Rapidum discere

[I'm going to share some of my knowledge with you to help speed up your learning process. Are you ready to receive it?]

"Uh, hold on a sec. Are you telling me you're about to download your entire universal knowledge into my tiny little brain? Uh ah, that sounds kind of scary! But hey, if you promise I won't spontaneously combust or start speaking in JavaScript, I'm all ears!"

[nah, don't worry I'm going to transfer just the first chapter of each domain in basic level, it's not going to hurt … a lot]

"a lot? So, it's going to hurt … ah f**k. just do it!"

[Great! Open the page 254, and read its content]

As I held Brook in my hands, I began flipping through its pages. To my surprise, each page seemed to contain an endless stream of shifting writing, jumping between multiple languages and scripts. The sheer volume of information was overwhelming, and it seemed like there was no clear content to be found.

But as I continued my search, my eyes fell upon page 254. To my surprise, it was completely empty. No writing, no symbols, no incantations. Just a blank page staring back at me.

"But there is nothing--" as I spoke complaining about the situation, two words manifested in the blank page.

"Rapidum discere" I spoke what was written, then the letters around me started glowing a faint light.

Brook hovered before me, its pages glowing with symbols and incantations.

The knowledge of creation, destruction, enhancement, and manipulation flooded into my mind as I stood before it.

The incantations swirled around me, filling me with awe and terror. I heard words like "blossom," "shatter," "amplify," and "control," each one a tool for shaping the world around me.

As the flow of incantations ended, I stood there unfazed as a soft breeze hit me, this knowledge now a part of me, ready to be called upon whenever I needed it. The incantations had swirled into my mind and become a part of me.

Without a second thought, I instinctively took four steps back and began to speak the first incantation that came to mind.

[By divine forge and godly might,

I call forth the greatest spear in sight.

With perfect balance, sharp as a hawk's claw,

We shall conquer all with this weapon of awe.]

The words flowed from my lips with ease, almost as if they were already a part of me. I could feel the energy building within me, crackling and pulsing with power. The letters glowed and assembled just the letters that I uttered assembled in the air and manifested as the sentence I said then ... it just melted into nothingness a different behaviour from the chatters when I was doing it the wrong way.

I felt a sudden surge of energy coursing through my body, and in an instant, the world around me shifted.

Before me, materializing out of thin air, was a magnificent spear, its shaft straight and sturdy, its blade gleaming in the light.

I couldn't help but gasp in amazement at its beauty, marvelling at how perfect it looked in every way. Just exactly how I imagined it.

"Tell me Brook. what are these reality anchors?"

Just as I asked him.

I tried the next the next incantation that came to my mind was making the weapon elemental something like fire spear. I took a deep breath and started incanting the verses on the tip of my tongue.

[By the power of the flames that dance in the hearth,

I call upon the element of fire to give my weapon its worth.

Infuse it with your fiery might,

Let it blaze with the strength of the sun's light.

With this chant, I summon forth the flame,

To turn my weapon into a burning spear of fame.

Let it scorch my enemies with its heat,

And make them fall beneath my feet.]

A particle of fire materialized out of thin air and enveloped the spear, imbuing it with a fierce, crimson flame. As the fire danced along the blade, it etched a new design into the metal, creating a mesmerizing display of light and heat that crackled with energy. The flames continued to burn brightly, giving the weapon a deadly edge and a fearsome aura.

If there's a word better cool I would say it … no wait words like these are in my head ... Astounding, breath taking, stunning but I'll stick with cool. Since it's cool…

As my excitement began to subside, Brook gradually slowed the pace of the page flipping before finally coming to a stop and settling into my hands,

[what did you ask?]

"Do you have any idea about the reality anchors? Your master once mentioned it but I didn't understand what It meant at that time"

[Reality anchors? Hmm … I don't know never heard of it and it's not in my database. Why do you ask?]

"Spoilers…" ah! I said it.

After finishing my workout, I headed back to my room. Although I had not experienced any side effects from using my ability so far, I knew that I needed to be cautious.

The spear I had created with my ability was incredibly powerful, causing space to wobble around its blade. I had used a destruction incantation to hide it, I can't let myself become a weapon machine to chamenopolis.

As I made my way back to my room, I was delighted to run into Clara, the only person who could always make me feel at ease with her warm smile. Over the past few weeks, as I waited for Brook, we had grown closer. Although our friendship had not yet progressed to physical intimacy, our bond had become deeper and more meaningful.

"…'sup!"

"Oh Gustang, how was your training today?"

"Refreshing … as always, but it seems my stats reached the limits of a one-star blessed? And I am pretty confused on what to do for the next step."

"The next evaluation is still about two months away. For now, I suggest focusing on your studies and working hard. It's important to make the most of your time here, especially since I suspect the opening ceremony of the human district is fast approaching. This means that soon, you may need to start paying for your living arrangement.

"Aha, I see …" The human district was established within a year, but with the help of humans who possessed superhuman abilities, the construction process was accelerated. They started assisting in the project three months after its inception, and their contribution in terms of numbers and abilities proved to be invaluable in completing the project within the given timeframe.

"Hey Gustang, have you checked yourself out in the mirror yet?" he asked with genuine curiosity.

"What? I usually do, but I didn't look at myself for 2 hours, yeah, I didn't… is there something about my face?"

"You seem like your usual self, but I noticed something different about your eyes. They look lighter today, almost resembling the colour of coffee more than the usual brown."

"Isn't the colour the same regardless?"

"Almost, but … I'm just noticing a subtle difference in the tone today, after all I was the one that made your identity card."

"Hey, don't start flirting with me all of a sudden like that. You know mentioning my eyes makes me feel embarrassed; it's a bit of a sensitive spot for me."

"Ahahaha … but, not just your eyes you as whole changed a lot in these 3 months"

It seems that I have been quite productive following my current time schedule. However, I cannot ignore the fact that things are likely to change soon. This period could be considered the calm before the storm.

"Did you have something to eat this morning?" I asked, changing the topic.

"I had breakfast with Saskia before she left"

"You still have enough space for a second meal?"

"Oh, I wouldn't mind having seconds ... By the way, the human reception trainees are arriving today, but luckily, it's my day off. You can go take a shower first, and I'll follow you shortly after,"

"See you, then"

As I made my way upstairs, I was greeted by the popular squad - they had just returned from a training session. Thana's training gear had some scorch marks on it, Aeron was limping as though he had just come back from a battlefield, and Gerick was holding his spear with its blade covered by a leather case. It was clear that they had given their all, no more like everything was taken from them during their training.

"Good morning, everyone! How was your training?" I greeted them. Over time, I had developed a connection with them since I had greeted them over 80 times. Perhaps this was the reason why my charisma stats had increased - due to the connections I had made with these people and working at Sebastien's cafeteria.

"Cesar, my trainer told me that 'a warrior fears nothing,' and I agreed with him because I want to become a fearless warrior too," Aeron said, his voice filled with pain and sorrow. His eyes looked empty as he continued, "But then he proceeded to show me his ****."

"Wait… don't tell me he is …"

"Yep, a vampire"

"What have they done to my little boy?"
