye Jun?" Nana asked curiously," It's none of your business, I'll see you during lunch for the treat." he said as he moved out of the class room," what did you do for him?" Nana continued as she got even more curious....

HYUNA'S POV

I stared at my phone the entire time while waiting for a call from the person who promised to hire me, I was getting anxious and started to feel idle after having to sit home all day, I had woke up had break fast cleaned the house, fed the horse, walked around, done grocery shopping but it all felt boring to me.." What should I do next?" I said as I heard my phone ring through all my excitement disappeared when I realised it wasn't the call I was waiting for," Hello Granny!" I said as I sad by the window," What's this why do you sound disappointed to hear from me." she said," iam not, by the way aren't you supposed to be back by now." I asked curiously," I have to extend my visit for a few more days, I called to tell you that and to ask you to manage the bakery for me while iam gone." she said as suspicious as she sounded, I didn't put more thought to it," It's okay granny Mina has already been possessed with the spirit of baking so she will handle the bakery, I will help her too." I replied as I had her chuckle from her side of the phone," Just take good care of yourself granny, take your medicines have a good rest." I said in a worrying tone," I will, you should take good care of your selves too, don't hesitate to call me incase of anything." she added," Okay, good bye." she added as she hang up....after the call all the boredom rushed to me again.

YURI'S POV

" Here, what would you like to have?" asked Nana as she handed me the menu, it seemed to be her granny's restaurant," I will have anything." I said politely," Come on, it's our treat so choose what you want to have." Ye Jun said as I took a look at the menu again," Noodles with meat balls." I said as they both laughed," why would you choose something cheap, you don't have to worry about the money, granny owns this place and she said I could have my friends over at any time." Nana said as she pulled the menu out of my hands and signalled the waiter who seemed to be familiar,« Oh it's the guy Hyuna came with last time» I said as I unconsciously pointed at him," What's wrong Yuri?" Nana asked as all their attention drifted to me," It's nothing." I said as I cleared my throat," So we shall have three bowls of noodles with meat balls." Nana said as the waiter slightly slapped her head," And who will be paying for that?" he asked," Well Ye Jun will be paying half and I will be paying the other half." she said," Don't make things awkward Min Young, iam treating my new friend to a meal." she added as Min Young turned to look at me," Kang Yuri!" I said," My name is Kang Yuri." I added as he stared at me," Kang!" he replied," Kang Yuri, Kang Hyuna, are they sisters." he mummered loudly," Yes, Kang Hyuna is my sister." I replied as he smiled at me," Nice to meet you, iam Shin Minyoung, this foolish girls older brother." he said as I shook his hand," Iam also your sisters good friend so consider this treat mine." he added as he left," Woah you being treated to meals alot today." Ye Jun said as he smiled at me which felt wierd since I got knots in my stomach, the kind I only get when iam watching my rom com dramas, plus he was cute with brown eyes," Stop it Yuri!" I said as I snapped my self from that thought.....

GRANNY KANG'S POV

" Make sure you take care of your selves and don't hesitate to call me if you encounter a problem." I said as I hang up on my grand daughter I felt guilty for lying to them but I felt even more bad for telling them that I was in hospital for my monthly supervision, after being diagnosed with blood cancer I secretly under went chemotherapy with the help of my son, no one except him and I knew about this so since then I've been required to come for a supervision every month, so yes I lied to them I wasn't at a friend's place but in the hospital doing medical screenings and check ups..
