Volume 2 Chapter 21: New Spell
Because, Daniel preferred working in neutral towns and cities that welcomed individuals regardless of their background, even those wanted, as long as they ensured not to be recognized and caught for their bounties.
However, getting caught in a neutral town or city is very rare because many visitors who enter such places usually do so in incognito, often wearing a full-body robe along with a mask.
Some rich individuals who would go to these kind of town or city would sometimes utilize various kinds potions that is capable of altering a person's appearance, voice, height, and even gender. Each potion had its own time limit, and the gender-changing potion was particularly rare and very expensive.

Some individuals will also use illusion magic if they have have the skill and have confidence in their illusionary abilities, their total mana reserves, and their mana regeneration rate. Utilizing illusion magic will incurs significant mana costs, which may vary based on its usage. Prolonged use of any illusion magic will become increasingly expensive in terms of mana usage.
Even though Daniel wore a black robe and mask, he will only received a few passing glances; otherwise, he was mostly ignored.
Despite his belief that magic tends to be flashy, he had learned a few spells suitable for various situations. In this specific scenario, he began casting an offensive spell, specifically one associated with fire attributes.
Using a fire spell could easily cause blood to dry and coagulate, but its effectiveness depended on whether his enemies used normal blood or blood derived from pure mana. Having only trained and not engaged in fatal battles against other vampires, all his previous opponents had utilized their own blood in fights. Facing Carmilla and her clones was an entirely new experience for him.
Daniel began with a simple spell, 'fire arrow,' simultaneously casting two of them. Two orange magic circles materialized in front of Daniel.
Subsequently, two fire arrows emerged from each magic circle before vanishing.
Daniel commanded the two fire arrows.
Daniel: "Go."
Following his command, the two fire arrows fly straight toward the blood dome's direction.
Daniel didn't have enough time to observe the outcome of his spell because several arrows were already flying toward his location.
Daniel had no choice but to shift to another position. With the two fire arrows heading straight toward the blood dome, this afforded him a few precious seconds to contemplate his next move.
Eve and Pepper considered Daniel as a moving target, being secure within the confines of the blood dome and shielded from any attacks he might attempt.
They opted to remain within the blood dome, treating the situation as though it were a game—a rather ironic approach considering that Carmilla was playing inside a virtual game.
They then noticed Daniel lingering in one spot for a prolonged moment than he usually do, prompting both Eve and Pepper to swiftly unleash several shots.
Despite seizing the opportunity, they remained highly vigilant, realizing that Daniel's prolonged pause in that spot might signify a strategic move. They were certain that Daniel wouldn't engage in something futile.
Their intuition have been proven correct, as shortly after Daniel halted in that location, two orange magic circles materialized in front of him.
Despite their uncertainty about the type of spell Daniel was currently casting, since their expertise solely revolved around on the usage of blood magic right now, where a distinct red magic circle would manifest with every usage of the spell.
However, they made some guesses based on the color orange of the magic circle.
Carmilla was 90% certain about the type of magic attribute Daniel was currently casting, drawing from her knowledge of anime and some of her insights from her small gaming experience, deducing that it involved some form of fire or flame magic.
Her guess were accurate as two fire arrows emerged from the two magic circles.
Upon witnessing the emergence of the two fire arrows, Pepper exclaimed in excitement.
Pepper: "Awesome!"
But as the two fire arrows flew straight towards their direction,
Pepper takes back what she said and Eve remarked.
Pepper: "Not awesome.'"
Eve: "Not good"
Seeing the two fire arrows flying towards their direction, Carmilla swiftly ordered Eve and Pepper to intercept them, urgently saying.
Carmilla: "Quick, you two, intercept those two fire arrows!"
Eve and Pepper ceased firing at Daniel, who had already moved to another spot, and swiftly aimed at the two incoming fire arrows.
Both of them targeted different fire arrows, benefitting from their newfound experience with a bow and a few gained levels in their 'Bow Art' skill.
Skillfully, they easily hit the two fire arrows, which were moving in a straight line.
Having fired a single shot each, both Eve and Pepper readied for another but withheld their shots, anticipating the outcome of the collision between their blood arrows and Daniel's two fire arrows.
As both arrows collided, a minor explosion occurred, accompanied by the appearance of red steam, reminiscent of a basic chemical reaction when a liquid is heated to high temperatures.
However, such an occurrence seemed impossible as blood cannot evaporate into steam. Even in theory, it's only feasible if blood were subjected to temperatures far exceeding any known heat.
But this is a game world, so the blood arrow created from pure mana evaporates upon colliding with Daniel's two fire arrows, creating a small amount of red-colored steam, that lingers around in the air.
Emerging from the lingering red steam, the two fire arrows appeared slightly smaller and dimmer. However, the minute alterations were so inconsequential that no one noticed the subtle changes at all.
Observing the unsuccessful outcome from Eve and Pepper's attempt from stoping the two fire arrows, Carmilla became certain that if both Eve and Pepper were to target different fire arrows simultaneously again, both fire arrows would undoubtedly hit the blood dome.
Carmilla ordered both of them to focus on a single fire arrow. Witnessing their blood arrows getting vaporized by the two fire arrows, Eve and Pepper complied with Carmilla's directive.
Carmilla prepared to mend any potential damage caused by the fire arrow to their blood dome…
Simultaneously, both Eve and Pepper chose to target the fire arrow flying on the left. Without hesitation, they swiftly began firing at the fire arrow, shots by shots.
