First day on the job

Magnus woke up, stretching under the weight of the white blanket over his body. They had checked into a five star hotel. The outside of the hotel was a plain, beige neoclassical building, but the inside was bedazzled with gold walls, gold marble floors and golden chandeliers.

God, this hotel was obnoxiously gold. Magnus pulled the blanket off his body, eyes falling on the two men on their own bed, snoring away.

It was the early hours of dawn, and the detectives would be expecting them in two hours. He walked up to Mortale first, studying the peacefully sleeping man, trying to find a way to wake him up without angering him.

Magnus decided to just shake him awake, and it went much smoother than he anticipated. The swordsman slowly opened his eyes, a groan leaving his lips as he pushed himself up.
