CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN: HARD TIMES. PART ONE

" Calm down, everything will be okay." Min Young said as he pulled me in for a hug,That comfort only made my heart ache more as I started crying," Calm down." he said softly as I held tight onto him.

In the Morning, there was no time to waste me and granny boarded a taxi cub to the main hospital to meet her attending doctor, Min Young had agreed to help me out with the tutoring cafe admissions and I had agreed to tell Mina and Yuri everything that was happening in the hospital with granny.

In a few hours, we had reached granny insisted to immediately go to the hospital so we didn't stop by a hotel to settle in First," The check up will take two hours at most you can have some rest in my office." Dr Jason said as I nervously sat down while my phone rung," Hello, Hyuna I know I have already called you ten times now but iam just so worried." Mina said," Well granny is still in for her check up they haven't really elaborated more on her treatment plan." I said," Okay then I'll wait for you to call me." she said like she has been doing for the previous nine calls," Okay." I said as I hang up...and checked my wrist watch.

Granny was finally done with her treatment and now we were waiting to hear from Dr Jason who was still analysing her test results," It really has relapsed and it's on stage four." he said as I held my granny's hand," That we have been told but then again we wanted to hear it from some one who knows my granny's condition better...is their a treat ment plan?" I asked," Well we could do chemotherapy again but due to your granny's age then it will be a more complicated process." he said as I looked at granny who was already getting teary eyes," it might have side effects and we can't really guarantee it won't cause problems while and after it's being administered." he continued," Uhhmmm thank you doctor but can I take a day to think about this?" granny asked," What's their to think about granny,you need treatment." I said as I held her hand," Let's go Hyuna." she said as she slowly walked out, I followed her closely behind," Granny what's on your mind?" I asked as she continued walking.

" Iam okay...and thank you for helping me with the tutoring cafe." I said to Minyoung as I dried my hair with a towel," Its fine...if I can't help my girl friend out then who can I?" he said as I smiled softly," I'll get going now." I said as I hang up and went to check on granny...who was lying down to rest, looking at her really made my heart ache, I was trying to imagine how she was feeling at the moment but I couldn't," Everything will be alright." I said as I tucked her in and kissed her forehead.

MINA'S POV

" Okay then keep me posted." I said as I went back to my work," What the!!" I exclaimed as knocked over the cup of coffee, I wasn't really my self today it's like everything happened so fast and dint give me the time to get used to it first..." I'll help you." Aaman said as he bought over a cloth and wiped the counter," You should have some rest I'll run the bakery and cafe." he said as I looked back at him hesitantly," It's okay I need to work to get my mind off what's happening." I said as he held my hands," Then you'll keep making mistakes, just let me help you out today." he said as he leaned in and kissed my forehead," Okay,?" he asked as I nodded and turned to leave.

YURI'S POV

" How are things with your brother?" I asked Ye Jun," He....iam not really sure what to feel about him as of yet." he replied," What about you, Are you okay?" he asked as I turned to look at him with teary eyes," Iam not..." I replied being honest with what I was feeling," Iam scared." I added as Ye Jun came closer and pulled me in for a hug," It's okay." he said as I held him tighter,I was really scared was granny going to die like mom did...then we would be alone with no one else to look up on," The thought of that made me cry even harder."

HYUNA'S POV

" Granny wake up I just bought you porridge." I said as I laid it in a small table and headed to the room where granny was sleeping," Granny..." I said nervously as I realised she wasn't there," Granny..." I yelled as I checked every where the balcony the bath room literally almost checked the drawer since I was so scared, I walked out of the room and onto the reception to check if any one had seen her..." Where are you?" I said nervously as tears rolled down my cheeks....

GRANNY KANG'S POV

I stepped out to think, get fresh air and rinse my mind off whatever was happening, I walked and walked but the only place I knew I wanted to go too was the prison in which my son was locked up, I know I said I disowned him and I know what he did was the most awful thing but iam a mother and you can't stop me from thinking about him especially in this situation where I can absolutely die at why moment," You may have to wait here...we shall bring him out." said the prison guard as I sat and waited.

On coming out, he looked really different should I say tougher, he had those bruises on him that were a clear indication that he had been in numerous fights while here, he couldn't believe it was me he saw as he sat down a clear smile drew in his face," Mom? what are you doing here, mom are you fine?" he asked many questions which one should I answer first..." Mom how are the girls?" he asked again," If you really cared about how we felt and why did you do what you did?" I asked," Why did you have to do something that created such a gap between you your daughters and your mom?" I said with tears in my eyes," You ruined everything." I added as he shook his head while crying," Anyways I also don't know why I came here but it certainly isn't because I missed you...I guess I just felt the need to see you because good or bad, iam still your mom." I said.." Mom!" he exclaimed as he reached out for my hands..but the glass between us couldn't let him," Mom iam sorry." he said.." Iam sorry." he added as he threw his head into his palms and cried....I wanted to hug him despite having said all those mean words to him...but I couldn't...

HYUNA'S POV

I tried to call granny's phone but she had left it lying on the bed, I couldn't take it so I went to the police station but even they said I couldn't report her missing untill it's 24 hours I was worried nervous and scared at the same time as I squat on the side of the road and cried.

While I was engrossed in my worry,I received a call from the hotel saying they saw my granny head up to our room, J Quickly wiped my tears and found my way back to the hotel fast..I thanked the receptionist for calling me and headed to my room where I found granny standing outside since she had no key with her...," Granny." I called out as I ran in and hugged her while I cried," Where were you?" I asked as I held her even tightly..." it's okay." he said as she slowly passed her hand on my hair," it's okay." she added.

" Okay granny no more getting out without informing me." I said," Your Porridge even got cold...I'll go and buy another one for you...please don't go anywhere this time." I said as she assured me by going to her room.

The next day we went back to the hospital since granny had made her decision," What estimated time will I have left if I don't do chemotherapy?" she asked as I stared back at her with a shocked face," Granny." I called out," well since you relapsing it could be a year or less than a year." Dr Jason replied," Granny, why are you asking all these questions?" I asked in a shaky voice," I have decided not to do chemotherapy again." she said as I turned to her," Granny.." I called out," Doctor..say Something to her." I said," I'm a doctor and I respect my patients decision... but may I know why?" he asked as we both turned to granny,"Yes granny why...?" I asked too," Chemotherapy take a long time and it only decreases but doesn't cure I've already wasted enough time on it...iam old as is so I want to spend what your would call the last moments of my life with my grandchildren and friends and also doing all the things I love and not in a hospice." she explained but it was too much for me to take in," granny..I don't know what made you decide like this but I don't agree.. Doctor Jason please give us one more day to decide." I said as I grabbed granny's hand and headed out.

" Granny!" I called out as she went and locked her self in the room," Granny...." I added as I squat down by her door and cried my eyes out," Please do the treatment." I said," Granny....you don't have to leave us as well." I added as I threw my head in my palms and cried...
