Kei sits in the café quietly, sipping on a cappuccino. She wasn’t one for coffee before, but after trying it one time with Rika, she found herself ordering them every time she came to this particular location. Usually she’d be waiting for Rika on a normal day, but today isn’t normal.
“Kei?” She looks up to see Elliot approaching her with a small smile, and she stands up to greet him just as he reaches the table. He looks much the same as always, perhaps just a bit brighter.
“Elliot, thank you for coming.” She hugs him without hesitation, catching him slightly off guard, but he quickly returns one of his own, embracing her lightly. “You seem fairly well, are you?”
“I’m better than most days I’d say. I’m sure I have you to thank for that,” he says with a tone of gratitude as they separate. “I should be asking if you’re ok. I know we all had a tense night.”
