Disappointment

Dexter didn't know he would arrive that fast at Lynn's house, but his night was already worse than the worst so he didn't expect anything else.

Lynn's bodyguard parked the car in front of his house and Lynn got down. He went in the backseat and caught Dexter by his hand.

He dragged Dexter out of the car and told his bodyguard: "Thanks for bringing us here. You're free. Tomorrow morning I want you to be here early. We need to meet with the boss so we should be there somewhere at 8."

His bodyguard nodded and then he left. Dexter glared after the car which faded in the darkness of the night. Lynn dragged him by his hand and threw him into the house.

Lynn locked the front door and then came back to Dexter. He took him by his hand again and dragged him into his bedroom.

He turned on the light and then looked at Dexter with that cold, nervous look, with no sign of any facial expression. He locked the door of his bedroom too and then approached Dexter.

Dexter bit his lip while Lynn's eyes narrowed. He glanced at him as he waited for something.

There was a deep silence between them, until Lynn broke it: "So? Will you tell me what were you so mad about?"

Dexter looked at the ground and then a sudden burst of anger hit him. He clenched his fists and his teeth while he raised his look and confronted Lynn's scary eyes.

"How can you ask me this?! How can you not know this?!" Dexter screamed in anger.

"Tell me what the fuck is bothering you! Do you want me to guess now?! How can I know when you don't tell me?! Do you think I have some sort of power to read your mind?! Say it with subject and predicate!"

Suddenly, Dexter's cheeks started to fill with tears. Lynn couldn't tell if they were tears of sadness or madness. He looked up at Lynn with his eyes glowing and with tears in them. Somehow, that face of Dexter's made Lynn's eyes widen and it made him feel sorry for the sudden reaction.

"You... You invited me... You came there, knowing what will happen... And you invited me to dinner... I was happy that I'll go out to a normal dinner with you, without anything bad happening... I thought you had good intentions, but I've been mistaken..."

Lynn's eyes widened more as he listened to Dexter. He doesn't know what happened to him, but he felt sorry for what he just did, something that's not usual for him. He never felt sorry for anyone... until now.

Lynn's mouth opened, wanting to say something, but the words weren't coming out of it. A sudden burst of anger hit Lynn out of nowhere, and the only person he could be pissed off by was Dexter.

Lynn clenched his teeth while his eyes were glowing, full of hatred. He couldn't understand why Dexter didn't thank him for what he did.

Dexter was caught off-guard when Lynn started walking closer to him and grabbed his neck.

Lynn brutally slammed Dexter by the wall with his hand around his neck, holding him tight.

"I've done that... Only... For your good." he finally answered with a thick scary voice.

"My good?... How was that supposed to be for my good?! The only one who got out pleased by the situation was that reckless boss of yours!" he screamed back while holding Lynn's hand, trying to stop him from holding it tighter, but he failed.

Lynn's hand was holding Dexter's neck even tighter, while his personal space was invaded by Lynn's body. Dexter was mad and scared, while Lynn was angry. He tried to solve the problem, but he had the impression that Dexter didn't want to.

"Both of us, me and him, and even you knew that even if I begged you, you wouldn't come to see Louis. We had put a plan for you to come to that restaurant to see me but instead, you met him. Look at me and tell me that you actually would've come if I didn't take you with force." he looked intensely at him.

"I... I wouldn't come..." Dexter answered.

"See?!... I just tried to make the work easier for you... I just tried to make the work easier for you... I tried to explain that he was dangerous and that he can do much worse than this. I'm saying this to you because I want to keep you safe and because I know him better than you do! If you don't obey him or his words he can erase you from the face of Earth."

"You don't realize, but you're exactly like him." Dexter replied.

Lynn's eyes widened after those words came out of Dexter's mouth. He didn't see himself as a killer... And he didn't think he was like that man Louis either.

His hand fell slightly from Dexter's neck as he coughed and tried to breathe. Lynn's hand was stronger than he thought. He looked into Lynn's eyes and he wondered why he let him go. He could easily just kill him for all he cared about Dexter's state.

Lynn looked down at Dexter a bit concerned, but he still kept his merciless and scary look on his face.

He helped Dexter get up and then he looked back into his eyes while saying: "I just want to keep you safe. The only way to do that is to follow Louis's words until he gets bored of you. He can easily just kill you if you don't do what he tells you to."

"Are you sure... There's no other way?..." Dexter asked, almost crying but he kept his cool in front of Lynn.

"No... No other way... He'll eventually get bored by making out only with someone and he'll leave you alone."

"When will that happen?"

Dexter looked into Lynn's eyes and he was so vulnerable to him. His heart fluttered for a second.

"I don't know... I guess we'll just have to wait. I know you're strong and you can go through it. I'll be here whenever you need me, but I'll also need to drive you there if he commands me to."

"It looks like you're stuck with him. Why did you do that? Why did you got involved with him?"

Lynn's eyes widened again at Dexter's questions. He was hesitant about it, but he told him: "I didn't have any other choice. I was in your place and he just said that he'd like for me to be in his organization. I simply just agreed out of curiosity."

"Wait... Are you saying that... You had... You did... You did it with him?!"
