CHAPTER - 10 NEW BENCH MATE

Jae POV -

i opened my eyes to look who it was .

It was my mom who wiped my tears , I was dreaming all this while.

I went to my take bath and I told myself that I will do what I dreamt off today.

I entered the class and saw lucky opposite to me.

But I didn't look at her, I couldn't bring myself to talk to her.

I couldn't accept the fact that she spoke bad about me and is behaving all might, right in front of me .

I went to my seat and put my head down as i did yesterday.

I heard a voice saying "hey come, this way" I think its lucky's voice calling Rathika

I can feel that she sat next to me. (Rathika)

We didn't speak to one another. I stopped bringing lunch to school, since I didn't have anyone to have lunch with.

I would roam during lunch time and start drink water during lunch hour and go.

Even our French class was in silence.

I felt like the whole world is turning silent around me for some reason.

Nivi used to pestering me to talk to her as usual.

Though I knew that she had some sought of intrest, I did not wanna give hope for her so I will always avoid talking back to her.

I used to go to band class and PT class after school just to distract myself from the problem that's going on in the class.

I started participating in all the possible competition that was kept, in and around the school

I put in my full effort in the competitions that I participated.

Though I lost in some competition, I won in most of the competition which i participated , since I had the best set of group both in band and sports and our co ordination used to be very good, and was much better than the other competitors that participated

One fine day after my band practice, I went to my class to attend lecture.

Since the staff did not come to the class, I put my head on the table and closed my eyes .

Also once the staffs leaves the class I started doing the same.

That's when class teacher told

Teacher – "lets switch seats" "why both boys and girls are sitting combined "

Class –" ohhhhh noooooo we don't want ""we wanna sit with our friends" "we don't wanna switch seat" each one started screaming on their own

Teacher – " this is not gonna work now !" " everyone take your bag and leave the class and sit in the order that I ask you to sit"

"now take your bags and get out without making any kind of chaos"

As the class teacher said, everyone left the class and stood outside .

Since I was short I was in the front in order and the teacher knows me well as a mischief student, So she made me sit with a quite muslim boy.

When it was rathika's and lucky's turn the teacher told that they were good students and asked them to sit wherever they wanted to

I thought to myself *this is gonna be the end of the friendship between me, Rathika and lucky, Because even when we were sitting together in the class we didn't speak for the past few days, so since they switched seats, there is no way we are gonna get back together *

Again I lied down in my bench

Teacher – "so this is gonna be your seat for this full academic year, dont ever thing of switching seats"

"hey" I heard a whisper "Aslam aalaikum"

I turned to see who the owner of the voice was

It was none other than the new boy.

I replied with a "hi" without any facial expression and put my head back

But he chose to continue the conversation and told me " so we are gonna share this seat for this whole year" "do you plan not to speak to me the whole year ?"

Hearing this I sat up straight , "nope . hi I am janet" I put my hand forward

Harshiya – "hi dude my name is harshiya mohammed , not harshiea but harshiya"

He holded on to my hand and shaked it heavily.

For which my eyes widened because of his aggressive behavior

Harsh started talking about his schooling and how he was discipline at home and how he has his was to get things done, about his hobbies and his pass time.

Which I was listening to him in silence.

In the back of my mind the only thing that was going on was *I cant be a loner for the next 2yrs*

Even if I don't have someone to call as best friend, at least I should be able show someone as a friend from my higher secondary, So I started to bracing up myself .

It was lunch period and harsh asked me to have lunch together with him

Harsh -"hey lets have lunch together" "what have you got ?"

Jae – " I didn't bring lunch and is not in the mood to eat" "you go ahead and have your food man"

I lied down again .

In a few minutes I heard a knock sound on my bench.

Without lifting my head I just turned my head to the direction with my head on the bench above my hand.

Rathika - "come , we'll have food"

Jae – " I am not hungry" saying this i turned my face . but to gain my attention she spoke again.

Rathika – "okay come and sit with us "

Jae – " am not coming" i said with a straight face

Rathika – "okay"

She didn't turn back and started walking fast.

That's when I started thinking

#may be am showing my anger on the wrong person#

And because of my damn ego I didn't go behind her.

~~~2 min later ~~~

i heard a very loud sound

!!!!!Dong!!!!! I got startled and shouted

Jae -"who the hell !"

"yeah yeah hell only " I heard a female voice .my face which was frowning all this while changed into a gentle smile and said

Jae -"hey pavi " "what are you doing here? "

Pavi – "why are you not eating"

Jae – "I didn't feel like having food"

Yeah its pavi who came with her lunch box. following her I saw Rathika who brought her lunch box as well, along with them lucky came and stood ideal behind rathika.

They started unboxing there lunch

Jae –"hello hello what are you planning to do?" "I have not got any seat for you people"

Rathika – " we have legs"

Lucky – "yeah we can stand and have food" for which I gave a sound *pcccch*

Pavi – "yeah come on lets share our food and have " "mom made chicken pakoda, I don't normally share , do you wanna miss this chance ?"

~~~~~~~~~~~Growl growl ~~~~~~~~~~ it was none other than my damn stomach

Even before I could say anything, and the smell was soo good that i cant resist

(obviously who will not be hungry at lunch time )

Pavi – "now shut your damn fucking mouth and come have food "

Since I have got no answer I didn't argue and just started having

Though pavi told she will share her food, I am damn sure that she is not the type to share her food with her friend

Everyone took this chance to become normal with me

Harsh – "you told your not hungry ?" "but leaving me your having nice delicious foods ?"

Pavi - "who the hell are you man?" she asked with a frowned face.

Jae – " no harsh, my friends from the other section had come to our class" i said to before they start a fight

Rathika – "can you stop running your mouth harsh, already he's not willing to have food !!"

Harsh – "okok chill" he said and took the chicken pakoda

Pavi got angry and unintentionally she said " hey its mine !"

For which we started laughing and that's how we started talking to one another again.. .
