The two hold hands as they slowly make their way back down the path, still on a high from their recent developments. “So…, want to explain those wings of yours? I think they’re kinda new.”
“Oh…I guess you would find them a bit surprising.” Nadia laughs lightly. “Well, to be honest, they were a surprise to me too. I ugh, I didn’t want to tell you, but the one time you stayed away for a weekend, I got pretty sick. Like, I could hardly get out of bed and ran a very high fever.”
“Oh my god, Nadia! Why didn’t you tell me? I remember that weekend and we spoke both days on the phone. You sounded fine…were you playing it off for me?” She pouts. “Bad girl Nadia.”
Nadia rubs her head nervously. “Sorry love, I know. I should’ve, but I didn’t want to worry you. I obviously lived though, so would you forgive me Keiko? Please?” She kisses her hand softly.
Keiko frowns, but she can’t hold it for long. “Very well, but you better not do that again, ok?”
